Latest Media: The Stranger
The Stranger | | 1946
Great story, great actors, great movie. Set Connecticut after World War II, The Stranger is a cat and mouse game between Wilson (Edward G. Robinson), a member of the Allied War Crimes Commission and Franz Kindler (Orson Welles), a Nazi who has assumed the false identity of Dr. Charles Rankin. To complete his new intelligentsia disguise, Kindler marries Mary Longstreet, daughter of a Supreme Court justice. Historically accurate: the good guy smokes his pipe steadily, the Nazi sociopath does not smoke at all. Will the time come when the neo-Nazis that now control our lives through “public health”, prohibition laws and scientific frauds will be hunted down by smokers once again? It sounds like an improbable dream – but so was the though of hunting down the original Nazis in 1939, when they were conquering the world. Embed this video on your site »» Can't play the media?
