SANCTIMONY SUITES THE ANTISMOKING SCUM

Answer to a reader who criticises us for a reply to a young man over two years ago! According to him, we did not do the “right thing” by pointing out the truth on smoking and tobacco and, even worse, we did not bestowed on him sanctimonious paternalism. Sorry, sir: antismoking is a social cancer and a fraud that is targeting especially the youth – and for that reason, we are making our best effort to make young people aware of how “public health” is conning them – to make them aware of a frightening upcoming reality that must be stopped: a word of pharmaceutical drugs and state surveillance where 100 years lived under the immoral control of the state are considered better than 70 lived as free people making their own decisions on lifestyle and values. And there is no junk science and sanctimony that is going to make us change our mind.

George,

Sorry for the big delay. Your message was lost under a pile of junk mail and, after reading it, I still think that it belongs there. Nevertheless, I have some time right now, thus I answer.

Dear mystery person,

I envision to be a young hot blooded kid, or a very immature old man who lived his life trying to be part of an under culture rather than to be a positive influence in our own society.

Under culture? Are you referring to smoking, again? If so, I believe that antismoking is an under culture gone amok because of pharmaceutical over-financing.

You can play around with words all you want but the fact is that cigarette smoking causes cancer.

No words required here but two: PROVE IT.

The fact that you refuse to believe it makes no difference, people still die from prolonged cigarette smoking and they get sick from second-hand smoking.

I believe what science demonstrates, not what suits my superstition. It is you who rely on belief, here. People who don't smoke die too (cancer included) - what do you think is responsible for it?... Concerning passive smoke, I get sick too at times - from the lies that are told about it.

I know because I knew a few.  Some which died of heart attacks, some developed cancer of the lungs, one that I've worked with had emphysema.  If you need proof, I have the perfect solution for you. If you haven't done it already, start smoking.  Then, as time goes by, increase to maybe two packs a day, and three.  To have the best effect for this test, you should be a chain smoker as soon as you can. If you choose to perform this test, we should exchange name, address, and telephone number. I will keep in contact with you for about ten or 15 years. I think it would be long enough to watch you die at the hospital of one of the things I mentioned above.

Deal! I have smoked over a pack a day for 35 years now, and sometime I peak at 30 cigs a day. Still do 8 flights of stairs without any heavy breath. I am 53; never been in better health: 100% OK medical check up. And you? I go for exchanging name, address and telephone number. Since you propose it, you go first, but I will start with my name: Gian Turci. Write to this address for the exchange gianturci@forces.org; I'll get it directly. Since we are on the subject, I make you a counter-proposal: you keep on not smoking, and just wait... you too are going to die, wanna bet?! And I know I'll win that one! :-)  And moreover, you are going to die of a disease (except, of course, if you get driven over by a truck). What are you going to blame?... So, I have no problem whatsoever with your bet.

By doing this, you will no longer need to ask "how do you know?" What do you say....put your money where your mouth is.

George

I did already, and I still do -- and I am not sorry about that.

PS. You're still ruining people's lives with your lousy advise. You should reconsider.

I think you are with the BS you are spreading around. You should reconsider as well, as lives without pleasure are not worth living. And you (like everybody else) are not in a position to lecture people on how to live their lives. Simply put, mind your own lousy business and be as miserable as you want - even delude yourself about happiness! Just don't ask anybody else to be like you, please! The kid asked for advice, and he got it; he got the truth and a balanced view that made him see the other side of the fraud, and HE will decide, then: he does not need to be told what to do. Given the same conditions, I would counsel anybody else the same way.

>I< did >not< ask you for any advice, however; so
just keep your sactimonious prose for yourself.

Thanks.

Gian Turci
