Particulate Matter: Another Scare Scientific Evidence Listing

Amongst the ever-growing number of dangers and threats to our eve-growing life span there is that of fine particles, also known as particulate matter or PM 10 or PM 2.5. Very much like environmental tobacco smoke (which also has PM), particulate matter is accused to “cause” all kind of disease and death. Much like tobacco smoke again, the “truth” that “PM kills” has become unquestionable. What seems to be conveniently forgotten is, however, that PM – much like smoke - has been with us since the beginning of time, when humans lit up fires in caves, and developed a great resistance through natural selection. PM have always been in the atmosphere as they are part of nature and, contrary to induced impressions, they are not at all a product of our technological times.
