THE NEW PUBLIC HEALTH: Enemy of Individual Freedom - "Autonomy for our nation may still collectively be important, but it seems that the autonomy of the individual is given up without so much as a wimper for most.  It used to be that we all lived lives where health, sickness, vices and death were part of the picture and things were fine.  The authorities and the medical community left us alone to live, wherever it took us. Liberty and the pursuit of happiness were paramount.  Individuals were autonomous, as designed by Americas' founding fathers."

HELP THE FIGHT AGAINST JUNK SCIENCE - "Help us fight to make information available that government uses to guide public policy. Information on the environment and smoking are the chief targets for junk science. Make sure that all information, no matter what the source, is available to anyone who would like to check it for integrity."

ANNOUNCEMENT FOR TEXANS - I live in the greater Houston area. One of the suburbs to the east of here, Baytown has proposed a smoking ban in the workplace, a ban in restaurants without separate ventilation systems between smoking and non-smoking areas.

SMOKERS WOULD LIKE TO REPORT A THEFT - The $206 Billion settlement the tobacco companies made with the states is now history and the war begins over who gets the windfall monies and how many millions or billions the attorneys make.  Who is crying over the estimated $60 million a day the new price increase brought by the tobacco companies is costing smokers?

THE TOBACCO SETTLEMENT - Everywhere smokers and non-smokers alike are being choked to death by the second-hand smoke from the Bill of Rights being set on fire and left to burn. The document is worthless for smokers, the tobacco companies and the next target of the "health police". Beer, milk, firearms, airbags, peanuts and beef are a few of the concerns big law has their eyes on.
