ANTI-TOBACCO CARTEL ACTIVATED IN FRANCE - The same statistical frauds and junk science used to attribute all kind of disease to smoking is presently being used in France against the tobacco industry. This test case will set the precedent for further looting of smokers in Europe, where the anti-tobacco cancer, helped by the political strong arm of the World Health Organization and its scientific and statistical frauds, will try to spread on the model of the US pattern.

The French Socialist government has seen "the light" of how to use fraudulent statistics to loot money from both the tobacco industry and its own citizen. The spreading of state corruption, and looting on smoking seems unstoppable.

Is moral and political integrity a totally lost value?

APPEAL ON JUDGE OSTEEN'S DECISION ON EPA CLASSIFICATION OF ETS IN PROGRESS - Tobacco companies ask Fourth Circuit to affirm Judge Osteen's decision on EPA classification of ETS as "known" human carcinogen.

The following statement was issued June 7, 1999 by Philip Morris Incorporated; R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation regarding the oral argument before the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit on the lawsuit involving the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) classification of environmental tobacco smoke as a "known" human carcinogen.

YUM-YUM! THE HONESTY OF THE ANTI-TOBACCO CARTEL KEEPS SHOWING OFF - PROBE OF MORALES INVESTIGATES LINK TO TEXAS' TOBACCO PAYOFF - We do it all to protect the children... in the face of the fools who believe it - ' Mr. Morales was pressing to allow Mr. Murr to get $520 million of the state's record $17.3 billion settlement for what Mr. Morales called a "vital" role in the negotiations that ended with the out-of-court deal in January 1998. Mr. Murr and Mr. Morales are close friends and once were law partners in a Houston firm. Mr. Murr, a Houston lawyer, recently instructed his lawyer to return $81,975 to tobacco industry officials who had forwarded him that amount as a first payment toward a $1 million award Mr. Murr had been promised by a national arbitration panel last year. '

' The check was accompanied, tobacco company officials said, by a one-page letter from Mr. Murr saying he was waiving any claim to any more money. Five other Texas lawyers -- hired by Mr. Morales and promised large contingency fees -- claimed they had enjoyed little, if any, help from Mr. Murr, whom Mr. Morales had described as his "co-pilot" in leading the fight. Two of them said privately they had never even met Mr.Murr. "I never even heard his name," one said, "until the settlement was done with and it became obvious we were going to share part of a big, big hunk of money." '

ANOTHER CHALLENGE TO THE SETTLEMENT - This Johnny-come-lately suit targets only the tobacco industry rather that all parties who agreed to the unjust tobacco settlement. Unlike the class action suit filed by FORCES Action Project and hundreds of smokers, the arguments in the Indians' suit are the same recycled garbage that inexplicably cowed the tobacco companies into rolling over before the states' attorneys general. The smokers' lawsuit against the tobacco settlement will be heard June 25, 1999 in San Francisco's Federal District Court.

LAWYER-FREE HOUSING WINS A ROUND - Taking a page from Action on Smoking and Health (ASH), a Southern California housing developer has banned a particular group of people from his new housing development. The developer has found through bitter experience that people in this group are nuisances and more trouble than they are worth. ASH, headed by a litigious lawyer, targets smokers for housing discrimination. The California housing developer targets lawyers. The last posting on this subject found the rejected lawyer taking his case to court. Today we report that lawyer-free housing is still legal in California. In working to deny smokers their rights, be careful what you pray for, ASH, you just might get it.

TOBACCO SAVES ECONOMY - " Trading increase on Zimbabwe's foreign exchange market on Friday, buoyed by better tobacco inflows, and dealers said liquidity was certain to improve next week. "

``Maybe next week or so when good quality tobacco starts coming in we might start seeing meaningful inflows...''

" Tobacco is Zimbabwe's most important foreign earner, bringing in more than a third of the country's total export receipts."

... But the irresponsible liars of the World Health Organization and the cartel they represent keep saying that tobacco is not an important contributor to economy.

VICTORY IN MISSISSIPPI! - TOBACCO COMPANIES WIN BUTLER CASE; JURY REJECTS ALL CLAIMS IN ETS LAWSUIT - Once again, when we remove dirty politics and propaganda from the passive smoke issue, there is simply no evidence that passive smoke is harmful.

Congratulations to the tobacco industry for winning the case, and putting the anti-tobacco cartel liars, and its marionettes, to their place.

However, Mr. Jeff Furr's (attorney for R.J. Reynolds) statement that "ETS is an annoyance to some and an irritant to others" is incomplete, for tobacco prohibition, the outright frauds of certain universities and sold-out scientists on tobacco "causing" disease, and the voracity of corrupted governments on tobacco taxation are far more annoying and irritating than the smoke coming from people who are exercising their right to consume a legal product.

It really appears that the tobacco industry has become a professional apologist for the frauds and propaganda of which its customers are victims.

WELCOME TO THE FREE (?!!) WORLD KOSOVO REFUGEES FIND CANADA IS TRULY A HOME AWAY FROM HOME - It's either laugh or cry. Uprooted from their homes by ethnic cleansing and Bill Clinton's bombs, refugees from Kosovo received a rude welcome from Canada upon their arrival. No cigarettes for the war weary in Health Canada's perfect sanctuary. Mark Steyn of the National Post reflects on a culture that is so uptight and hysterical that it lectures war-weary refugees about the hazards of cigarettes. In doing so he points out that the average life expectancy of poverty stricken, heavy smoking Albania almost equals that of prissy, health obsessed Canada.

ONLY FORCE WILL SOLVE THE ANTI-TOBACCO PROBLEM - ANTISMOKING CAMPAIGN HAS THE OPPOSITE EFFECT

This article from the Christian Science Monitor is about fascism in its latest expression: anti-tobacco. We said a million times that the criminal anti-tobacco cartel will not hesitate to suppress any liberty and choice that stands in the way of its dark goals of social control.

Read this article, and think. The New Zealand government, and the cartel it represents, says it is OK to suppress freedom of press if the press chooses to talk about tobacco. But, while the New Zealand government is insisting that there is "support" for its fascist initiatives, the people are sending a clear message: the tobacco consumption is going up. Fearful that the lies about tobacco are exposed by information, the fascist NZ government wants to suppress that information, while the WHO advocates control over the Internet. Information cannot be suppressed for any reason, or a precedent is created, and the suppression will be repeated, and then it will become the norm for any other issue not conforming with the government's agenda.

At the dawn of the Third Millenium, fascism and freedom of choice face each other once again. It is unavoidable at this point that the clash between the forces of choice and those of control will have to become physical. This is no longer about tobacco. Regardless of the lies about it, tobacco has become the symbol of personal choice. In many places, smoking means to be against the government. Thus smoking means to STATE ONE'S RIGHT TO CHOOSE. The outcome of this battle will determine if the century ahead will be dominated by enlightenment, or it will be the beginning of the New Dark Ages.

PATHOCOMICAL - When we first received this news, we wanted to put it into "The Humorous" section, for we thought that it was a No-Tobacco-Day joke.

But it wasn't. Here is the live link with the Washington Post. While we can speculate that the anti-smoking "ceremony" in Thailand was organized by the local chapter of ASH (yes, wherever there is ASH, hate metastasizes), the pathetic ceremony, attended by no more than two dozen people, backfired -- literally!

And pay attention to the name of the singer who participated: PAYong Mukda! Isn't that perfect?

PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES PAY CRIMINAL FINE FOR GLOBAL PRICE FIXING - The noble, pure, anti-tobacco-financing pharmaceutical industry has been caught with its hands in the cookie jar fixing prices in the United States. These new partners of the World Health Organization sure know now to set an example of dishonesty and fraud. But then, if they were honest, how could they possibly be such friends of the anti-tobacco cartel?

"Roche Holdings AG (Switzerland) and BASF AG (Germany) have agreed to pay the US government US$725 million last week to avoid prosecution on charges that the two companies participated in a global cartel that raised, fixed, and maintained prices of animal and human supplements, announced the US Department of Justice on May 20."

Time to celebrate. Let's light up a cigar this World No-Tobacco day!

BENIGHTED ELITE - Postmodernist critics of science get their comeuppance - ' ...check out what leaders of Science Studies have to say on their own behalf. Quite a few are fond of asserting that critical observers of science should stay agnostic as between, say, astronomy and astrology. "What makes a belief true," declares one prominent figure, Trevor Pinch of Cornell University, "is NOT its correspondence with an element of reality, but its adoption and authentication by the relevant community. ' -- By Walter Olson

THE FEW, THE PROUD, THE HENPECKED - It's the armed service that isn't suffering low morale, sexual harasment scandals or a high attrition rate. What is the Clinton administration to do? Work overtime, of course, to screw the Marines up. They sign on to defend the country, they may be killed doing their jobs but the nannies are worried about one thing only. They smoke and they must halt. Some are worried that the armed services are becoming too feminized. The real danger is that they, like American society at large, is succumbing to infantilism. Fueled with cigarettes and determination, we defeated the Hitler's Nazis 50 years ago. It's time to beat the Health Nazis today.

ANTI-TOBACCO FOREIGN AID - The anti-tobacco cartel drummed up the troops and marched them before San Francisco's City Hall. Surrounded by children, the stooges demanded a huge slice of San Francisco's share of the tobacco settlement for their masters. Four specific uses for the money are noteworthy for their transparent adherance to the cartel's bottom line.

The stooges need the millions to combat tobacco advertising even though the state, through its tobacco surtax, spends over $200-million per year "educating" the populace on the perfidy of the tobacco industry. Secondly, the settlement money is needed to create smoking cessation programs that will provide a golden opportunity for the Pharmaceutical Companies to push their nicotine products.

The money, say the stooges, is also needed to enforce anti-tobacco legislation. The implication of this demand should bring chills to every American. By what perversion of our Constitution are private organizations given money and power to enforce laws? It is outrageous for irresponsible cities such as San Francisco to turn over law enforcement functions to the Health Department. It is doubly outrageous to contemplate granting enforcement powers to special interest pressure groups.

Finally, the thugs are demanding that 5 percent of the loot should be sent to selected countries to conduct anti-tobacco hate campaigns in foreign lands. Talk about spreading it around!

The groups making the demands, The African American Tobacco Free Project, The Chinese Progressive Association and the Columbia Park Boys and Girls Club, are fronts for The Body Parts Organizations and The Pharmaceutical Industry. Like Adolf Hitler's Brown Shirts, these groups are the shock troops for the big criminals.

LAWYER-FREE HOUSING - In a strange twist we find ourselves in sympathy with a lawyer. The poor man and his family have been told they are not welcome in a new housing development. The builder objects to the man's profession. Lawyers are just too much trouble it seems.

One is reminded of the thuggish tactics of the anti-tobacco organization Action On Smoking and Health. ASH, headed by a litigious lawyer, believes that smokers should be denied housing solely because they enjoy a legal product. Although turnabout is fair play, and the reasons the housing developer lists for objecting to lawyers are certainly valid, discrimination is wrong and should not be allowed to occur. Should the rejected lawyer prevail in his suit against the developer, smokers facing the same treatment will have a better standing to defend themselves against housing discrimination.

INTERNATIONAL SHAME: HEALTH CANADA FORBIDS THE DONATION OF CIGARETTES TO THE KOSOVO REFUGEES!
KOSOVO REFUGEES COULD REALLY USE . . . A SMOKE - "Cigarettes top their wish list - agency urges donations" -- WRONG COUNTRY, GUYS! -- "A roof to shelter. Cloth to clothe. Food for sustenance. All of the basic needs met. But what Kosovo refugees living in Canadian military bases could use now is a smoke."

These poor people are headed to Canada to start a new life in peace. What these poor persecuted people don't know is that they are heading out of a persecution into another. The criminal Canadian anti-tobacco cartel is rubbing his hands waiting for new victims to "straighten up," and show them how low, useless, pathetic addicts they are. But now that these people from the 3rd World have the questionable privilege of living in this "advanced" country of the 4th World they will have to be TOLD what to do or they will be persecuted -- again.

Contrary to any decency -- and denying even the indirect request of the Canadian Red Cross -- the putrid, heartless, stomach turning, paternalistic Health Canada refuses to give relief to these people by giving them the simplest thing for the spirit: a cigarette.

" John McDonald, director of public affairs at Rothmans, said yesterday that their company is prohibited under the Tobacco Act from giving donations of cigarettes.

``We'd like to assist but we contacted Health Canada and they wouldn't make an exception,'' said McDonald.

ARE YOU NOT ASHAMED OF YOURSELF, HEALTH CANADA?!!

SCARED STRAIGHT? - "The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, however, demonstrates the absurd lengths to which anti-smoking crusaders will go in the name of protecting children from cigarettes. Too often that means sacrificing other important values -- free speech, the rule of law, and now sexual restraint. Parents can do without that kind of help." - by Aaron Lukas

WHINING THIEVES - The tobacco settlement is theft of such gargantuan proportions that it's only natural that the lower elements of our socieity are clamoring for a "share" of the take. The loudest is the anti-tobacco cartel. From Stanton "It's Our Money" Glantz, to the body parts organizations, the cry is out that the states must shuffle the majority of the settlement money their way. So far, only a few states like Washington are satisfying the cartel's greedy demands. It's up to each state's citizens to remember that the settlement is supposed to go to the taxpayers. Not one penny must go to the anti-tobacco special interests.

WHINING PRUDES - You're at the theater to enjoy a play by Noel Coward. The sophisticated patter sweeps you away from today's squalid childishness into a grownup time when it happens. A hysterical attack of malignant hypochondria from the anti-smoker next to you who just can't take the sight of a lit cigarette, even on stage. Too bad the actors didn't just douse her with a blast of water from a well aimed seltzer bottle.
