Re: Follow-up to my complaint as filed October 27, 1997
Gentlemen,
Last Monday I appeared in person at your offices and presented a complaint against
a prominent anti-tobacco activist in Washington D.C. (John Banzhaf) and his related tax
exempt organization, ASH. This letter is written in follow-up to that complaint.
In my complaint I specifically mentioned Mr. Banzhaf and ASH's promotion on the
Internet of a book that describes a tested and proven methodology to successfully tamper with
cigarette packages in order to insert cyanide. The headline for that promotion, as shown on
Internet materials I had retrieved that day at the Redmond public library, was
"New Book Tells How Protagonist Kills
Smokers". In that complaint I also recommended that the FBI
immediately archive the entire web site of ASH, and I mentioned that there was a reasonable basis to
believe that the ASH web site could change in the event of inquiries by law enforcement authorities.
Attached please find two documents:
Enclosure 1. Press release dated October 31,
1997. This press release reports an order by a California Superior Court Judge that requires Stanton Glanz, a University of California
professor, to immediately stop destroying documents, and for Professor Glanz to appear before
that court to show cause why he should not be held in contempt. You should also note that the
court ordered Mr. Glantz' computer hardware to be sealed pending a court hearing. You may
confirm the authenticity of that press release by calling the law firm of Zumbrun & Findley at
(916)641-0015 and speaking with either Mr. Zumbrun or Mr. Speich.
Given Mr. Glantz' equal prominence with Mr. Banzhaf in the "war on tobacco,"
their common professional interests, and their economic interest in successfully promoting
anti-tobacco legislation and taxes, it should now be clear that there are compelling reasons to
believe that professional anti-tobacco activists will destroy relevant documents or other records
which may be adverse to their interests.
In view of this demonstrated pattern of conduct by professional anti-tobacco activists,
I again urge the FBI to immediately archive the entire web site, and any linked databases, of
ASH. I also respectfully recommend that this extend to all E-Mail left on the servers of ASH.
Enclosure 2. A document retrieved from
Electric Nevada. This research discloses that
the publisher of Mr. Freudberg's book about how to successfully product tamper to kill smokers
with cyanide (Gasp! A Novel of Revenge),
Barricade Books, is also the publisher of
The Anarchist's Cookbook. As you may be aware,
The Anarchist's Cookbook is a book of bomb recipes. I understand
that The Anarchist's Cookbook includes detailed instruction regarding how to manufacture a diesel
fuel and fertilizer bomb, such as that used in the horrible Oklahoma City bombing. You may
confirm the authenticity of this document by contacting Electric Nevada and speaking with Mr.
Miller, who's byline appears with the article.

Personally, I find it to be frightening that "Gasp! A Novel of Revenge" and "The
Anarchist's Cookbook" are directly related to each other through the same publisher,
Barricade. It is of extreme concern to me that persons who destroy documents and evidence, Stanton Glanz
at University of California, and an organization that promotes lethal violence against persons
who smoke (ASH), are directly related to each other through their joint professional
anti-tobacco activities. And it is cause for personal alarm to me that there now appears to be a direct
evidentiary link (through Barricade, Mr. Banzhaf and a public ceremony at the White House)
between promotion of lethal mass violence as occurred in Oklahoma City and the office of the
President of the United States.
By what stretch of the imagination, by what rational criteria, does President Clinton
publicly honor at the White House a person who promotes on their Internet web site books
that instruct activists in lethal violence available from the publisher of "The Anarchist's Cookbook"???
This evidentiary link between the White House and organized lethal violence is not
a matter of my conjecture or speculation, given that a known promoter of Barricade books,
Mr. Banzhaf, has been publicly honored by the president. That link is also confirmed by Mr.
Clinton's personal and aggressive support of the professional and economic anti-tobacco agenda
promoted by Mr. Glantz and Mr. Banzhaf. The importance of that link to Mr. Clinton is established by
the public information concerning $2.2 million in campaign donations from members of the
American Trial Lawyers Association, many of whom will profit handsomely from the tobacco
settlements so actively supported by President Clinton.
How can elected public officials possibly even listen to, let alone place any credibility
on, what such professional anti-tobacco activists have to say??? How is it that the congress, and
executive branch officials, place great credibility on what those who destroy evidence and
promote lethal violence have to say, yet they ignore information provided by those who bear the brunt
of this orchestrated intolerance??? How is it possible in the United States of America that those
with, literally, hundreds of billions of dollars in prospective revenue at stake are perceived to be
more "credible" than self-supported citizens who's only incentive is to end this frenzy of
orchestrated intolerance directed against persons who choose to lawfully consume a product that is
legally manufactured and sold in the USA???
The fact that the current frenzy of intolerance and violence against those who smoke
is intentionally orchestrated is also a documented matter of record. This dates back to the
original requests for proposals to states by National Cancer Institute (NCI) in 1989 and 1990 wherein
NCI states, in its standards dated December 12, 1989, that state of the science research has shown
that use of professional activists to diminish public acceptance for, and to reduce public tolerance
of, tobacco use is the most effective way to achieve their objectives. The NCI standards
specifically refer to persons who smoke as a "target group". In short, promote intolerance of US
citizen "target groups" to achieve government policy objectives. These objectives were confirmed
and restated in "Planning for a Tobacco Free Washington" as published by the State of Washington
in April of 1993 under a federal contract using federal funds.
We cannot intentionally promote orchestrated intolerance of a US Citizen "target
group" and not ultimately experience violence directed against that "target
group". That is, after all, the purpose of promoting intolerance: to "justify" hurting those who are the subjects of it. The
unlawful and violent nature of such activities is now before us with the luminaries of
anti-tobacco destroying evidence and advocating the availability of an anti-tobacco "cookbook" of their
own special brand of lethal violence directed against another group of US citizens. One of
those luminaries, Mr. Banzhaf, is honored at the White House, and honoring him is part and parcel
of a PR campaign to legitimize financially rewarding anti-tobacco activist lawyers who donated
money to the president's reelection campaign. Enough already???

1. President Clinton holds Public ceremonies at the White House honoring Mr. Banzhaf.
2. Mr. Banzhaf is Executive Director of Action On Smoking And Health (ASH).
3. ASH promotes a Barricade book titled "Gasp! A Novel of Revenge" on its web site.
4. ASH's promotion says "Gasp!" provides detailed instructions for mass lethal violence
through product tampering with cyanide (enough cyanide to poison 2,500 people).
5. Barricade also publishes "The Anarchist's Cookbook."
6. "The Anarchist's Cookbook" provides detailed instructions for mass lethal violence
through the use of chemical bombs (hundreds dead or injured in Oklahoma City.)
7. From NCI standards December 12, 1989, through to Mr. Clinton honoring Mr. Banzhaf
at the White House, the common element that ties this cesspool together is planned
intolerance of persons who smoke as promoted by professional anti-tobacco activists
and lawyers who are funded by the US Government, or lawyers who stand to benefit
handsomely from the tobacco settlements endorsed and promoted by the president.
These are hate crimes for bucks and power. It is that
simple. There is no justification of,
and there is no legitimate excuse for, promoting intolerance, and therefore violence, against
any "target group" of US citizens at any time, for any reason, or under any circumstances.
I have an eleven year old son who attends events at the Kingdome with me. We have,
here in Seattle on KIRO AM 710, a wingnut talk show host named Dori Monson who
rhetorically wonders on FCC regulated air waves why nonsmokers shouldn't throw water on persons
who smoke outside sports arenas. When confronted about this on the air, and in writing via fax,
by myself and others, he caustically and sarcastically dismissed our objections. Mr. Monson
apparently doesn't believe that the crimes of assault and battery exist when it comes to anti-tobacco.
As amply illustrated by the President of the United States, when it comes to bucks
and power through anti-tobacco, it is perfectly OK to hold up for public honor those who
promote the availability of tested methods for lethal violence against persons who smoke. With such
a leadership example from the president himself, what are simple minded bigots like Dori
Monson supposed to do? Well, about the same thing that other simple minded idiots did with the
other Barricade book in Oklahoma City, I suppose. This time it's not just a few hundred citizens
who will bear the brunt of orchestrated intolerance and its related violence, however, the author
of the book apparently supported by President Clinton brags that it can be
thousands.
How, as a father, am I to know what liquid is to be thrown at me, as advocated by
Mr. Monson on the air? How am I to know whether that cup contains water, beer, acid, or gasoline?
In view of public knowledge that others have been assaulted and battered, and that
anti-tobacco activists write books about using cyanide against persons who smoke, for God's sake, how can
I honestly be expected to not react instantly to prevent a very realistic threat to myself and my
son from that unknown liquid? And, am I supposed to spend my time at public sports events
worrying about whether or not I will be arrested for assault by protecting my son and myself? Do I spend
my time at that event "watching our backs," rather than enjoying the show?
Gentlemen, there is more than sufficient evidence to date to clearly establish the fact
that there is a concerted, organized, and intentional pattern of hate crimes directed against a
specific target group of persons who smoke. There is sufficient evidence to indicate that this pattern
of conduct is engaged in from the depths of those who publish books about lethal violence,
through the dank caves of professional activist anti-tobacco, and all the way on up in a direct
evidentiary link to the White House. And, with the announcement of the tobacco settlements for
$368 billion, there is a reasonable basis to believe that this pattern of conduct is engaged in to
garner the benefits of taxpayer bucks and political power.

Personally, I don't care what sick rationale is used to "justify" this pattern of conduct.
There is no justification for any reason, at any time, for intentional violence against other
persons who are our fellow citizens. Because of this pattern of conduct by anti-tobacco activists, I
am terrified for the safety of myself and my eleven year old son on a daily
basis. This is an ongoing and continuous assault upon the persons of myself and my son. I want that assault stopped, and
I want it stopped now. I look to the FBI to do its duty and get that job done.
The fact that Mr. Banzhaf might get another coffee in the Oval Office, or, my gosh,
even get to sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom, because of his public spirited promotion of cyanide
product tampering, is of no consequence to me if my son is harmed in any way by these
anti-tobacco zealots. And the fact that Mr. Clinton's activist lawyer donors may receive a $9 billion plus
return on their $2.2 million investment in his campaign is meaningless to me if my ability to care for
my son as a single dad is diminished in any way at the hands of these lunatics. The civil rights
of 62,000,000 US Citizens who smoke to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, are not
subordinate to Mr. Glantz' compulsion for junk science, Mr. Banzhaf's need to promote lethal
violence, or the president's financial requirements to cover campaign costs. We look to the FBI, as the
law enforcement authorities that we, as a civilized people, rely upon, to clean the anti-tobacco
violence promotion mess up through due process of law.
Finally, I mention that no tobacco interest was aware of the fact or content of my
complaint prior to its filing on October 27, 1997, nor are, or were, any tobacco interests aware of
the fact or content of this letter prior to its transmission to you. My sources of information as to
the complaint and this follow-up are research that I am presently conducting for my book
"Let's Really Stop The Violence."
I am a writer who also has a professional background in expert witness litigation
support in stock and bond fraud complaints. My current novel, "Tree: One Life That Made a
Difference," will be released this month by my publisher. "Tree" is a spiritual adventure-quest about we as
a people learning, once again, how to get along with each other in order to build a better world
for all of us to live in.
Thank you for your attention to these matters.
Sincerely,
Norman E. Kjono
