INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES SMOKING BAN SYNOPSIS

GOOD NEWS FOR TRAVELLING SMOKERS, AND ANOTHER DEFEAT FOR THE ANTI-TOBACCO CARTEL? BUT THE DANGER IS NOT OVER YET: THE CARTEL MAY STILL SNEAK IT IN -- AS IT DID BEFORE FOR DOMESTIC FLIGHTS (SEE "THE SITUATION RIGHT NOW")
(Updated July 31)

US HOUSE DOES NOT MENTION SMOKING BAN ON INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES

THE SITUATION RIGHT NOW
NUMBERS TO CALL

(July 31)

"The House passed a $46.9 billion transportation spending bill early Thursday" ... "The House bill, however, does not include language banning smoking on international flights."

The US anti-tobacco cartel, not satisfied with spreading lies and intolerance against smokers and secondhand smoke in the face of scientific evidence and court judgements, has lifted quite a bit of indignation at home and in other countries, where fairness and common sense still survive. The USA and its airline racket want to eliminate competition by foisting their dirty domestic political agendas on those foreign airlines who still respect the sacrosanct rights of smokers.

``We're the flag carrier of Italy,'' Alitalia spokeswoman Marta Lotti said. ``I was under the impression that the laws governing us were the ones of the Italian transport offices.''

``If the U.S. starts requiring this, France could turn around and say all carriers flying into France must have smoking flights for their passengers.''

The combined domestic and international pressure exerted on the House has had an effect, and this absurdity has been put to rest -- for now - BUT IT IS NOT OVER. It is interesting to notice how the press underplays the news when (and if) it reports a victory of the forces of freedom against the anti-tobacco obscurantists.

FORCES wishes to thank all the fighters who have so far helped to achieve this for our side. But now the bill has to go to Conference Committee where members from both the House and the Senate appointed to this committee need to reconcile the differences between the two versions of the Bill.

Following is a synopsys of the events, and the fight of FORCES on this issue.

"A few days ago, Associated Press reported that smoke-free airplane cabins, would become mandatory on international flights based on an amendment added to a $41.7 billion transportation bill. Sen. Richard J. Durbin, D-Ill., earned approval for the proposal that effectively will ban smoking on international flights." The fact that second hand smoking is not dangerous on airplanes was known four years before the EPA Report. Click here for proof.

FOREIGN AIRLINES SIMPLY OUTRAGED ABOUT THE INTERFERENCE OF THE UNITED STATES IN THEIR AFFAIRS

THE RIGHT OF SMOKERS TO HAVE SMOKING FLIGHTS ARE EQUAL TO THE ONES OF NON-SMOKERS TO BE ACCOMMODATED. AND ETS IS NOT A HEALTH ISSUE, BUT PART OF A CRIMINAL POLITICAL AGENDA.

We strongly advocate the support to these airlines by all smokers, activists or not. SEND LETTERS OF SUPPORT AND CONGRATULATIONS, REQUESTING THEM TO MAINTAIN A FIRM STAND AGAINST THE ANTI-TOBACCO CARTEL, AND PROMISING YOUR LOYALTY TO THEM AS A PASSENGER IF THEY STICK TO THEIR SMOKING POLICY.

WRITE TO SENATOR RICHARD DURBIN OF ILLINOIS, AUTHOR OF THIS LAST PUTRID AMENDMENT. DO NOT BE SHY, GIVE HIM HIS DUE!

THIS IS OUR LETTER SENT TO DURBIN

The quite appropriate address is dick@durbin.senate.gov

... AND THIS IS THE COMPUTERIZED ANSWER YOU WILL GET, UNLESS MAYBE YOU'RE FROM ILLINOIS.
IF YOU THINK THAT YOU STILL MEAN SOMETHING TO THE ANTI-TOBACCO FASCISTS, THINK AGAIN: LAWSUITS AGAINST THEM ARE THE ONLY WAY TO GO

WRITE TO ALITALIA (choose: Mille Miglia Customers) || WRITE TO AIR FRANCE

ASK THEM NOT TO SUBMIT TO AMERICAN BULLYING! - WRITE TO OTHER FOREIGN AIRLINES, TOO!

SAMPLE LETTER

Smokers and activists, it is now IMPERATIVE THAT WE CLAIM OUR RIGHTFUL PLACES NOT ONLY INSIDE BUILDINGS, BUT INSIDE AIRPLANES!!

A MEANINGFUL AND REALISTIC MESSAGE TO SMOKERS AND ACTIVISTS FROM DAVE PICKERELL, PRESIDENT OF SMOKERS FIGHTING DISCRIMINATION

ONE MORE HIT TO THE CARTEL - US District Court Shuts Down Chicago Billboard Ban on Tobacco and Alcohol - Another victory for our side. After the ritual butt-kissing of the anti-tobacco cartel power by pompously repeating its lies and propaganda cliches, senior U.S. District Judge Milton I. Shadur shut down the municipal order aimed at suffocating freedom of commercial expression by deciding that "the ordinance collapses under legal scrutiny." The fascist billboard ban applied to most parts of the city, and was approved by the City Council last fall on a 44-1 vote -- clear indication of the extent of the anti-smoking social infection.

Once again, we help our readers to see exactly how subtle and insidious the North American press -- now mainly an instrument of the anti-tobacco cartel -- has become when reporting on smoking, and how it pilots our opinions, subliminally. The knowledge of this deception could help us significantly when addressing the media mafia.

Though the ordinance was equally banning billboard advertising of tobacco and alcohol, this entire article focuses on smoking/cigarettes/tobacco (mentioned six times), and virtually ignores alcohol (mentioned just once). The effect on the innocent reader of this quasi-subliminal message is to perceive tobacco as a much greater social danger than alcohol, while the opposite is true.

Anti-Smoking Vaccine Needed - This is an interesting article, for it is a splendid example of how a bunch of false, propagandistic information is conveyed through an apparently innocuous and short medical communique`. A real marker of putrid deception.

A smoking vaccine. So, let's see:

First, it begins with the false information that smoking is an addiction, and an infection. Therefore, logic indicates that a vaccine, by "provoking the immune system to produce ANTIBODIES that bind to and neutralize nicotine", solves the "problem" of smoking. Never mind that smoking is a HABIT -- not an addiction, and it is a complex interaction of associations, taste, rituals, etc. If smoking was just the intake of nicotine, the "patches" would have 100% success. They don't. Far from it. But the dishonesty of the anti-smoking sect does not want the people to see what lies beyond its own self-serving goals.

Second, the insidious message that tobacco is at the level of illegal drugs: "The vaccine could be the forerunner of a new generation of treatments that transform the way drug abuse -- from marijuana to nicotine -- is treated."

Third, the marketing and the propaganda: "...a major advance which could save as many lives as the early vaccines against infectious scourges like smallpox."

Fourth, the subliminal intolerance message: "...Smoking is just like an infectious disease. It spreads from person to person."

Fifth, and perhaps the most dangerous of all: "...Brewer said there could be an ethical outcry if governments sought to immunize children against tobacco because vaccines can have adverse effects." Here is the (for now) subtle introduction of the mandatory "prevention for your own good" -- not of a disease, but of a behaviour. Besides spelling a fortune for the pharmaceutical industry, this "vaccine" would enhance the political control of the health cartel on the population. The important thing to notice here is that there is no concern about the physical conditioning imposed by the pharmaceutical cartel on innocent human beings, the problem is purely technical, that is, the possible adverse effects.

A LURID ANTI-SMOKING STORY - Airplane Captain Holds 148 Passengers Hostage in MIlan Because He Finds a Butt in the Toilet! - This is a good example of the hate against smokers by the anti-tobacco zealots. We don't argue with the possible safety risks deriving from smoking in an airplane's toilet (though we should wonder why, since smoking in the toilet seems to be such a colossal danger, in most planes there is still an ashtray in the inside of the door of the toilet). But holding passengers hostages, and asking them "who did it" as if they were school children, to the point that the Italian police had to board the plane, clearly demonstrates the obtusity and the arrogance of those who believe that literal and rigid enforcement of the law -- no matter how stupid -- coupled with stiff penalties and paternalism, is the way to run society. And when somebody finds the way to thumb his nose at repression, sordid resentment and hysterical punishment is the result. The tolerant Italians did not charge this bastard for a crime that is much greater than smoking in the bathroom, and that was a mistake. They should have applied the law just as rigidly, charge him with hijacking, put him in jail and throw away the key. Besides, we don't even know if the cigarette was actually smoked in the toilet, or if it was just a symbolic protest, in which case WE APPLAUD the perpetrator.

STILL ANOTHER BLOW TO ANTI-TOBACCO - Judge Voids Suit Against Tobacco Firms - "In Indiana, Marion County Superior Court Judge Gerald Zore dismissed the suit filed by Attorney General Jeff Modisett in a two-page order. He ruled that the state's harm was too remote from the companies' alleged fraud in concealing the dangers of smoking. The ruling marks the first of 41 such claims to be completely struck down." -- STATEMENT OF RJR ON THE DECISION

Tobacco Target of Extortion - "Experts disagree about marijuana's harm, but states jail you for using it. Gambling destroys families, but state lotteries promote it. Alcohol leads to child abuse, spousal abuse and automobile fatalities, but states sell liquor. Smoking poses little danger to family members - indeed, smokers themselves live to an average age of 71 - yet states have gone to war against tobacco. Meanwhile, those same states support federal tobacco subsidies, invest their pension assets in tobacco stocks, and even manufacture cigarettes for distribution to prisoners."

ASH MUST BE STOPPED WITH THE FORCE OF THE LAW FOR KNOWINGLY DIVULGING FALSE INFORMATION - ASH Fanatics Protest Irish Program for Ventilation, Despite Conclusive Legal and Scientific Evidence Proving that ETS Dangers Are a Fraud - "...But Dr Fenton Howell, a member of the board of ASH, says evidence that tobacco smoke causes harm was "incontrovertible". "We accept that we should have standards for things but environmental tobacco smoke is the single greatest source of indoor air pollution. No one would ever dream of thinking up a voluntary code for asbestos, and smoking is even more dangerous." -- ... One day, we will see you in jail, Dr. Howell, where you and your organization clearly belong. ASH should be forced to stop its campaign of blatantly false information WITH THE FORCE OF THE LAW in every country it has managed to pollute, from Australia to England, from Ireland to the United States.

Anti-Tobacco Gangster Henry Waxman Caught in Possibly Illegal Manipulations of Minors -- but this is not the real problem - It appears the Henry Waxman, the well-known fascist of the anti-tobacco cartel, was caught in some irregularity in handling minors in one on the endless "sting" operations using minors as a bate to ruin poor merchants who are trying to make a living. Read the article to know more. But to us, the real problem is the following line: "...In an undercover operation conducted by the American Lung Association..." which indicates that a "health" organization now has the function of policing the habits and the culture of a nation! As mentioned elsewhere in this site, the health establishment has accrued executive powers that are greater than industries and politicians. This very dangerous trend must be broken before these people acquire so much power, they become be impossible to control, and transform our society into a "healthocracy" marked with corruption, false information, repression, and moral contempt.

Smokers Learned to 'Just Live With It' - Wonderful piece of public misleading by USA Today: "Tobacco industry lawyers are determined to use the ruling to combat anti-smoking laws. But after five years of braving bitter cold and sweltering heat to have a cigarette, smokers for the most part have given up their fight to get back indoors. ' I don't think they'll ever let us back in, ' says smoker Tom May, 41, an engineer found smoking in the searing heat outside of a Washington, D.C., office building Tuesday. 'We'll never get that back.' " WRONG, MR. LOSER -- AND BY FAR, THIS TIME! Smokers have never been so angry and combative as they are now, after having been taken for a raid of discrimination, marginalization, and lies by the anti-tobacco bastards. Mr. May, WE WILL BE BACK INSIDE WHERE WE ARE ENTITLED TO BE. Just wait for the lawsuits to start from business and private individuals. No we don't think we have won, the fight is just beginning. We will have won when we will be back inside offices, restaurants, airplanes, and where else we belong. But the real victory will be when a good number of anti-smokers will hit the jailhouse.

QUEBEC: MORE SOCIAL DISRUPTION BECAUSE OF ANTI-TOBACCO - Drug Store Chain Will Not Obey the Orders -- Heil! -- of the Quebec Order of Pharmacists to Quit Selling Tobacco - "A very nasty catfight is raging between the patriarch of Quebec pharmacists and the organization that governs his profession. Jean Coutu, founder of Le Groupe Jean Coutu, with 250 franchises across Eastern Canada, is at the front line. He will not heed the orders of the Quebec Order of Pharmacists that he butt out of the lucrative tobacco trade." - Good for you, Monsieur Coutu, and thanks! This article indicates well the kind of social disruption anti-tobacco creates. The anti-tobacco gangsters have no compunction in pitting neighbour against neighbour, husband against wife, or members against the heads of their own organizations, as long as it serves their putrid agenda of personal gain through scientific or political lies. In the meantime, the smoking rates by youth and adults continue to rise because of the high profile given to tobacco by the anti-smoking fanfare. It is high time to butt anti-tobacco OUT OF OUR LIVES.

"You Sue Them, We Sue You" -- a a a h h -- "...There Is Nothing We Can Do...!" - " Minnesota could lose at least a third of the $6.1 billion tobacco settlement if injured smokers win a class-action lawsuit against the state. ' We don' t start a lawsuit unless we think the chances are good, " Ron Meshbesher, one of the lawyers, said Monday. Of the lawsuit, Attorney General Hubert Humphrey III said, " You see roadkill on the road and all the sudden the vultures are around. ' Meshbesher, a Minneapolis attorney, called that remark ' unseemly for an officer of the court. ' " - HA, HA, HA! WHO'S TALKING! Only the face of a lurid anti-smoker can pronounce words like that, after the vultures have robbed the tobacco industry and smokers of billions of dollars. "Unseemly" indeed. These bastards have no shame. But, we are not telling you anything new here...

GOOD NEWS ON OUR SIDE NEVER COMES ALONE, (THOUGH IT IS ALWAYS UNDER-REPORTED) - Maryland Lawsuit Thrown Out! - Good news never comes alone, athough -- as usual -- it gets under-reported at best. Here is yet another blow to the anti-tobacco cartel: "Five union trusts plan to appeal a federal court decision in Baltimore that prevents them from recovering the costs of health care for smokers because they are merely intermediaries between workers and employers. U.S. District Court Judge Marvin Garbis, citing rulings in similar cases in Pennsylvania and Florida, said the funds did not spend their own money on sick smokers and therefore had no legal right to recover damages." Recently, things are not going well for the anti-tobacco criminals: their lies get exposed at high level, and their looting begins to fail. Of course, most of the press -- being an accomplice to the cartel -- tries to ignore and distort anything in favour of choice and truth when it comes to tobacco. But the evidence of the anti-smoking corruption is becoming so massive, the cartel won't be able to mask it for much longer -- and then, the punishment will come.

England: Major Store Chain Reintroduces Smoking: ASH goes frantic, and Barks the Same Old Lies - "Over a half of Littlewoods stores will reintroduce smoking. The high street store chain said its decision to reverse a ban put in place two years ago was made after pressure from customers. Designated smoking areas will now be put into over half the restaurants operated by the Liverpool-based organisation. The smoking zones will be 'discreet, well ventilated, and account for a quarter of the seating area'. A spokesman said it was 'a result of the competitive market place where provision of smoking facilities is common practice'. "

Please note that every time customers complain loudly enough, or boycott a business by going somewhere else, they get their rights back. This applies everywhere in the world, even where there are municipal smoking bans, for starving business people will fight for survival, and sue the city and/or disobey the law - either way is good for us. And when the anti-tobacco criminals are faced with this reality, they either have to show their fascist colours, or give in to popular demand.

COLOSSAL BLOW TO THE ANTI-TOBACCO CARTEL

Class Action Against Philip Morris U.S.A., Other Companies, Dismissed by New York Appellate Court - NEW YORK, July 16 /PRNewswire/-- "A New York appeals court today dealt a severe blow to tobacco litigation plaintiffs by rejecting class certification in the closely watched New York state class-action cases against the major cigarette manufacturers. In addition, the appeals court took the extraordinary step of dismissing the underlying legal claims, thus throwing out the cases in their entirety." ... "In unusually strong language, the court said the proposed classes of New York smokers would be 'unmanageable because of the individual issues' that would need to be resolved in the cases." ... "The cigarette companies 'have a due process right to cross-examine each (class) member, a task that would take hundreds of years,' the court said." -- GOD BLESS AMERICA! (for a change). This extremely important precedent protects the tobacco industry and the smokers who in turn would finance the fight against this criminal attack on personal choice by the forces of the anti-tobacco cartel, while upholding due process. Perhaps -- just perhaps -- this is the beginning of the end of the disgusting looting by lawyers, medical organizations, insurance companies, other anti-tobacco mobs, and their racket. Great news to end the week with.

WHAT THE NORTH AMERICAN PRESS "FORGETS" TO REPORT (Both posted on July 18)

These older British articles from June 28 and July 7 report something that the North American press at large conveniently "forgot" to report; that is, that the British tobacco industry is fighting the false information produced by the anti-tobacco cartel. Once again, the only way to end the infinite production of politically corrupted studies and reports is to the cut the funds to the leaches that produce them. If anti-smoking is their religion, the cartel can produce the propaganda studies out of their own pockets -- which could be a very nice way to see how many of these crusaders are sincere enough to risk their own resources. We are ready to bet a million to a dollar that we would no longer be overwhelmed by the same amount of regurgitated materials masquerading as "new studies".

Tobacco Firms Want to Quash Flawed Report - "Four leading tobacco companies were granted leave by the High Court yesterday to challenge the legality of a government advisory committee's report that called for bans on tobacco advertising and smoking in public places."

Cigarette Firms Sue Over Passive Smoking Report - "Cigarette manufacturers will go to the High Court this week to try to stop a "flawed" scientific report on passive smoking being adopted by the Government."

Big Bigots, Small Bigots - The environment of moral contempt and health hysteria in which kids grow up in the '90s makes many victims among the kids, who learn to be paranoid and mistrustful.
This is the case of 14 year-old Krystle Newquist.

California: Anti-Tobacco Criminals Sue Over Second Hand Smoke - "LOS ANGELES, July 15 (UPI) - Los Angeles city prosecutors have filed the first-ever lawsuit by a U.S. governmental entity targeting tobacco companies in connection with health risks posed by secondhand smoke. " "City Attorney James Hahn said today that the state law clearly requires that anyone doing business in California warn the public before exposing them to any chemical that causes cancer or reproductive toxicity." -- Well, this should be an easy case to win (providing that they don't change the law to win, no matter what): second hand smoke does not cause cancer, it is proven. But when the case is won, the prosecutors and their instigators should be promptly prosecuted for falsification of evidence, possible racketeering, and any other possible charge an astute lawyer can throw at them, to set an example for all other domestic and international anti-tobacco gangsters.
