Here is the
collection so many have asked us for!
PORNO HEALTH CANADA
"This ain't no way to be
Canadian"
January 2001 - Once upon a time,
when we were "behind", we used to smoke, drink, have fun - and take offence if
somebody dared to mind our business. Now, however, we are "advanced", and we
seem to love being told what, when and how to do things. And - even better - we really
seem to appreciate when we are insulted, lied to, and sanctioned "for our own
good".
This is the case in Canada, where the nanny state does not hesitate to impose (of
course) pornographic imagery on cigarette packages. Pornography does not only mean
sexually explicit materials; it commonly refers to anything that is obscene. So
the pornography in this case involves pictures of cancers, tumours of the lips, rotten
lungs, and a complete array of disease portrayed for the enjoyment of smokers. What is
really pornographic, however, is not the imagery itself, as much as the fact that NONE
of the diseases and "dangers" depicted in the pictures can be proven to
be caused by smoking. But who cares? Obtuse parents in the past used to scare
their children with threats of "calling the boogie man" to control their
behaviour. But - should we say fortunately? - today's kids laugh at the new pictures while
they light up, and that is the real effect of antismoking propaganda.
Short of total incompetence, Health Canada is perfectly aware it is divulging false and
distorted information. That makes it a con, but what can one do when cons have
made it to government chairs? Certainly, writing petitions is useless! And that
question, responsible Canadians should really take seriously.
Just like members of criminal organisations taking pride in their criminal records,
antismoking organisations and ministries of health compete to become more and more
revolting and false, so that they can be more proud of themselves. Health Canada may not
be the only medical pornographer for long, either. Europe is considering following the
squalid example of such an "advanced" country, and to make its own porno labels
mandatory (of course!) on tobacco packaging in a couple of years or so. Hell, how can
Europe fall behind North America in the race for falsehood and bad taste?
Well, for our European friends (and for the rest of the world) here is the complete "porno"
collection for a preview of things to come - unless it is stopped with whatever it takes.

We are preparing the evidence for the lung
cancer and stroke graphics, so come back soon! Due to popular demand, we did not want to
wait any longer to show you the rest of these.
