STUCK
IN A WELL-WORN GROOVE - As the EPA struggled over cleanup methods, CDC epidemiologists hunted for
patterns among the anthrax victims. To date, 17 cases of anthrax have been
confirmed, including 10 of the dangerous inhalation form of the disease.
Four people have died. Researchers are gathering data to see if they
can determine whether advanced age or a history of smoking might
make people more vulnerable to inhalation anthrax, said Dr. Bradley
Perkins of the CDC.
Nice
try, Doctor, but again you fail. Only one of the 10 people diagnosed
with anthrax inhalation smoked.
Caught
with its pants down, the Centers for Disease Control is reacting the only
way that it can; blaming everything on smoking. The inanity of Dr.
Perkins is only a symptom of a wider disorder suffered by the CDC.
For the past decade the agency has been stacked with pharmaceutical louts,
apologists and shills. With the primary mission of enriching Big
Drugs as their only priority, the stooges there are incapable of
responding effectively to the real crisis of biologic terrorism.
Dr. Perkins and his cronies must be shuffled immediately to federal
agencies where their blind foolishness will not put the country at risk
and be replaced by people whose primary goal is to protect the public
health.
Anti-tobacco has
behaved very badly since September 11 with a New York Times writer
blaming the attack on smoking sections, a junk-science junkie blaming the
destruction of the Twin Towers on the tobacco industry and now, a screw-up
by the CDC, so consumed with hate towards smokers that it writes off the
anthrax deaths as just another smoking-related disease. It's time
for the federal government to get serious. The country doesn't have
the luxury of indulging in anti-tobacco distractions any more.

SMOKING
DURING PREGNANCY LINKED TO MENTAL ILLNESS - The smoking and pregnancy scam is no longer matter for the
Theatre of the Absurd, as it is no longer funny. Read this:
"ATLANTA (Reuters Health) - Women who continue to smoke after they know they are pregnant may be more likely to be mentally ill than non-smoking women, according to new preliminary findings. … Of the women, 38% had a history of a psychiatric disorder, 31% had a current disorder, 30% smoked during pregnancy and 15% were dependent on tobacco. … About 61% of the women were black, and about one in five were younger than 19." This goes beyond the already shrill and false message that "a woman smoking during pregnancy
'must be crazy'."
Real science has abundantly shown the weak or non existing relationship between smoking during pregnancy and disease to the foetus -- or the
woman. Propaganda garbage like this is laying the foundations for legal action against pregnant smoking women who refuse to quit,
to force pharmacological cessation "therapy" on them, with the complicity of already corrupt or disinformed ministries of health. Let us not forget that the multinational giants act on decade-long marketing plans.
Consider this scenario: there is an official 1.2 billion smokers in the
world and, in average, half of them are women. Out of 600 millions, say that 5% (30 million) are pregnant. Now, say that 1/3 of those women does not buy the false information about the "dangers" of smoking during pregnancy, and refuses to quit. With the junk science linking mental illness to smoking, it would be possible to
bypass the already weakened civil rights, and the will of the
mother, and IMPOSE something like 10 million
dangerous "therapies" produced by Big
Pharma, with a predictable value of well over 2 billion dollars sales per year. The corruption and prostitution of the medical profession in this issue is more than absurd: it is truly
stomach turning - and a serious danger to liberty and choice. More and more, we are approaching the model of the Nazi state. Of course, a sleazy way out
is laid by Dr. Louise H. Flick and her crew, authors of this last piece of scientific garbage:
``It is not a perfect indicator of problems, as nearly half of smokers will not have a disorder, but it can be a clue to look further.''
And "look further" means, of course, more money to
produce false or distorted information.

here) - " We studied DSM-III-R nicotine dependence in the United States, trends across cohorts, and the role of nicotine dependence in smoking persistence." ... "METHODS: The Tobacco Supplement to the National Comorbidity Survey was administered to a representative subset of 4414 persons aged 15 to 54 years. The World Health Organization's Composite International Diagnostic Interview was used to assess nicotine dependence. " All said
right there. The "interview" model of the WHO, moppet of Big Pharma, is a very questionable methodology designed to produce politically exploitable results to be then used by the WHOs
pharma "partners". As we have said above, the psychiatric angle is the approach used
to lay the foundations for totally removing the smoking subject from any form of involvement in the
issue, other than to impose on smokers cessation drugs (mostly based on the
same nicotine that is claimed to create dependence) on them - even if they don't want to. In fact, people with psychiatric problems are

A BACKHANDED BLOW AGAINST SMOKERS - September 14 - "Americans were really only able to defeat Big Tobacco when whistleblowers within the tobacco industry went public and took on their own industry, and their own bosses, as peddlers of cancer. Similarly, the only chance to really defeat these nihilistic terrorists is not just by bombing them…."
New York Times columnist Thomas L. Friedman has insulted smokers at one of the worst times possible in his September 14 column
("Smoking or Non-Smoking")
by picking up and embroidering Israeli foreign minister Shimon Peres' weakly conceived and inappropriate analogy between terrorist sanctuaries and smoking sections. Mr. Peres' linguistic faux pas might be attributable to the stress of having to make
an on-the-spot response to journalists at a very difficult moment. We hope so. Otherwise, he is forgetting that many of the decent people who do not support terrorism in his country and around the world are smokers. Mr. Friedman's embracing of the analogy for his column, as he presumably had a bit more time to reflect on the matter, is even less excusable. Many of the victims of the recent attacks and the unbelievably heroic people who are now trying to find survivors were and are smokers. It is true that Mr. Peres' remarks linked terrorism not with smoking explicitly but with cancer. His conclusion, however, created a different and simplistic sort of equation:
".. every country must now decide whether it wants to be a smoking or non-smoking country, a country that supports terrorism or one that doesn't." Mr. Friedman equated Big Tobacco with the terrorists - surely the worst instance of demonizing this
legal and taxpaying industry that we have yet seen. But the basic metaphor is more suggestive yet. What have we --
smoking section = terrorist haven and vice versa? Those who hang out in smoking sections =
terrorists, more or less? That's the power of metaphorical language. It creates vivid and simple parallels in the imagination - bypassing thought or analysis. It was thoughtless at best, mean-spirited at worst - for Friedman to seize upon and offer these images to New Yorkers and everyone else this week.
ANTI-TOBACCO
IS ANTI LABOR - May 1,
2001 - Working men and women in North Carolina, Kentucky,
Virginia and New York received quite a jolt while perusing the morning
paper. In a full-page ad, the state of Florida urges those who work
in the tobacco industry to quit their jobs for the sake of the
children.
"Today 3,000 young people will start smoking. 1,200 people will die from tobacco. And someone, somewhere will
decide they've had enough of working for the tobacco industry. We'd like to make sure it's a decision that doesn't go unnoticed."
The ads, costing $129,617,
coincided with the "take your daughter to work" day and provide
a number for the harangued workers to call the Florida Health Department,
presumably with a message that they are so ashamed that they will quit
their jobs with the tobacco industry and, in the words of the health
department, be a hero.
A new level of indecency has
been reached. The attacks on the tobacco industry are bad enough and
violate the tobacco settlements but to harass the workers is so disgusting
that it appears that the anti-tobacco ideologues have lost their minds.
The limp response from Philip
Morris, a company that could take legal action against the Florida health
department, is disgusting on its own level. The cigarette companies
have a well-deserved reputation for being excellent employees but PM's
acquiescence with Florida's anti-worker message is despicable.
PSYCHOLOGICAL
ABUSE IN THE CLASSROOM - April 5,
2001 - Parents should be able to expect that their children attend
school to learn the basics, how to reason and how to acquire the skills needed to be
productive members of society. They don't expect their children to have
their heads stuffed with lies nor do they expect the teachers to teach hatred.
Corrupting every thing it touches, anti-tobacco for years
has infiltrated the nation's elementary and high schools. At first the
indoctrination focused on the alleged health hazards of smoking tobacco but as smoking
rates among the young continued to skyrocket, the thrust now is to foment
hatred. Starting with hatred for the tobacco industry the hatred now is
directed against smokers.
Just as it seems that hatred towards smokers can't get any
worse, anti-tobacco pushes the envelope even further. In New Hampshire an English
teacher is encouraging and orchestrating his students to portray smokers as murderers.
Jonathan Kelly, whose ambitions far surpass the academic
backwater of the Concord High School English Department, has gathered together the most
docile and unimaginative of his students to produce a radio murder mystery. It won't
be giving the ending away to reveal who done it since a mediocre effort such as this can
have only one conclusion.
The wife did it. Her secondhand smoke killed her
husband She's busted, led away in handcuffs. The story doesn't say whether she will
be executed but with haters like Kelly supervising the script undoubtedly death is too
good for the poor woman.
Kelly hopes to raise enough money to have his opus
translated to television. He needs $160,000 and is only $5,800 short.
Such a perversion in the classroom is disgusting but what
really rates this despicable episode as truly revolting is that Brown and Williamson, the
cigarette maker, was willing to contribute to Kelly's slanderous play. Brown and
Williamson is willing to suck up to a second-rate pedagogue who is stuffing his charges
with absolute falsehoods at the expense of its customers who make the company
profitable. Maybe hatred for the tobacco industry isn't such a bad idea after all.
"I AM YOUR DOCTOR, AND I AM HERE TO KILL YOU" - February 21,
2001 - Nothing to do with smoking, everything to do with the "new" ethics
of the medical profession. To those who have followed the story of the Australian doctors
(scroll down), this chilling story may appear as a natural, sinister appendix. The
enormous political and financial power conquered by the medical profession has
turned many doctors into gods in their own minds, claiming the right to decide who lives -
and who dies. We would not take lectures and punishment from our mechanic because we have
kept our car in less than ideal conditions; we would expect the man to take his money,
shut up, and fix the car. Yet, when it comes to the mechanics of the body, many of us seem
to be willing to take all sorts of lectures if we do not keep our machine in bristol
shape. And we are willing to pay, obey, feel guilty, and take all the punishment the
mechanic sees fit to bestow on us.

AUSTRALIANS USED AS GUINEA PIGS
- February 14, 2001 - By whom? The "unethical" tobacco
industry? Not at all, by the "ethical" pharmaceutical industry, which sponsors
antitobacco world-wide, while pulling the strings of marionettes at the WHO, and at the
ministries and departments of "health" of various countries. As tobacco smoke is
a good marker for bad air circulation, antismoking is good marker for corruption and bad
ethics. These are the same people who lie to us about smoking.
"Thousands of Australians have been unwittingly used
as human guinea pigs in drug trials for international pharmaceutical companies […]
children and intellectually disabled men and women are among those included in the trials
[…] the tests are aimed at having new drugs approved for the United States and
European markets [...] pharmaceutical companies are paying doctors the equivalent of about
$5,000 for every patient they provide for tests but the patients do not have to be told
about the deal [...] some tests being abandoned after reports of side-effects or
deaths..." ...Still think that the tobacco industry is the bad guy in town?
Years of twisted

AUSTRALIA:
SURGERY BAN ON SMOKERS - February 11, 2001 - Doctors are refusing smokers potentially
life-saving surgery until they quit their habit. Physicians and surgeons at Melbourne's
top hospitals told the Herald Sun they are denying smokers elective treatment such as lung
and heart transplants, lung reduction surgery, artery by-passes and coronary artery
grafts. Alfred Hospital respiratory physician Associate Professor Greg Snell said reasons
for the ban were medical and moral… "It is within our mandate to ration services
and smoking is one way to define the patient population. "It is common practice to
not do elective surgery, and certainly some lung operations, on people who smoke."
SMOKER
DIES AFTER DOCTORS REFUSE TO TREAT HIM - February 11, 2001 - ' The man,
56, is thought to be the first person to die since Australian doctors decided to take a
stand on smokers and their treatment which, critics say, borders on “moral
fascism”. Some doctors have refused to perform transplants and other life-saving
operations on smokers on "medical and moral" grounds.'

THE BETRAYAL OF
HIPPOCRATES - "In his book, Smith argues that, at the urging of an elite
group of bioethicists, the health care industry is moving away from the "do no
harm" model established by Hippocrates and toward a stark utilitarian system
that would legitimize medical discrimination against -- and even in some cases, the
killing of -- the weakest and most defenseless of society." While there is no
direct mention of smokers in this article, it is quite a coincidence that a proponent of
the 'new medical order' is Peter Singer, an Australian, now teaching bioethics at
Princeton University.
CIGARETTE SMOKING IN RENAL TRANSPLANT
RECIPIENTS -
"In
examining the additive effects of covariates, patients who smoked but quit more than 5 yr
before transplantation appeared to have better outcomes than
patients who had never smoked. The reason for this is unclear.
This effect was independent of other, major determinants of graft survival
post transplant.
We might speculate that patients who were able to quit
smoking were also patients who had other attributes that led to improved survival
(!), attributes that were not taken into account in the multivariate analysis. For
example, patients who were able to quit smoking may have been
more adherent to medications (on what grounds are these cons speculating?). It is
also possible that patients who were able to quit smoking
adopted other lifestyles and habits that improved their survival after
transplantation. In any case, this result should be
interpreted with caution…" Actually, the cons
have said that they have no clue, but look at how neatly the antismoking
seed is implanted - and so is the justification to deny transplant, and
let the smoker die. |
SADOMASOCHISM
ON THE HIGH SEAS - Added
December 13, 2000 We were undecided whether this bizarre tale should be placed
in the Theater of the Absurd but based on our initial reaction decided that Disgust is the
appropriate spot.
What can one say about a group of people who book a
cruise on an ocean liner that forbids smoking even though several of those paying money
for the luxury cruise smoke? What can one say about a cruise ship that x-rays
baggage to ensure that not only is there no smoking but that there are no tobacco products
on board?
This story documents the masochism of today's American
and the companies that dish it up.
The event was a family reunion aboard the Paradise, the
smoke-free ship of the Carnival Cruise Lines. Of the 30 people, several were cigar
smokers who were quite happy to forego their pleasures for the sake of family unity.
The party knew of Carnival's draconian policy of throwing people off the cruise and fining
them $250 if caught smoking or possessing tobacco products. These people willingly
embarked on this preposterous cruise willing participants in smoke Nazi hell.
Their happiness changed to dismay after a steward
confronted the party several days into the cruise with terrible evidence of
malfeasance. The steward had found unused matches in one the cabins and now there
was hell to pay. The suspects, one 16-year-old boy and his older cousin, were
detained while the cabin was searched. To the horror of all, an unopened pack of
cigarettes was found. The older cousin, from California, no less, had brought a pack
of cigarettes onto the sacred ship before he knew the severity of the consequences.
The consequences in this case were the $250 fine and
exile from the ship for the two cousins and both of their fathers. The dramatic
change in their plans cost the family several thousands of dollars for the four castaways
to fly to Miami.
Since Carnival enacted its smoke-free policy on the
Paradise stories such have this have become common. What qualifies this story for
Disgust is that the author, aunt to the smoking Californian and mother to the 16-year-old,
heartily endorsed Carnival's anti-smoker policy until it hit home. She is angry that
she and her family were affected by it and the family reunion ruined. She is
oblivious to the hard truth that when one voluntarily turns oneself over to sadistic
Nazis, pain and humiliation are the inevitable result.
She and her family got exactly what they
deserved. The horror of her story is not the punishment that these fare-paying
voyagers suffered but their empty-headed acquiescence that makes Carnival Cruises possible
in a so-called civilized society.
"HEALTH": MORE
ABORTIONS 'MEAN LESS CRIME - "An increase in the abortion
rate among the young and disadvantaged has been linked to a fall in the crime rate in the
USA.
Two leading academics argue that the increase in abortions among the poor and women
from minority communities could explain up to half the fall in the crime rate in the
country."
Junk science, the fuel of anti-tobacco, is the most socially dangerous expression of
corruption. So, here we have it: a "study" wants to "demonstrate" that
if we induce poor and disadvantaged mothers to abort, we will have a much safer society --
right? This is the social implication of this garbage, and its not -so-hidden
suggestion is clear: poor mothers should ABORT TO IMPROVE SOCIETY. What about eugenics?!
How long before "leading academics" propose the sterilization of the lower
classes? They are called "Health Nazis" for a reason -- and Nazi Germany
was loaded with those "leading academics."
We can hardly refrain from vomiting.
And this is the problem of "progressive," nazionalsocialist "health
revolution": mechanistic solutions to human and social problems. The only eugenics to
be performed here is brain sterilization of health zealots while flushing their
"studies" directly down the toilet where they belong, for they aren't even good
as toilet paper.
One more important observation about this BBC article -- since BBC seems to have
embraced the worst kind of American-style Health Nazi information spinning. BBC used to be
a reputable entity; too bad that all good things must come to an end.
The caption of the picture says: "The LA riots bucked the trend of falling
youth crime". The LA riots had deep political and social
causes. How nice and simple must be to dismiss the desperation, the hopes, and the
frustrations of poor people simply as "crime."
Now the vomit bucket is truly filled.

its kind to pit smokers and nonsmokers against each other regarding the right of people to
smoke in the privacy of their own home.

does present some fine candidates for consignment to the zoo -- but they're not Howard
County's smoking employees.

firms that have extorted the enormous Florida settlement from the tobacco industry and its

payment for 9 million dollars each. The gangsters who have perpetrated this
extortion and the criminal government that supports them sing the children song while
living in inconceivable luxury with the money of the public. But this is anti-tobacco,
after all. What do you expect?.
SMOKER SACKED FOR EXERCISING HIS CIVIL RIGHT
- Added September 1, 1998 - "A
supervisor at a firm with a strict no-smoking policy has been sacked for allegedly
lighting a cigarette in his car as he left at the end of a night shift. A video camera at
the factory - which supplies printed wrapping materials to the tobacco industry - recorded
a flash of light in the car."
No, this does not belong to the "Theatre of the Absurd", but rightfully to
"The Disgusting". This is another example of the level of hatred reached against
smokers thanks to the anti-smoking campaign. But here is the most disgusting thing of all:
"The dismissal for gross misconduct was criticised as 'overzealous' by the
anti-smoking campaign ASH."
First of all, who the hell is ASH to be interviewed every time there is something
related to smoking? What authority, what important opinion do they have to contribute? The
existence of their organization is based on a fraud: the "dangers" of tobacco.
And second, it is thanks to scumbags like ASH that this situation exist. And we can
speculate that the real reason for ASH to be concerned about this episode is that it truly
shows the level of intolerance that the anti-tobacco criminals have managed to evoke in
society. But with the continuously mounting evidence proving the frauds of anti-tobacco
the day when this scum will be judged by the courts is coming closer and closer. This is
why they try to secure prohibition before the year 2000; they know that if they fail, they

campaign in California has so far reduced the number of smokers. Philip Morris rubs its
hands: they never sold more cigarettes in California! Please note the suggestive
invocation of violence referred to in the last paragraph. Does that mean that smokers have
to prepare themselves to answer in kind?

THE (NEW) BALLGAME - After lighting a
cigarette (20 feet from the nearest spectator) at a Little League game, a Los Angeles
father learned the rules of the game had changed. While authorities detained him and
telephoned police (who refused to send a car) his son was beaten up by the rest of the
home team. After that, it got worse. His son was permanently kicked out of Little League.
Then it got worse. His son was regularly sent home from school in the middle of the
day on the grounds that he "smelled of secondhand smoke." After that, it got
WORSE. The school decided that his father's cigarettes were imperiling the boy's health
and sent a social worker to the house. It was only, the father claims, because he happened
to have a slick super-ventilator in his den, that they finally left him alone. He wonders
if otherwise, they might have (incredibly) taken his son away. (The father now plans to
sue.)

WE PUT YOU IN JAIL! - In lieu of a jail
sentence, a Charleston, SC judge ordered that a 15-year-old juvenile delinquent be
tethered to her mother for an indefinite period of time. This meant that the mother had to
give up her own life, kick her husband out of the bedroom, and go everywhere with the
girl, "except to the bathroom." The mother described the sentence as
"extremely stressful" and "about to drive her crazy," and if that
isn't bad enough, she now herself faces an incredible punishment of "up to a year in
jail" for the crime of having smoked in the presence of her (shoplifter, runaway)
