What Shall We Do About the Kids? A Selected Bibliography on Underage Tobacco Use - We open this new section with a bibliography by Wanda Hamilton on underage smoking. Much of the anti-tobacco fanfare of lies is made of myths: smoking among teen declined since 1981, tobacco promotion induces kids to smoke, and so on. But once again, when we look at the FACTS, this is simply not true. As always in mature markets, the promotion of a product brand does not increase the total size of the market, but it is intended to increase the market share of the advertiser.
