Yet another fight against corruption -- Return to main page
ow does an organization that spends 65% of the money receivedin internal administration costs manage to get more money? What are the interests at play?
Why isn't the WHO shut down, and replaced with a more efficient (and honest, we may add) new bodycapable of channeling most of its income against the diseases that are ravaging the world?
One of the many reasons, of course, is politics. All countries need to show each other that they support health, and though there may be domestic objections in the background in each country, the official voice of all is supportive of the WHO. A recent example is the unanimous support of the mandate to the WHO for an international treaty against tobacco, even though a large part of the economy of many countries, and millions of jobs, depend on tobacco.
The notion (politically successful but false) that to be "progressive" it is necessary to suppress personal choice, and the liberty to enjoy tobacco (a notion based on junk science and health paternalism) has rooted itself in too many countries. The combined action of the World Bank (now on board the WHO bandwagon), and lobbies and commercial treaties from nations endorsing the anti-tobacco cartel, is forcing reluctant, weak countries to go along with the anti-smoking charade.
Another very fundamental shift of the WHO is its alliance with the pharmaceutical industry. In exchange for substantial contributions, the WHO ruffians will abuse the organisation's authoritative voice and, just like the anti-smoking cartel in each nation, will peddle nicotine patches and other smoking cessation devices to the world as remedy against an epidemic that simply does not exist.
As this happens, the pharmaceutical multinationals will attempt to replace the tobacco industry with themselves while firmly taking root in the target countries to expand marketing of all their products, while the profits are channeled back home.
Ladened with an enormous bureaucracy, the WHO is now a totally political entity that seeks more control and expansion in order to survive and satisfy its ambitions. And if this is achieved at the cost of prostituting integrity, truth, science, and repressing freedom, personal choice, and private enterprise, well, that's what politics are all about.

|OPENING UP WITH THE WHO's NONGOVERNMENTAL ASSOCIATES
Here is the complete list of FORMAL associations with the WHO. We call the reader's attention to the section at the bottom of the list about informal contracts, etc.

|INTRODUCING THE FINANCIAL ENFORCER
An introduction to the financial muscle that will twist the arm of those countries (particularly in the Third World) that may resist the international anti-tobacco cartel/pharmaceutical industry tandem with respect to the financially devastating elimination of tobacco crops, the interference of multinationals in their politics -- or both.

|THE ENFORCER SPEAKS, AND USES THE USUAL JUNK SCIENCE MANTRA TO SELL ANTI-TOBACCO
This is the "study" the W.B. will release in the next few months which will be just like the CDC cost analysis. False information about tobacco, and anti-tobacco propaganda abound in this piece.

|THE BIG PRIVATE MONEY BAG
One of the many non-governmental organizations affiliated with WHO. In January, Brundtland announced partnership with certain specific pharmaceutical companies which she named (all, of course, make nicotine "cessation" products) along with the World Bank in the repression against tobacco and its users.

|...AND ANOTHER NOTABLE PLAYER
The International Union Against Cancer is an important player in this scenario. It is intimately connected with other dirty players of the anti-tobacco cartel. The UICC has a strong visceral stand against tobacco notwithstanding that available evidence cannot prove that tobacco causes cancer. The huge amount of money anti-cancer societies around the world manage to grab for anti-tobacco purposes allow them quite a comfortable living. The president of the US ACS, for example, receives a salary double the one of the President of the United States.
|INTERNATIONAL UNION AGAINST CANCER (UICC)|
INGCAT (the International Non Governmental Coalition Against Tobacco) was set up by the international anti-tobacco cartel in 1995 during the 9th World Conference on Tobacco and Health in Paris. The function of the INGCAT is mainly to lure in poor countries and create the "right" environment to accept international interference of the WHO and the rest of the cartel. Representatives of poor countries are presented with the usual falsifications, and trained in anti-tobacco "thinking," so that they can go back home and present the package of disinformation to their government, probably along with political extortion plans of the cartel.

OPERATION LOOT: BOARDING THE SHIP
WORLD NO-TOBACCO DAY
The pharmaceutical partners and the WHO are focussing on cessation as the theme of this year's World No-Tobacco Day. No-Tobacco Day is an excellent opportunity for the pharmaceutical industry to promote and increase the sales of its highly-profitable smoking cessation devices. Notice how many times the word "treatment" is used in this article of slightly over 200 words issued by the US CDC.
The notion that smokers are sick is as socially dangerous as it is false, of course, but it serves well the interests of both the pharmaceutical and anti-tobacco cartels: while one gets rich, the other gets richer, and both control politics -- and people.
|HAVE YOU HEARD THIS CLICHE BEFORE?
Activists against anti-tobacco corruption have memorized the words below, for it is the cliche` of every anti-tobacco activist in the world. But for the the uninformed and non-initiated, these words from the WHO have a remarkable effect. Parenthetical comments are ours.
"Developing countries would save millions of lives without hurting their economies [this is the lark-mirror] if they adopted a range of measures to control tobacco use, the World Bank said today. In its report, 'Curbing the [computer-generated] Epidemic,' the organization says governments should look at raising cigarette taxes [here is the political lure for governments], banning advertising [the would-be nobilitating, and TOTALLY UNPROVEN measure] and providing information [false, of course] on the health risks of smoking."

COZY IN BED
"By 2020, the burden of disease attributable to tobacco is expected to outweigh that caused by any single other disease."
That is not surprising, since almost each day the cartel attributes to tobacco the most absurd diseases. But what is interesting is the official launch of the partnership between the WHO and the pharmaceutical industry.
Tobacco aside, the scheme for global social control by the health establishment is clear in these chilling words: "The Project provides a model which can provide a basis for future partnerships with the private sector in other important health areas."
Since any human activity and behaviour affects health somehow, we leave the conclusions to the reader.
WHO LAUNCHES PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY TO HELP SMOKERS QUITPHARMACEUTICAL MAFIA
"Three of the world's biggest pharmaceutical companies are joining forces to support a world-wide anti-smoking campaign, it was disclosed today. "
"David Graham, in charge of developing nicotine replacement products at Pharmacia & Upjohn, said the companies recognised it was in their interests to help."
Of course it is in their interest. By substituting themselves for the tobacco industry as suppliers of nicotine, the pharmaceutical industry wants to put its hands on one of the largest markets. By imposing "solutions" to artificially-created problems, the pharmaceutical industry demonstrates both the stupidity and corruption of the governments endorsing these frauds, and a marketing ability that is far superior to that of the tobacco industry -- something that the pharmaceutical industry's stockholders will appreciate immensely.
FIRMS IN ALLIANCE AGAINST TOBACCOAND WHILE THE WORLD BANK LIES ON THE IMPACT OF TOBACCO TAXATION, AND STIMUTATES THE GREED OF POLITICIANS AROUND THE WORLD...
"Developing countries won't have significant job or revenue losses if they tax cigarettes as a way to deter smoking, the World Bank said."
"Many countries, including China, would actually see government revenue grow from antitobacco policies, the bank said in a report to be released Tuesday. "
(The Wall Street Journal, "World Bank Study Sees Limited Impact Of Tobacco Tax in Developing Nations", May 18, 1999)
...THE THIRD WORLD PROVES THE WB, THE WHO, AND THE REST OF THE ANTI-TOBACCO CARTEL LIARS ONCE AGAIN
"Zimbabwe has failed to pay interest due on its international debt for the first time since independence in 1980, according to a letter from World Bank president James Wolfensohn to his International Monetary Fund (IMF) counterpart, published in the Zimbabwe Financial Gazette yesterday. 'A new foreign exchange crisis is likely after the tobacco export earnings fizzle out (later this year),' Wolfensohn wrote to the IMF's Michel Camdessus."

THE REAL FACE OF THE WORLD BANK: A CALLOUS MOPPET OF THE UNITED STATES
The World Bank is part of the WHO anti-tobacco jihad. The former chief economist of the World Bank (he tried unsuccessfully to run for President of the World Bank before Clinton appointed him his deputy secretary of the presidency in l993) is now very influential in the Clinton administration. This article shows his (and the World Bank's) callous view of developing countries -- the same callousness of WHO that lets children in Third World countries die of malaria and infectious disease while it focuses on dictating lifestyle choices to those who are neither sick nor hungry.
Read Summers' remarks and shudder.
' "Health-impairing pollution should be done in the country with the lowest cost, which will be the countries with the lowest wages," Summers wrote confidentially to his fellow bankers and economists at the World Bank who quietly determine the fate of hundreds of millions of workers. '

FINANCING THE LOOT
|To protect children from AIDS: US $1.3 million contribution
To "protect" children from tobacco, and to loot a legal industry: US $ 2.7 million contribution
Based on the fraudulent, computed generated and nondemonstrable estimates on the WHO on tobacco mortality, the UNF gives money to sue a legal industry and tell lies about tobacco worldwide, while AIDS, a real disease, takes a second distant position in comparison.
