MOTHERS Vs. THE STATE - This compelling editorial, written by Tom Oyler, describes very well the incredibly dangerous slope the New Neo-Fascist Order is walking on. Unsatisfied with the regulation of every aspect of business and production, the Socio-Fascists now attack the very core of society: families and mothers, prying yet another wedge in the social cracks they have made to demolish the fabrics of society, and build a New Order. The crack is the war on smoking; the wedges are law and junk science. The medium is propaganda. This social devastation is still not recognized by many.

AND WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE THIS? - A newly released study by the University of Wisconsin - Madison inspired hosannas to the wonders of Zyban, an anti-depressant, aggressively being marketed as a smoking cessation tool. From the researchers, who conducted the study, to doctors who have been prescribing it since the FDA approved it as an aid to quit smoking, Zyban is a "miraculous" drug.

What's miraculous is that the study is being taken seriously at all. Glaxo Wellcome, the pharmaceutical firm that manufactures and markets Zyban, funded the study. The drug company paid the researchers to produce the study. It certainly would be a miracle if the results had been not pleasing to Glaxo Wellcome.

One can easily imagine the outcry to the release of any study that countered the anti-tobacco cartel's position on smoking if that study was financed in any way by the tobacco industry. If tobacco funded research and studies are by their very nature corrupt, then, considering its source, this study is bogus as well.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE - Although this article purports to be news, its officious tone is hilarious. The nub of the article is that despite more and more irrational smoking bans and several decades of anti-smoking "education", college students are lighting up in record numbers. What's not so funny is the response of the anti-tobacco stooges masquerading as university educators.

Instead of recognizing that college students are adults and have the right to smoke, the administrators are cracking down and eliminating places for them to smoke. Instead of admitting that their lies and propaganda are falling on deaf ears, the stooges whine about how reprehensible it is that the students ignore them. If one can believe the stats, 30 percent of college students now smoke. That rate will increase as restrictions grow more stringent. As they academia and integrate themselves into the general society, they will increase the percentage of overall smokers in America and will not be so easily pushed around. The economic benefits of catering to smokers will also become more obvious. Should we be thanking the anti-tobacco cartel for beefing up our numbers?

INFECTION MAY LEAD TO HEART DISEASE - More information on the new discovery of science that FORCES' researchers anticipated long ago: a significant contributor to heart disease is infection -- another nail in the anti-tobacco cartel coffin of arguments that attribute to smoking the huge preponderance of heart disease.

SMOKERS' DOLLARS AT WORK - Heroes are made with celluloid in California. This is not new. But this is no longer limited to Hollywood. Kids in school are taught lies about smoking with the smokers' dollars. Edgar does not know how to spell properly, and probably does not know history either -- if he knew, he'd probably be scared of what he is doing. Is it so bad that a kid tells his peers not to smoke? Not at all. What is bad is that the sold-out California press makes a hero out of him for a dirty crusade instead of academic achievement, while the anti-tobacco cartel stimulates the youth to race with anti-tobacco ads instead of math and history books.

The anti-tobacco cartel has great interest in boosting ignorance among children, for that makes the most fertile ground in which to seed hatred, contempt, and fear. If it weren't because the US is the most ignorant population of the industrialized world, anti-tobacco would not have started at all.

And for this great crime against the youth, the cartel operatives will have to be made to pay dearly. It is just a matter of time.

PROP. 10 REPEAL EFFORT LAUNCHED - California voters may get a chance to repeal the narrowly passed tobacco tax foisted on the state by Rob Reiner, a Hollywood meddler who wants to raise everyone's children. The owner of a cigarette discount chain hopes to have the repeal on the March ballot in 2000.

The tobacco tax hiked the price of a pack of cigarettes by 50 cents and provided for a corresponding increase in all tobacco products. The proceeds from the tax will be distributed to politically connected committees throughout the state to pay for a mishmash of politically correct and new age childhood care programs.

Predictably, the American Lung Association announced that it will oppose the repeal. The American Lung Association receives millions of dollars from a tobacco tax enacted 10 years ago and is forbidden by law from lobbying for or against state laws concerning tobacco. Flouting the law is, of course, an ingrained trait of the anti-tobacco cartel that justifies the use of the adjective "criminal" when describing its activities.

THE MEATHEAD IS CORONATED - For initiating and passing a discriminatory tax against one quarter of the state's population and for advancing the cause of paternalistic socialism, Rob Reiner will be crowned Czar Of The Children by Gov. Gray Davis. As anticipated, Davis picked Reiner to head the commission that will administer the loot (in excess of $750-million) stolen from California's smokers under the guise of saving the children.

WHO LISTENS TO WHO? - Article on the BC Report (British Columbia, Canada) on the disgusting anti-tobacco campaign by the World Health Organization, supported by the US to spread false information and alarming statistics on tobacco. Once a respectable organization, the WHO has now totally sold out to the moral and scientific prostitution of the anti-tobacco cartel -- in fact, it has become an integral part of it.

"...The economist Northcote Parkinson said that every bureaucrat's job is to hire another bureaucrat and make a bigger department with more to do, so they get more money," says Mr. Fleming, to Rockford, Illinois, editor of Chronicles: A Magazine of American Culture. "They find issues they can champion: women's rights, pollution, child abuse. That works at the municipal, the provincial, the national and the international level."

MORE ON BACTERIA INFECTION: SCIENTISTS PROVE LINK IN STUDIES - "Researchers say they have for the first time demonstrated a direct link between bacterial infection and heart disease, confirming a suspicion that has been floating through the cardiology community for the better part of a decade.

The proof of a link suggests that at least some of the 961,000 deaths from heart disease in the United States every year could be prevented by treatment with antibiotics or, even better, by immunization against the responsible organisms."

FORCES' contributors, such as Carol Thompson, said long ago that heart disease, largely blamed on smoking (what's new?) is actually caused by bacteria (see "The evidence" - Smoking and Heart). This of course was ingnored by the crooks of the anti-tobacco cartel because it would quite adversely affect their lucrative persecution. Now more and more evidence from uncorrupted science is emerging.

But don't worry, antismoking criminals, here is a good emergency strategy: some university of California should come up with a "study", proving that the heart disease-causing bacteria are micro-smokers! We definitely propose the illustrious Stanton Glantz, mechanical engineer turned heart specialist when it comes to smoking and ETS, to head the research team. Who knows how much money may be in there!

SMOKE NAZIS UBER ALLES - "What we want to do is create paranoia," said Sgt. Sam Campbell. "We want smokers to be paranoid about being cited for breaking the law. If paranoia gets compliance, I can live with it."

This article from The Los Angeles Times needs little explanation. It is the story of a city, San Diego, that is taking its orders from the American Lung Association, American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. To those who are sickened by American citizens being persecuted by civil servants, it's important to remember that only a few years ago this story would have been considered the ravings of a paranoid maniac.

LOS ANGELES - SECONDHAND SHAKEDOWN - Last summer anti-tobacco operatives hectored the Los Angeles City Attorney to file a "novel" suit against the tobacco industry. The grounds of the suit are no more ridiculous that any of the other shakedown schemes but they do contain a California twist.

A decade ago, the Health Hysterics placed an initiative on the ballot that requires health warnings on any product that could have even a remote chance of causing ill health. Of course the trembling sheep that inhabit California voted for the initiative known as California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act. Visitors to the Hypochondriac State are amused to see notices in restaurants informing customers that drinking alcohol may cause cancer and other adverse effects. Warnings about the toxic properties of cleaning solutions are required.

The geniuses in the City Attorney's office are suing the tobacco manufacturers for not including secondhand smoke warnings on packs of cigarettes. Of course Los Angeles is not suing to force compliance of the Toxic Enforcement Act. They are suing for $2.5 billion in civil penalties.

The response of the tobacco industry was as predictable as the greed that prompted the suit in the first place. Rather than fighting the suit by exposing the fraud of the secondhand smoke scare, the industry argued that only the federal government could demand a secondhand smoke warning. A few weeks after the suit was announced, a federal judge vacated the EPA's secondhand smoke study that formed the base for Los Angeles' legal action. Months later the suit inexorably moves ahead with the industry losing every step of the way.

SMOKING BAN RELIEF PROPOSED - "AB 1216 is all about choice. It allows the employees and the owners, not the government, to choose a smoking policy that is right for their establishment and their customers," said Thomas Humber, president of the National Smokers Alliance. Well said. The NSA is sponsoring a bill that will allow bar owners to set their own smoking policies in accordance with the customers' desires. The bill, Assembly Bill 1216, authored by three Democrats and one Republican, modifies the statewide law that has caused financial havoc since it went into effect one year ago. Since that time the majority of stand alone bars have had to defy the law or be driven out of business. The anti-tobacco cartel recently threatened to sue localities that don't stringently enforce the ban. Countless citizens have been fined for the horrendous crime of smoking a cigarette. The National Smokers Alliance has worked tirelessly on behalf of California's beleaguered smokers during the past four years of irrational smoking bans. During that time the organization has unearthed evidence that the state's Health Department has distorted the effects of the ban and withheld evidence from the legislature. The NSA deserves thanks and support for their work in improving the lot of smokers in a state that appears to have lost its mind.

IOWA - NICOTINE DELIVERY STATE - Anyone who wants to make a political statement should talk to his or her legislator or write a letter to the editor instead of adding to court caseloads, Green said. "I find this wasteful."

So says an anti-tobacco operative commenting on a scheme by a guilty smoker attempting to make the state of Iowa pay for his tobacco substitute with the funds it has ripped of from the nation's smokers. The appropriate advice should have been that political statements cost money and the most effective methods are to be found with the anti-tobacco cartel: Repeat lies incessantly; Slander the opposition; Lobby and persecute your fellow citizens with government funds; form partnerships with the pharmaceutical nicotine producers; and, most importantly of all, defecate upon the U.S. Constitution.

R.I.P - What the nefarious agents of SPECTRE and other world dominators couldn't accomplish in nearly two dozen movies, the American Lung Association accomplished with a snap of its tax funded fingers. James Bond is dead, a victim of the anti-tobacco cartel. What's worse is that he has been reincarnated as a hectoring nanny who plasters his car with no smoking signs. Does he affix a "Friends Don't Let Friends Eat Meat" bumper sticker or sip non-alcoholic martinis? We'll have to wait and see although 007 fans may not be able to stomach a feature length film of the guilt ridden and testosterone deficient Pierce Brosnan who, although a smoker himself, applauds the new James Bond as good for the children.

Economic Stability? - As one of the justifications for capitulating to the attorneys' general tobacco shakedown, cigarette manufacturers chanted the mantra of "business predictibility". By rolling over, Philip Morris and the other cigarette companies, attempted to sell their stock holders and customers on the notion that the settlement is a good thing for all concerned. It appears that Philip Morris now has a respectable reason to close down a plant and throw thousands of workers and their family members out on the street. Blame it on the settlement and reduced sale of cigarettes. Considering that price hikes due to the settlement have only been in effect for a few months, it's a bit of a stretch to blame plant closures on reduced sales. What's far more likely is that Philip Morris is attempting again to placate the anti-tobacco cartel by providing credibility to their groundless claims.

STUDIES WIDEN ROLE OF GERMS IN DISEASE - While the anti-tobacco cartel and its state and pharmaceutical industry scientist minions are busy fooling the population into believing that smoking is the cause of everything, some honest scientists are working hard, and developing competing theories about the cause of some common diseases.

"From gallstones to arthritis to heart disease, many illnesses long presumed to have roots in genes or lifestyle may be caused largely by infectious agents, a growing number of scientists believe." ... "...for some conditions - including heart disease, the nation's top killer - many scientists feel certain that microbes play at least a contributing role where none was suspected previously."

Come on, guys, this is not possible... what about the "overwhelming evidence" on smoking being the cause of everything? What tobacco manufacturer are you working for? Careful about your careers!

LET US TALK ABOUT REAL PROBLEMS - While the international criminals of the anti-tobacco cartel are wasting billions in anti-smoking propaganda based on false science and manipulated statistics to portray smoking as an epidemic, the real McCoy -- AIDS -- continues to claim hundreds of thousands of lives each year. "Nearly 600,000 children under 15 and 2.5 million people aged 15-24 caught the Human Immunodeficiency Virus last year", says this article.

In a supreme insult to any morality, decency, and respect for human life, the criminals of the various department/ministries of health (not to mention the WHO) dedicate much more time and huge sums of public money to the Great Anti-tobacco Lie than AIDS. The American Cancer Society insults the intelligence of the public (and any medical ethics) by stating that secondhand smoke kills more than AIDS. Other anti-tobacco scam organizations even try to infer that smoking "causes" AIDS! The anti-tobacco epidemic continues to obliterate truth, common sense, and freedom, while it continues to spread across the planet -- just like AIDS.

But differently than this terrible disease, the antidote to the anti-smoking epidemic is available immediately, with the possibility of 100% success: JAIL for anti-tobacco professionals, activists, "scientists", and those who are thriving while divulging hatred, intolerance, violence, and false information. And POLITICAL TOILET for those politicians who are supporting the anti-tobacco's putrid agenda of scientific falsehood, taxation, and repression.
