ABOUT PROSTITUTION
(August 7,1998)

The desperation of the anti-tobacco cartel is particularly acute after the defeat of the EPA passive smoke study, which has debased smoking bans, shown the corrupted nature of anti-tobacco, as well as seeding a serious doubt about the honesty of institutions in the mind of once sympathetic parties.

Here is the latest low blow of the cartel:

SCIENTISTS WERE PAID TO WRITE LETTERS

In this article it is "revealed" that "13 scientists were paid more than $156,000 for their letters and some manuscripts to analyze and criticize the EPA report." Names and details are included. In other words, paying a scientist for an analysis is a sin when it comes to tobacco, and the conclusion of their work is corrupted, no doubt!

Who would dare go against the holy dogmas on secondhand smoke, if not the corrupted scientists PAID by the tobacco industry"

In reality, the fees paid to the scientists were quite small, next to the amount of work it takes to analyze the massive EPA study. And the criticism could not be there if there were no manipulations of established scientific procedures, no matter the amount of money paid. Some of the manipulations are so gross, they are detectible even by laypeople. And no scientist -- paid by tobacco or not -- would risk destroying his/her career for 20-30,000 dollars if the study was not in fact flawed!

And nobody works for free. The anti-tobacco cartel operatives know that very well.

``They're not scientists, they're prostitutes,'' says Julia Carol, co-director of Americans for Nonsmokers' Rights ``It's just simply not science, and they are therefore not scientists. They are guns for hire, masquerading as scientists. It's absolutely, completely, utterly appalling.'' Still, she said, ``it doesn't surprise me in the slightest.''

And she shouldn't be surprised. Julia Carol is no doubt an expert in prostitution (with the rest of the anti-tobacco cartel). We don't mean street prostitution, for we have no information one way or the other. But when it comes to professional prostitution, the anti-tobacco cartel shines as the Empire State Building of the whorehouses.

The operatives of the cartel (non-smokers rights associations, anti-smoking "scientists" like Stanton Glantz, mechanical engineer turned cardiologist, etc.) are paid immense amounts of money by government and pharmaceutical industry to spread proven false information, such as the EPA study, the California restaurant study with the "oops" of Glantz, the non-existing 400,000 yearly "victims" of tobacco, the 3,000 "children" who start smoking every day (turned out to be over 18), the smokers' cost to society proven wrong by the CRS report, and much, much more.

The strong rhetoric of Julia Carol indeed applies fully to the cartel.

This week's comment by junk science buster Steven Milloy on the letters "controversy" sums the situation up: "Keep in mind that anti-tobacco zealot Stan Glantz (quoted in the article) was paid $25,000 by the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration to testify in favor of OSHA's proposed smoking ban. Glantz also received a $600,000 'grant' from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for research on tobacco industry lobbying. I guess nobody works for free."

Let us have a look at just some of the other figures earned by the parasites of the anti-tobacco cartel.

NOT A GRASSROOTS CAMPAIGN:
FOUNDATIONS, GOVERNMENT BANKROLL ANTI-TOBACCO CRUSADE

AND:

BLOWING SMOKE: TOBACCO-FREE KIDS, ALLIES OVERSHOOT CAMPAIGN

"RWJF made 159 grants to anti-tobacco organizations and activities." ... "In 1993 RWJF authorized $10 million in initial funding for 11 states. In 1996 another 21 states and $20 million were added to the program." ... RWJF paid the Advocacy Institute $157,000 to provide "technicalassistance" to the Smokeless States program. This year it gave the Institute $460,000 to produce a series of policy papers on tobacco control policies targeted at youth. The National Education Association got $500,000 for a "teacher, youth and parent tobacco control advocacy program." ... RWJF committed $20 million over five years to establish the Center for Tobacco-Free Kids (TFK) in 1996. TFK has rounded up $32 million in initial funding commitments, including support fromthe American Cancer Society ($10 million), American Heart Association ($1 million), Annie E. Casey Foundation ($400,000) and smaller donors, including several foundations.

The article goes on and on. So, who are the prostitutes, and especially, who are the pimps" Pharmaceutical industries who want to replace the habit of tobacco with the addiction to powerful doses of nicotine from their smoking substitutes. Non-profit, tax-free organizations recycling money to their allies. Government grants feeding the hungry mouths of organizations designed to spread intolerance among the population. The disgusting orgy of falsehood, greed, and hatred can go on ad infinitum. We don't think we are exaggerating when we define anti-tobacco "a new form of organized crime." Indeed, "It's absolutely, completely, utterly appalling."

YOU HAVE SEEN IT ON FORCES FIRST

FORCES has published the finding on the anti-smoking grant frenzy in February, 1998. Thanks to the painstaking work of one of oursupporters, Norman Kjono, we were able to prove just PART of the river of money going to the anti-tobacco "grass root" organizations. We are re-publishing two articles form Norman, and the table of the RWJF grants just for 1996.
