Cynthia Pomerleau, of the university's Substance Abuse Research Center and Nicotine Research Laboratory, also says that "mounting evidence [exists] that smoking is becoming increasingly concentrated in people at risk for major depressive disorders, adult attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder, anxiety disorders and bulimia or binge-eating."

WOW!!

In combination with the "study" that "proves" that smokers procreate criminals (see elsewhere in the Theatre of the Absurd), this is a wonderful way to snatch grant money while adding gasoline to the burning stake of the smokers' witch hunt.

Of course, to set the ground for more grants, this point must as always be made: "But the extent of the relationship between various psychological disorders and self-medication with nicotine has not been widely recognized or well-documented".
