GIVE US YOUR BEST TAKE ON SMOKINGAfter that, commercials in which the winners appear will be produced and televised repeatedly. We do not know how many different commercials will be broadcasted, and how many times, but considering that the cost of a commercial is several thousand dollars a minute, one can imagine the amount of this "proud initiative." Excellent business for the producers of the commercials and Much Music, though. Obviously, the persecution of tobacco and smokers pays of in hard cash. Now, we get all excited when the tobacco industry allegedly addresses advertisement of its legal product out of its own private money to kids, but it is perfectly OK when the government brainwashes kids into a predetermined behaviour with public money. But of course, this is for health reasons...such a compassionate government! When can we expect Health Canada to waste public money on the best take on car pollution? Here is the "take on smoking" you are going to get, Health Canada -- and they'll vote with their actions:
