Dr. Jane Orient, Association President, said in a statement, "Concern about health does not justify using Third Reich measures against corporations engaged in a legal business. What's next? Fining auto makers for each speeding driver, nailing Hershey for every diabetic who eats a candy bar, or gouging McDonald's for all obese people who order a Big Mac?" ' Yes doctor, that is exactly what's next. Thank you, thank you, doctor, for everything you say. Finally someone who deserves that title! The end does not justify the means - especially when the end is rotten, and the means are a threat to liberty, individuality, and freedom of choice. And physical health is not the only element of health. Actually, being physically healthy in a liberty-free world dominated by hatred, persecution and suspicion is a true assault to public health. DOCTORS CRITICIZE CLINTON TOBACCO FINES FOR UNDERAGE SMOKERS (U.S. Newswire ) ' As physicians, we find reprehensible the use of excessive government intrusion and control to force changes in behavior affecting health and well-being. Many other voluntary activities are associated with adverse health effects, some more probable and more immediate than the hazards of tobacco use. ' We are pleased that SOME of the press has made the
discovery, though we are ready to bet that the mass media will
underplay (or totally ignore) this unpteenth piece of evidence that,
once again, highlights the moral and professional corruption of the
anti-tobacco cartel and its minions, which ignore any reality that
does not conform with their fascist agenda.
Click here for a link to this well-illustrated
study. This is the case of the Royal College of Physicians. By calling
smokers sick, they can state that smokers need medical treatment, that
is - guess what? - the smoking cessation treatments marketed by
the pharmaceutical industry pulling their strings. By calling
smoking an "anti-social habit," the message that smokers are
the public enemy to beat is also sent.
' "Why do we allow this major cause of death to continue
unregulated and uncontrolled?" asked John Britton, chair of the
tobacco advisory group within the Royal College of Physicians. '
This clown and the association he represents fails to enter in the
specifics, of course - and no one is calling him on it. The computer-generated deaths,
the unproven causes
of disease, the false cost
to society, the fraudulent
dangers of passive smoke - nothing matters to these social
gangsters who only listen to themselves and to their pocket books,
while they are supported by overtaxing governments, and by media that
have decided to ignore any shred of ethic when reporting on the issue
of smoking.
Let's keep on smoking - right in the face of the cartel.
The cartel will be forced to show its true colours - it is already
happening. And those colours are as black as the shirts of the fascist
regimes they are inspired to.
"All smokers should be given nicotine replacement therapy
(NRT), as patches, gum, or in other forms, on the NHS, the report
recommends." Great business for the pharmaceutical
gangsters, don't you think? And what if we REFUSE? Are they
going to force us? Don't bet against it! We wonder if castor
oil is going to be a "good complement for the good
nicotine" - the one sold by the pharmaceutical industry! Finally a fair coverage of the issue
by this journalist. For those who want to write to her a few lines of
congratulations, here is her address: slundine@amcity.com
Ruled unconstitutional
is the eventual fate of all smoking bans affecting private property.
The anti-tobacco enterprise has been quite successful in bullying
elected officials to turn their back on the Declaration of
Independence and other documents passed down from our founding
fathers. Workplace smoking bans are by their very nature
anathema to the American way of life and could only come into being
after the Environmental Protection Agency violated its own rules by
altering established methodology to create the falsehood that
secondhand smoke is a health hazard. The Federal Courts have
vacated the EPA's attempt to foist that lie on the American public. Cities such as Tucson
that relied upon the testimony of anti-tobacco operatives are facing
the well deserved resistance of those they govern. Tucson would
be well advised to save the taxpayers some money by removing its
unneeded and unwanted smoking ban. In the long run smoking bans
on private property are destined for the trash bins. Now
that their slush fund is in danger of being returned to the people,
the various county commissions are scrambling to con the voters into
believing that the loss of the Reiner tax will be a disaster for kids. In
a report from a taxpayer in California, we find that these
commissioners are so out-of-touch that they are touting something
called "home visitation" as the centerpiece for their
ambitious social engineering experiment. Recently the Federal
OSHA arm of the Labor Department reaped national scorn for its
proposal to bring the private home under its jurisdiction.
The utopian fanatics running Reiner's tax have no qualms about
inserting themselves into the private lives of Californians. Freedom
loving Californians, whether smoker or non-smoker, must turn out in
mass March 7 to make their voices heard. Vote Yes on Proposition
28. Callahan said he didn't try to stop Tuesday night's protest.
"We let them have their smoke-in," he said. But residents
shouldn't expect to continue violating the park's new policy, he said.
"We will take the appropriate action at the appropriate
time," Callahan said. He declined to elaborate. ' The behaviour of those courageous Florida citizens should be an
example for all our readers. The patronising and insolent arrogance of
park manager Jim Callahan should also be an example of what the rush
of power granted by a corrupt system does to the otherwise
insignificant small man. Indeed, Teresa Morgan is an example of how
America was, while Callahan represents what America has become. Clinton plans a new assault on the pockets of American smokers, and
at the same time plans to enrich Big Pharmaceuticals by nationally
mandating that the taxpayers pay for worthless cessation products via
Medicaid/Medicare.
The health cartel, financed by the pharmaceutical industry, pulls
the strings of American politics much more than meets the eye. The
plans for the monopolisation of nicotine distribution by Big
Pharmaceutical is becoming clearer evey day. England and other European countries were as much responsible for
WWII as Germany was, since their blindness gave Hitler the time he
needed to consolidate his power and capture the continent. Different
times, different and certainly more important issues. But the common
denominator is the same: lack of vision, cowardice, indifference, and
the complacent hope that the problem "will take care of
itself." Motions in society are just like motions in physics: a
body propelled by a force maintains motion until an equal and opposite
force terminates the body's motion. Gian Turci, our CEO, could not resist the temptation of writing to the editor as well --
something every reader of FORCES could do in this case. Junk science
is a new name for an old invention: a tool for the legitimisation of
the repression of choice and a justification for the hatred of joy
already used to support the First Prohibition, and now used again to
support the second one.
Here is a link to the FORCES section PROHIBITION, PAST AND PRESENT.
Also, check STATEMENTS ABOUT
PROHIBITION IN 1928. My oh my! Such a terrible thing... perhaps it is better if the
youth goes towards crack cocaine, alcohol, and other substances that
are certainly "less harmful" than tobacco...! The beauty of
youth, to the surprise of the anti-tobacco operatives, lies partly in
its irrepressible urge to experiment, and anybody who isn't either
corrupt nor insane would prefer that the youth experiment with tobacco
rather than heroin. And the smoking youth seems to be smart enough to
understand that.
It would be interesting, by the way, to have some (serious - ha!)
study to establish how many of the nonsmoking youth are addicted to
real drugs. No, no, this will not happen: the probable truth may
actually come out, that is, that the experimentation with a low-risk
substance (tobacco) prevents the experimentation with really high-risk
drugs, and that nonsmokers are prevalent users of illegal drugs.
It is by now clear that 50 years of research could not prove
causality for any "tobacco-related" disease - not that this
matters to CDC or the rest of the sold-out media. The folkloristic
belief that "tobacco is no good for you" has been turned
into dogma by the systematic corruption of science and institutions.
And (what a coincidence!) in perfect sync with the CDC's latest
informational twist of reality here comes the latest "study"
from the international antismoking cartel. This study deserves a
special place in the bottomless trashcan where antitobacco
"science" belongs:
|
How is that for generic and evasive misinformation? Just read the article about this "study": what does it mean, except being gratuitous propaganda? Nothing at all we believe, apart from highlighting once again the sad lack of integrity (if not intelligence) of those who, ideologically or otherwise, are on the payroll of the anti-tobacco cartel.
How strange... we were under the impression that just the tobacco
industry is in the business of denying for decades... or so the propaganda
says.
"...The cancers were found among nearly 600,000 people who
have worked in nuclear weapons production since the start of World War II.
They range from leukemia and Hodgkin's lymphoma to cancer of the prostate,
kidney, salivary gland and lung."
Naah! Only tobacco "causes" cancer, especially lung
cancer... next to tobacco, Uranium is a picnic snack! It is interesting
that the honest fellows of the American Lung Association don't fire their
lightening bolts on this one, but it certainly comes at no surprise: there
is no money to make on this one, and the US government is their buddy!
God knows how many workers in the atomic industry are smokers. The
honest fellows of CDC have attributed -- and will continue to attribute --
those cancers to tobacco use. And to add insult to stupidity and
hypocrisy, you can bet that big no smoking signs are posted on
all the walls of those plants!
NAAH! WHAT'S URANIUM
NEXT TO SMOKING? Added
February 1, 2000 - U.S. ACKNOWLEDGES RADIATION
CAUSED CANCERS IN WORKERS - "After decades
of denials, the government is conceding that since the dawn of the atomic
age, workers making nuclear weapons have been exposed to radiation and
chemicals that have produced cancer and early death."
AMERICANS
SAY "NO" TO TOBACCO TAXES Added
January 26 - A new Roper Survey reveals that a majority
of Americans are opposed to increasing tobacco taxes. Additionally,
when informed that federal, state and local governments make four times as
much on a pack of cigarettes than do the tobacco companies, a slight
majority believe that the current tobacco taxes are far too high.
Only 11 percent believe that high tobacco taxes reduce underage smoking.
These survey results are astounding considering they completely contradict the relentless propaganda of the mainstream media. The anti-tobacco cartel has pushed the line that raising taxes is guaranteed to reduce underage smoking. As smoking rates rise, the public is opening its eyes and obtaining its information first hand.
The thumbs
down on taxes echoes the publics distaste over the shakedown of the
tobacco industry and the persecution of smokers. Normal Americans,
in fact, are bored with the issue and wish the stridently anti-tobacco
puritans would just go away. Only the insecure and hateful endorse
the inordinate attention focused on an innocuous pleasure enjoyed by
adults.
The media
is strangely silent when the one special interest group that is most
despised by the American public donates astronomical amounts of cash to
politicians in the hope of increasing its obscenely bulging coffers.
The rapacious Trial Lawyers have wrought far more damage to this country
than any industry. They have perverted the rule of law into a
mechanism more conducive to massive shakedowns than pursuits of justice.
By their tactics, mimicking criminal organizations, they have effected the
most massive transfer of wealth and property from citizens to special
interests in this country's history. The American Tort Reform
Foundation has stepped into the void and has taken over the media's
function to inform. The group has taken upon itself the daunting
task of tracking the cash the lawyers pass out to their favorite
politicians. No segment of these overcompensated leaches has more
cash to spread around than the sharks that shook down the tobacco industry
and their consumers. With billions to play with, the tobacco lawyers
are primarily lavishing their ill-gotten gains upon Democrats and the
Democratic National Committee. They have looted smokers and now seek
to expand their political influence to loot us all.
From guns to global
warming, the press parrots the government as slavishly as did the Soviet
Union's Pravda. On tobacco, the press marches lockstep with
the government, printing its lies and ignoring any dissent. Never
has the mainstream media been held in such low esteem. That contempt
is reflected in the declining ratings of Network News and the plummeting
subscription rates of the major newspaper dailies. Now we find that the
federal government is butting into television entertainment, at the
invitation of the networks. From Salon,
not a member of the Government/Media Complex, comes the disturbing tale of
White House script approval for some of the networks most popular shows. As always during this era
of government merging with private institutions, the goal of the White
House network collaboration is a "worthy cause". The
networks are compelled to air free Public Service Announcements on the
behalf of the failed War On Drugs. If appropriate anti-drug messages
are inserted in television comedies and dramas, the networks can then
eliminate the PSA's and sell the time slot at commercial rates. The effect
of this deal is that flunkies at the White House are reviewing scripts and
offering suggestions. Although the focus of the Salon
piece is on the War On Drugs, it doesn't take a genius to
prognosticate that an arrangement between government censors and the
networks involving anti-tobacco messages is a very real possibility.
From Hillary Clinton down to the goons at the American Lung Association,
there is a constant harping from the totalitarians that Hollywood must hop
upon the anti-tobacco bandwagon. As Salon has uncovered, when
given the chance to exchange their independence for financial gain, the
media will always go for the gold.
Ned Roscoe is a California hero. The business man is a modern
day David fighting a Goliath created and financed by the blood of smokers.
The Rob Reiner Tobacco Tax has collected $700-million, bankrupting small
businesses and creating a black market in the process. Logically Ned
Roscoe shouldn't be fighting to overturn the tax since his business is
booming as Californians exercise their brain cells by figuring out how to
buy their smokes without going broke. Instead of counting his
profits, Roscoe spearheaded the effort to overturn the Reiner Tax.
The story from the Long Beach Press-Telegram is a classic
example of the Government/Media Complex at work. The reporter
speculates that massive amounts of tobacco company dollars may pour into
the effort to pass Proposition 28 at the last moment while ignoring the
millions that Rob Reiner is pouring into keeping his tax alive. Rob
Reiner is Chairman of the State Commission that spends the loot. No
one has more of a financial interest in keeping this regressive tax alive
than Rob Reiner.
The paper also implies that Californians are quitting smoking
because cigarette sales have dropped by 30 percent. No one has quit
smoking because of this tax. Smokers are, however, buying their
products outside of the state, a fact the state admits by announcing a
crackdown on internet and catalog sales. Those who can afford to pay
the tax can afford to buy elsewhere. Those with lower incomes are
forced to pay a tax that benefits the rich ideologues.
While Reiner's coffers are bulging, the general fund contributions
from tobacco taxes have decreased. All Californians must make up the
difference while Reiner and his politically favored cronies go hog wild
spending their ill-gotten gains on an orgy of untested theories and
blatant social engineering.
" Al Tolbert says the California law banning smoking
in bars is akin to the fascist laws imposed by Adolph Hitler's Nazi
regime. So he hung a sign outside his San Carlos tavern mimicking the
severe language of a Nazi posting: "Achtung! Achtung! Rauchen
Verboten. (Smoking Forbidden) By Order of the National Socialist
Republic of California." A swastika underscored the point.
" Some of the members of the Jewish community accuse him of
trivialization. What does it take to recognize the beast? Do we really
have to get to concentration camps and to smoking ghettoes to admit that
there is a persecution going on?
THE THIEVES' POLITICAL LOBBY
Added January 23 - Another
proof - as if one more were needed - that the media has devolved into a
government communications organ is the alacrity in which the anti-tobacco
press reports any political donation from the tobacco industry to
politicians. The shrieks and cries of outrage echo shrilly about the
land if that industry, fighting for its survival, exercises its
Constitutionally guaranteed right to make political donations to
candidates or campaigns that reflect its lawfully held views.

FOR
THE CHILDREN? Added January
9 - The anti-tobacco cartel is crying crocodile
tears as state after state enacts punitive legislation against underage
smoking. After decades of lies and hate mongering it's little wonder
that New Jersey becomes the latest to enact legislation that harshly
punishes minors for smoking tobacco. For quite some time the
evidence has mounted that the hatred of smokers promulgated by the
anti-smokers now targets under aged smokers. Although the
elimination of all smokers is the goal of the anti-tobacco
activists, the cartel should indeed be worried about the burgeoning
legislation attacking our kids. How long will parents remain
acquiescent while their children are expelled, fined, denied drivers
licenses and even goaded to suicide by
the climate of hate sponsored by the anti-tobacco organizations such as
the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids.
PROPOSITION
28 HERO Added January 24 - "Should
they build another prison system with your kid as the inmate?" he
demands. "Proposition 10 was financed by a bunch of Hollywood
hypocrites
who wouldn't dream of sending a child of theirs to one of these
programs."
BAR OWNER
LIKENS STATE'S BAN ON SMOKING TO LAWS OF NAZIS Added
January 13 - Here is a beautiful
example of resistance to the antismoking fascists from right here in
California, the land of anti-tobacco. Congratulations to this courageous
person. We certainly need more like him.
