Plane Scene Over Smoking -- or -- Anti-smoking is a medical condition - Businessman in smoking flight goes ballistic and gets arrested because he does not want smokers to smoke in the smoking section. Appropriately told to go to hell from the smoking section, he insults the captain, crew, and anybody within range.
Australian Anti-smoking Cartel: Very Selective Ethics - The hypocrisy of the anti-smoking cartel is illustrated in this article. When the cartel is lobbying politicians and government to obtain repressive action against smokers and the tobacco industry, as well as piles of millions for itself, that is "normal political action". If, however, the tobacco industry does it, it is "very disturbing", as a spokesman for the Australian Minister for Health, Dr Wooldridge, puts it. What a putrid face! But then, it appears that nowadays being a hypocrite and, liar, and a smoker basher has become an essential requirement to sit in the chair of the minister of health.
>>> Here is an update on the situation. The anti-tobacco criminals feel that they are entitled to slander, bash, and ruin a legal industry, but they call for an inquity when that industry tries to defend itself. - Inquiry Call on Tobacco Giant's Plan
Tobacco, Pot? Noooo! Poison for Suicide? Well... OK! - "...Reno disagrees. She told Hyde that a) assisted suicide doesn’t threaten public health or safety, b) it falls within “the course of professional practice” and c) it’s none of the DEA’s beeswax whether the Oregon law violates the Controlled Substances Act. If the law needs parsing, Reno said, she’ll do it."
Tobacco' Bill's Fate Will Not Affect American Vote, Poll Shows - "Supporters of the tobacco legislation say they’ll make its defeat an election issue. But six in 10 Americans say it will make no difference to them this fall if their own senator was one of those who voted to kill the legislation, and another three in 10 say other issues will be as important. Only 6 percent say the tobacco vote could be the deciding issue in their choice of candidate. And while some members of that small group are inclined to punish a vote against the tobacco bill, others are inclined to reward it."
Smoking Foes Plan "New Salem" - Once upon a time, the necessary kit for a smoker was a pack of cigarettes, and a lighter. But now a new component seems to be more and more necessary for the smoker: preparedness to act in his or her own defense. "For some time now tobacco opponents have not been satisfied with casting dirty looks at smokers. These days, their looks are so full of disgust for nicotine addicts they are almost lethal." Frankly, how idiots feels is not our problem, but a good disgusted look back is usually all it takes to teach pigs their place, and if that does not work, well, we won't be inclined to turn the other cheek ....
BS Billboards by Bogusky - Here comes the latest wave of BS infesting the billboards of Florida, paid with the money ripped off from the tobacco industry and Florida's smokers by means of the Florida tobacco settlement. "Using statistics compiled by the campaign, they show on a scoreboard that there were 430,700 tobacco-related deaths in 1995, compared with 43,363 auto fatalities, 43,115 AIDS-related deaths and 22,895 murders for that year." Of course, everyone who has ever smoked even one cigarette is enumerated in the zillions of deaths, no matter what the real cause is. But when criminals make it to the government... well, the rest you know already. ``[The teens] already knew that smoking was bad for them, but they didn't know how the tobacco companies targeted them and manipulated them''. Of course this is a lie, but the name of the firm orchestrating the BS campaign under a ``performance compensation'' contract is Crispin, Porter and Bogusky. The name says it all.
The Clinton Tantrum - Head anti-smoking bastard Bill Clinton learned nothing from the powerful defeat he suffered last week by Congress, and is throwing a tantrum. "Clinton announces that the federal government will begin conducting annual surveys to determine cigarette brand share in the market for underage smokers, a defiant gesture aimed at tobacco companies and their congressional allies." The immaturity of Clinton shows well in this episode, for he desperately tries to do something "successful", though totally useless. Besides, as Eric Sorensen from the Seattle Times observes on June 23, 1998: "Those three brands -- Marlboro, Camel, and Newport -- account for 90 percent of the cigarettes smoked by eight-, 10th and 12th graders surveyed last year in a 'Monitoring the Future' study at the University of Michigan. They also dominated the youth market in a 1993 survey by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. ... Which raises a couiple of questions: if surveys already tell us what brands kids smoke, why is the president asking for another one?"
Thank you Again, Germany, Land of Freedom! - "The German Government yesterday made its pitch for the nicotine addict vote by announcing its intention to challenge the Brussels ban on tobacco advertising at the European Court of Justice. The complaint will be filed in Luxembourg by the beginning of September, weeks before the general election. It is therefore bound to figure in Helmut Kohl's re-election campaign. ... A spokeswoman for the German Economic Ministry said Bonn was arguing that health policy fell under the jurisdiction of member states, and not the European Union. Moreover the ban - welcomed by the British Government earlier this year as a 'giant leap forward in the fight to reduce smoking' - violated freedom of speech and companies' ownership rights on brand name products." - Germany has learned well from its past. Differently from the British government, increasingly servile to American politics, the German government stands up against health nazism and control freaks, to the point that Kohl risks his political career on this issue. We have nothing but admiration for the courage of this man, and his nation. A few months ago, Germany shut down an attempt for a national smoking ban. The German Minister of Health was reported to say: "...Not while I am in this Ministry!" ... Not all ministers of health are lunatic control freaks, after all.
THE RANTING RAGE OF THE CARTEL FACING DEFEAT - Democrat Tom Dashle: "Smoking Kills 1,000 American Teen-Agers A Day!!" - "In the debate preceding the collapse of a major piece of anti-tobacco legislation the other night, Tom Daschle, the Democratic leader of the Senate, became so angry and so confused that he blurted out that smoking kills 1,000 American teen-agers a day" - Why not? The figures and the "science" backing anti-tobacco are a fabrication pushed on the population by the cartel anyway, so wha't the dif? 400,000, 3,000, 52,000, 1,000 ... zero means nothing anyway, except as an indication of the credibility of the anti-smoking "mountains of evidence."
FREEDOM OF CHOICE, INC.: Fighting Anti-Tobacco Criminals With Courage and Determination - The persecution of smokers continues on all fronts, but many finally have decided to fight back. As we stated many times, this is a war for liberty: the killers of choice have declared war on smoking long ago, and besides distorted science, they use intimidation. Inside is a press release that summarizes the fight of Freedom of Choice, Inc., distinguished member of the Smokers' Rights movement, against the health cartel. FORCES has followed for quite some time -- and modestly contributed -- to their admirable fight. Instead of being intimidated by false charges brought forward by the Department of Health of Tooele County, Utah, Freedom of Choice, Inc. has decided to set an example of great valour for all smokers and freedom defenders: the have hired lawyers, and they are going after their enemies. This example should be followed all over North America. As Canadians, we should realize that the state-funded prevarication of the Ministries of Health and their accomplices in the anti-smoking cartel not only can be fought back, but this slime can be made to pay for lying to the taxpaying population. Accountability of the politicians is an old issue in this country, and the Ministries of Health would be a good place to start.
Fighting Fire With Fire (How to avoid jury duty... and make a statement at the same time) - It is high time for smokers to start fighting back, and we have now started in a major way. This is the case of Joy Faulkner, president of FORCES New Zealand, who, when chosen for jury duty, she asked to be excused because her discomfort with a non-smoking environment would impair her ability to fairly judge the case.
Smokers have demonstrated the falsity of anti-smoking "science", the absurdity of the anti-smoking "philosophy", and the existence of fair and equitable solutions for the accommodation of both smokers and non-smokers. There is nothing more to prove. The antismoking cartel does not want to listen, thus arguing is futile. The only solution left open is to fight, and disrupt the fabric of society for as much as we are able, in new and creative ways each time. This method is not new, but common to all fights for liberty in all times.
Punish, Punish, Punish Everybody!... What a Novel Idea! - The orgy of hysteria, punishment and social fustigation, expression of a deeply diseased society, continues in North America. Now a group in New Jersey proposes the direct punishment of youth who smoke. This time, even the anti-tobacco cartel disagrees, saying that it is the tobacco industry that must be punished -- of course. This is good, folks. These gangsters are preparing the smokers of tomorrow big time. And those smokers will squash them out of existence. Have these jokers ever noticed how effective the laws against underage drinking, drug use, and so on, are? Aren't they ashamed to make headlines this way, the obvious motivation, when people will see how truly stupid they are?
THE POLES ARE REVERSED - SHORT CIRCUIT IN PROGRESS - SAN FRANCISCO - We have said repeatedly that the '90s will go down in history as "the decade with the poles reversed". Now this social inversion is in full flower. Relatively unimportant issues like teen smoking get great attention from a corrupted system which is lying to justify to divert attention from important (but complex and hard to address) social issues, and to divert huge amounts of money into the pockets of the state and individuals. An eruption of violence in San Francisco is reported as if it were everyday business, and at any rate far less important than "teens smoking in the park". The tremendous, irresponsible disservice to our children cannot go unpunished. If you need any more evidence, here it is. Incidentally, FORCES is mentioned in the first article by the SF Chronicle.
SF Parks Department Staff to Tell People They Can't Light Up Around Children (SF Chronicle)
SF Extends Smoking Ban to Parks Where Kids Play
6 Teens Shot at Busy SF Playground
The "Problem" of Youth Smoking in the Parks
The Alice in Wonderland-Looking Glass world, in which San Francisco's governing class plays, was rudely shattered when reality intruded on the masquerade that passes for public policy.
A few hours after the Park and Recreation Commission voted to ban smoking in two dozen city playgrounds, a gunman opened fire at one of those playgrounds, seriously wounding six children. The teenage shooter is still at large while parents are wondering what in hell is going on when out-of-touch political hacks waste time, money and energy protecting children from the sight of a lit cigarette while leaving them exposed to deadly gunfire.
In civilized societies the incompetence and stupidity of the Park and Recreation Commissioners would be cause for their immediate dismissal. In the no longer civilized San Francisco these dangerous fools continue their endless round of parties while the victims of their policies recover in intensive care. What the hey, since only the gun barrel was smoking, public safety for the kids is still intact.

The Reincarnation of Joe (Hindu) Camel - We all know that cigarette advertising is the root of all evil. No one would smoke if advertising were completely eliminated. The anti-tobacco cartel has preached this dogma for years, making it a primary focus of their campaign to destroy the tobacco industry and eliminate smokers. From San Francisco, however, comes proof that, once again, the cartel is lying. The trendiest cigarettes these days are Kailas Bidis, an Indian cigarette that has grown tremendously popular without any advertising or marketing whatsoever. The reporter, a long-time anti-tobacco cartel apologist, doesn't waste time on the paradox of high popularity fueled with zero advertising. Instead he hangs with the anti-smoking Hitler Youth-type thugs who are in a dither over the foreign cigarettes. The anti-tobacco operative he cites is silent on the advertising issue. Want to bet that a high-priced 'study' is in the works to prove that Joe Camel and the Marlboro Man have been reincarnated as Hindu symbols to hook the children transcendentally?
Oooh! Judge Fitzpatrick Is Stressed! .... And He Also Suffers from Anxiety ... Bad Tobacco Lawyers ... What About a Law Suit? - Judge Fitzpatrick, who has presided the infamous Minnesota trial in which the tobacco industry settled for a multi-billion dollars looting by the anti-tobacco cartel, is stressed. And the poor baby was sooo stressed by those nasty tobacco lawyers, he is forced to take medical disability - at his full $92,000 salary.
Isn't this a touching anti-smoking story?
MINNESOTA: ANTI-TOBACCO CORRUPTION IN FULL BLOSSOM - 550 Million in Legal Fees: So What? The Smokers Will Pay! - "What's wrong with paying $550 million to the Robins Kaplan law firm for its work on the tobacco settlement? First, there is the question of whether the fee contract is legal. Second, the amount, an astounding $550 million! Third, the timing of the payments: Lawyers get paid up front, while the state of Minnesota gets its money over 25 years. A lawsuit will be filed on behalf of Minnesota taxpayers questioning the legality of the contract Hubert Humphrey III signed permitting this huge fee. The obvious question is can one person in government contract to pay this outrageous amount without any oversight from the Legislature or the governor?"
Why Don't They Just Take the Money? - ALBANY - A bill designed to boost the attorney general's odds of winning an ongoing lawsuit against (what else?) the tobacco industry, would make it possible for the state to prove its case based on a statistical analysis, not human testimony. This is happening in the middle of the lawsuit. The fact is that anti-tobacco is a synonym for corruption, and a pretext to loot the tobacco industry, is now a given. Every moral and legal law has been broken (oops -- sorry -- adapted) so the criminals of the anti-tobacco cartel can get at the industry's money, that is, into the wallets of smokers. The surprising thing is that these criminals still seem to worry about maintaining an appearance of respect for due process, something that they have already successfully and severely damaged, possibly beyond repair. Why not just take the money (nationalize the industry), and be done with it? People who belong in jail are already running the US, and they have all the power it takes to appropriate anything they want. So, logic indicates that they should go ahead with it, especially when it seems that the people of the USA do not really care about dethroning these mobsters.
