PREFACE

The title of this letter about the MONICA (MONItoring CArdiovascular disease) study set out by the World Health Organization  to "prove" that smoking causes heart disease ^{[1], [2],}) by Jeremy Laurance, Health editor of The Independent, London, and published by the BMJ, says it all:
 

MONICA did not deliver on task it set out to accomplish

The letter describes the politicization of science quite well and in a short form.

Read it, and ask yourself: 

???  "How is it possible that what is supposed to be a neutral scientific study by the WHO had the mandate from the beginning to prove a political point?"

???  How can the anti-tobacco movement get away with selling corrupted science as real science? 

???  How badly has the Holy Grail of science been contaminated? 

???  How can we trust studies the results of which are predetermined by a political agenda? 

???  How can people and the media be so naive to believe and repeat this ?

Remember, one does not need to approve of smoking in order to disapprove of corrupted science.
