In the United States and its satellites, data falsification and financial raping of corporations though lawsuits under the coat of "health," "environment," and "social compensation" are now established and politically correct practices. It is even sanctioned by the Clinton Administration and the US political Left, as well as some of the Right, fearful to "fall behind the political times." The sinister novels of social fiction written in the past about a future based on social control by organised crime are now pretty much a reality. Given that this criminal (for us "flat-earthers," at least) mentality is now the new norm of these "advanced" countries, Libertarian Tom Oyler writes to media and other parties, and claims his "piece of the action," that is, a share of the loot for himself as a citizen.
I WANT MY MONEY!The evil tobacco companies have a record of 1500 wins and one loss in the legal arena. Think about that, they have lost only one jury trial. Yet, in the past several months they have decided to settle with individual States for billions of dollars in spite of the fact that no reasonable juror would have awarded the States a dime based on the trial information disclosed in the Minnesota trial. The citizens of this country and of the individual states pay the taxes that support Medicaid. Any monies appropriated from the tobacco companies should belong to the citizens not the State. The Attorneys Generals are our representatives in legal matters and have secured us a great deal of money. The proceeds, even if you believe that they were obtained using blackmail and extortion, belong to the taxpayers. We should not allow the states or the federal government to fritter away this gold mine. Example: The states that have received monies have spent them on things like awarding former Surgeon General Koop and former FDA head David Kessler over 200 million dollars, given millions to the advertising industry, and so on. Imagine what the politicians will dream up next. I want my money! Any lawyer wants to take the states on? And if the lawsuits against the gun mfg.'s, the distributors of fatty foods like McDonalds, the beer and wine industry, the car companies, et al. are settled I want that money too.
