THE THINKING & PLANNING TODDLERS: |
DALLAS (Reuters) - Children as young as 3 and 4 years old think
smoking is "cool" if their parents do it, and plan to smoke
themselves when they grow up, a researcher said Tuesday. Dr.
Christine Williams of the American Health Foundation in Valalla,
N.Y., said her findings show that it is important to start
anti-smoking campaigns aimed even at the tiniest of children - and to
get their parents to kick the habit. "Already these little 3- and
4-year-olds are forming attitudes about whether they thought smoking
was cool," Williams said. "Living with a smoker in the family,
especially a mother, greatly increases the chances a child will plan
to smoke when they get bigger." (Publishing source: Infobeat) |

"Children as young as 3 and 4 years old think smoking is 'cool' if their parents do it, and plan to smoke themselves when they grow up", a "new study" reveals! -- So, now we have planning toddlers, huh? Quick, do you remember what you were thinking and planning when you were a toddler? -- We thought so!
Smoking IS "cool" because it is pleasurable and nicotine may even be beneficial. Aside from that, please note the timing of the study release. This new "study" has been released just when California's proposition 10 has been voted in with the narrowest of margins -- and it will be certainly debated quite a bit in the public and legal forum. California's Prop 10 taxes smokers another 50 cents a pack. This is done to finance the local anti-tobacco cartel, in order to brainwash young children against smoking -- with the usual pack of false information sold as "education". Isn't the release of the study quite a lucky coincidence? This may give the anti-tobacco gangsters just enough of that extra-push so badly needed at this time.
Of course, the political findings of the "study" are in blatant contradiction with the reality of millions of parents who smoke while their kids do not (even when they grow up), as is in the case of this writer. But who cares? To the schizophrenic anti-tobacco politicians all that matters is some piece of paper with some sort of authoritative lustre to wave in front of the public, thus insuring the continuity of their profitable agenda of lies and deception.
And all those made-to-feel-guilty, uninformed parents who have quit smoking solely because they listened to state propaganda, will be once again reassured that they have "done the right thing", and that their children will be programmed against choosing yet another pleasure of life.
Perhaps they'll pick up "Angel Dust" instead.
