FORCES - The Theatre of the Absurd

STUDENTS SUED OVER SMOKY BATHROOM!

Everywhere and anytime, hate and hysteria propaganda have an easy grip on weak minds.

This absurd story is truly a mirror of today's America.

Never mind that there is no tobacco allergy. Never mind the secondhand smoke is not harmful. Never mind that youth will be youth. This frustrated teacher belongs to that failed generation who protested and lost all its battles, smoked pot but never inhaled, and now wants to win at least this one battle against smoking by oppressing the poor, the young, and the defenseless.

When small turds feel that they are backed up by equally stinking politics, they feel free to unleash their hatred on anyone they can get away with. In the Theatre of the Absurd we always try to see things in a sadly but amusing key.

We cannot laugh at this one. We can only cry -- and be angry.

LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (AP) - Not only is smoking in the bathroom not allowed in school, it might get you sued. Gary Philips, a math teacher at Liverpool High School, has filed a lawsuit against 11th-grader Brian Parrillo. Philips says Parillo was smoking in the boy's bathroom. Philips is seeking $57 for a doctor's visit and allergy medication he says he needed after he was exposed to the smoke. The teacher also is seeking an unspecified amount for punitive damages for pain and suffering, according to the complaint he filed in small claims court. Philips, who has taught school for more than 30 years, said he'd had enough when the cloud of smoke coming from the bathroom left him with a sore throat, a headache, watery eyes and congestion.
