"Cheap beer is a leading contributor to the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, according to a government report that says raising the tax on a six-pack by 20 cents could reduce gonorrhea by up to 9 percent."

"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study, released Thursday, compared changes in gonorrhea rates to changes in alcohol policy in all states from 1981 to 1995. This piece is not about tobacco, or America. It is about AIDS in Russia. The words "tobacco" or "smoking" are not mentioned once in the whole piece. But - look at the picture. What do you see? Smokers!

Why? What does smoking have to do with AIDS? Nothing, of course, except that smoking is associated with another epidemic. What better example of subliminal conditioning? Subliminal promotion is certainly not new, but up to sometimes ago it was related to commercial product promotion. Now the same technique is used to promote social hatred and scientific frauds -- in the name of health and safety, of course.

FRANCE CRACKS DOWN ON CIGARETTES, ALCOHOL

Based on the usual junk science and speculative statistics invented in the US and pushed throughout the world by the WHO, France is now starting the persecution of smokers and drinkers -- two distinctive traits of the French joy the vivre.

The French leftist government is -- like most governments of that political credo -- more vulnerable to the scientific frauds of the health cartel, and to the temptation of uprooting deep cultural traits in the name of "progress." The French government even claims that the cost of the joy of living exceeds the cost for national defence!

Why not? Nowadays all it tales, is to program some computer with the "right" data and software and -- voila!" we have expensive crisis and epidemics galore. Aren't computers great?
