FORCES - The Theatre of the Absurd
The sinister buffoons of the FDA cannot resist using junk science to regulate and interfere in the slightest aspects of our life. After labeling eggs, it is now the turn of bread, that is already in the health nuts' targeting system because of its smell (!). Potassium Bromate improves the strength and texture of certain bread doughs. Though almost abandoned by the baking industry, it is still used by some. But this is not enough for the FDA who, in pure Socialist health fascist spirit, believes that it 's its mandate to regulate industries in the smallest details -- for our good, of course! By pumping huge amounts of Potassium Bromate in mice, they develop cancer. The amounts, of course, are not specified by junk science populariser Infobeat or by the Associate Press article. That's OK. The ignorant American public does not need to know -- it just needs to believe and applaud the destruction of private industry through regulation. Divulging dissenting counter-information is dangerous and disruptive for the operatives of the Socialist regime. So what if mice developed cancer? What was the mice's lifestyle? Did the mice eat their vegetables? What did they do for a living? While laboratory animals are good for rough mono-factorial disease experimentation, that experimentation becomes extremely foggy for multi-factorial disease of UNKNOWN ORIGIN like cancer, and even foggier when that experimentation is correlated to humans. Unaccountable bureaucrats who base public policy affecting the lives, liberties and wallets of all citizens on SPECULATION as opposed to PROOF are not just irresponsible, criminals, paranoids and even fraudulent -- they are Mickey Mouse. The saddest part of the whole article, however, is not about the bread, but about the bread industry "working with the FDA on new industry guidelines" (read: more constrains, regulations, state interference in private business, and control), instead of telling the FDA to go climb a tree and start a national strike, for example. The fear of state authority leads to collaboration while uselessly bitching. During the glorious times of W.W.II, collaboration with the oppressor usually spelt capital punishment. Now it spells good citizenship. All we have to do is say that there is no oppression, and our cowardice is rationalized. Simple, no? And for as long as we lap the ever-harder fist that breaks our nose, we'll then deserve to taste the blood that comes out of it.
