If you were to ask me WHO is behind the global smoking bans? I would say, yes... you are correct.
The WHO (World Health Organization), an arm of the United Nations, which should be concentrating on more serious global health issues such as AIDS, malaria, hunger, etc. has gone into the "nanny" business instead to regulate our lifestyles, such as what we eat and drink, and seemingly spends most of its time on an anti-smoking crusade.
And coming soon to a theater near you is the WHO sponsored Framework Convention for Tobacco Control (FCTC), which is the world's first legally binding health treaty.
Yes, GLOBALISM is here and it snuck in through the back door while eyes were diverted elsewhere. And it reveals itself as global health fascism.
The FCTC is a global tobacco control treaty that will set international standards on tobacco and call for excessive taxation, pricing controls, advertising limits, smoking bans and more. (And for you drinkers, a similar treaty is being drawn up for alcohol).
More than 50 countries have ratified the FCTC which will take effect around February 28, 2005 and which will become part of international law.
Curiously, "the World Health Organization (WHO) has urged governments to include smoking cessation and treatment services as part of comprehensive tobacco control
programmes..." The WHO seems to be actively promoting smoking cessation products which directly benefits the pharmaceutical industry. Who needs to pay for advertising when you can have a corrupt "nanny" health
organization promote your products for you?
And now you get an idea of WHO the secret forces are behind the WHO's global smoking agenda. The pharmaceutical companies. And like all "globalist" activities, it involves money. BIG money on a global scale.
As Wanda Hamilton, a writer for pro-smoking group Forces.org accurately
states:
"Marketing interests of the drug companies are so intertwined with the public policy strategies of the anti-tobacco movement... the companies provide funding and commission studies to support anti-tobacco efforts, and the public health community lobbies for legislation that will increase sales of the companies' drugs and give them a competitive
advantage over the tobacco companies' products."
Yes, indeed.
And as further proof of collusion between the multi-national pharmaceutical industry and the WHO is the The Global Network of Pharmacists Against Tobacco which states on their website:
"The Global Network of Pharmacists Against Tobacco website, established by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) in collaboration with the WHO EuroPharm Forum, is a global forum for pharmacists, pharmaceutical students and their professional organisations as well as other individuals or organisations interested in smoking cessation and
tobacco control activities."
Hmmmm.... if you still think smoking bans are to protect public health, think again.
This is a war for control of the multi-billion dollar nicotine market (you may be aware that
pharmaceutical smoking cessation products contain nicotine). And the FCTC treaty, via the WHO, will become the ultimate global marketing weapon against smokers in forcing them to quit, which means BIG profits for the pharmaceutical multi-nationals and their smoking cessation devices.
Globalism.... don't you just love it?
