Resolution targets trans fats in Madison
– After New York, Madison, WI, looks like it is going to be the next one in line
to get into your dish.
“I have
just read your reporting on the transfat ‘epidemic’ (and for sure, this will
become one)”,
comments Capri Lione to the Wisconsin State Journal. “The Robert Wood
Johnson Foundation has already started the wheels with their $5 million
donation to the states to ‘fight’ the obesity ‘epidemic’. Their next
logical step will be to create the junk science needed to launch a new
lawsuit against the businesses that make these fats or use these fats, sell
these fats, consume these fats... so, there will be no "fattys" amongst us
on this ‘pristine clean’ planet. Just another one of those unintended
consequences, I would guess?... Public Healthscare has become quite the
behemoth. So much for ‘public health’ addressing its original purpose in
government, such as the water substructure of its cities and towns. “
And
that’s the problem. We have allowed “public health” not only to exceed
its mandate by leaps and bounds, but also and especially to become the
greatest executive political power in existence. And since “public
health’s” strings are pulled by the powerful pharmaceutical lobbies, then
Big Pharma has become the real, Grey Eminence behind that political power.
No surprise that soon it is not going to be “socially acceptable” to buy
food without a prescription.

Heroic Resistance to social engineers during Klein era
– As Alberta is building up a province-wide smoking ban in the road of
denormalization of smoking and normalization of pharmaceutical interests and
personal choice control, the pro-prohibition press drums along. Faithful to
the healthist doctrine dictating that only an addicted smoker (and not a liberty
supporter) can be against smoking bans, the press is going to great extents to
point out that former minister Ralph Klein, who always opposed the ban (to the
point of calling the tobacco control agenda “bullshit”), is a smoker.
Ergo: a non smoker who loves liberty would be in favour of a smoking ban,
because prohibition is synonym of freedom! We
connect with Surreality Times – currently, the most appropriate
publication name we have seen so far.

Rome,
red alert: cocaine, caffeine and nicotine in the air!
–
This is the latest "alarm" launched by the Italian media. We read: “In Rome’s atmosphere there is suspended
cocaine… this is a very serious study … to poison the air of the capital are not
just cars and industries, but drugs as well. … The data confirm what emerged in
other types of analyses in great western cities, analyses that show how rivers
or banknotes always contain traces of drugs”.
This is yet
another example of how hysteria can be built with the perverse
use of super-sophisticated measuring technology. The perception frauds on
passive smoking paved the way for a whole new industry of deception technically based on
truth but which becomes a truth based on deception. We are not playing with words:
we simply reflect on the reality of our times. It is true, for example, that
passive smoke contains some 4,000 chemicals – but, first of all “chemical” does
not mean poison, and
poison is so only when the dose is sufficient to cause harm,
otherwise nothing is a poison. The zero exposure/zero tolerance (zero mind)
“religion“ tells us that the only way to guarantee health is zero exposure, but
that is false regardless of the “authority” that says it. Moderate
exposures build resistance, thus health.
The same
applies to the
cocaine that “poisons” Rome’s atmosphere. The concentration of cocaine in the
air is 0.1 nanograms per cubic metre (1 cubic metre = about 35.31cubic
feet). To have an idea of how ridiculously small that measure is,
click here. Now forget cocaine and think passive smoking – nothing
will change much.

Scores of smoking ban opponents, supporters spar
- Hooray for the Libertarian of Wisconsin! Senator Risser, who is all about
banning smokers in Wisconsin, teams up with the Appleton representative to
“level the playing field”. Hmm, these are the only two cities in WI that
have a complete smoker ban at this time.. connect the dots Wisconsin and
America!
A bit of history here: Gov. Tommy Thompson was governor during the Master Settlement Agreement - our
Attorney General at that time was Diamond Jim Doyle - who is the current sitting
governor of WI. Former Governor Tommy Thompson is running on the Republican
ticket for 2008 Presidential elections. Ed Thompson ran on the Libertarian
ticket for Governor in the elections 4 years ago (and made a substantial
showing). Current Governor Doyle is very close to Dr. Fiore of the University
of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Fiore pulls the strings of the Tobacco Control dollars of
the WI Smoker Ban (and also sits on Pharmaceutical B.O.D. (or B.O.D.s?).
Ah, what a
tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.

Germs and the City
-
For anyone interested in the subject of public health in our culture, this
article is a must-read. Lots of thought-provoking stuff on the historical
importance of public health, the complacency of the post-antibiotic era,
lifestyle and morality issues, drug regulation, incentives and disincentives for
pharmaceutical companies, and more. This is the kind of article – honestly
laying out sometimes complex and difficult issues – that the voting public
needs to see more of.
At the end, we are
reminded that
“one way or
another, germs will contrive to horrify us again, in some very nasty way. A
society’s only real defense is to stay horrified, well ahead of the curve.”
The challenge
for lovers of liberty (the last one to leave please turn off the lights) is to
see how this can be done responsibly in a free society. If we can’t manage to do
it, we’ll eventually lose both the war against disease and any prospect for the
kind of world the last World War was fought to defend. Indeed, the two things
might possibly happen in one fell swoop.

Lesson
for crusaders
– From the pages of Freedom To Choose comes another Recommended
Reading. Short and powerful, no one should skip this one. It condenses
all there is to know about building a crusade based on fraud: get the
government on your side while getting rich on the backs of your
victims; get ignorant politicians to repeat your lies and even
turn them into laws, and then get them to defend the fraud even when
they know that it is a fraud. Forget science. Forget the truth. Forget morality. With that kind of
power, you can redefine freedom and morality in your favour, and even
show contempt for those who demonstrate your fraud – from as high up
as the throne of the ministry of health, for example. Once you get the
“right” crusade started you will govern the lives of all with no
responsibility, no accountability, and even with laws defending your
criminal actions – indeed, you may even have streets and parks named
after you for having been a “good” criminal. In one word: unbeatable.

Spot a smoker from the air!
- Now, the only people who have to worry about the new “spy drone” are
“anti-social” people, right? That’s a great comfort, isn’t it, since you’re not
“anti-social”, right? (Yeah, yeah, “Why should I worry about the government
conducting airborne surveillance in every public space and across the
countryside? It’s only to protect me. After all, I have nothing to hide!”) On
second thought, better check the New Labour Mullahs’ latest weekly updates
before you make any rash assumptions about your status as an acceptable person.
The marketing/pr
(or lack thereof) is interesting here. Usually, we’re being drowned in the muck
of double-speak, PC-gabble and and cute euphemisms, especially when the
politicos are worried that they’re going to offend too many people if they speak
plainly. Obviously, the notion of domestic police spying is now deemed so
mainstream and uncontroversial that actually calling the spy drones “spy drones”
poses no problems even for the spin doctors of bureaucracy and media. Sad days,
bad days.

We
link to an antismoking page for the purpose of informing our Ohio
readers on where to go and have a cigarette. Coherent with the USSR
credo in spy networks that the antismoking scum loves, the website
invites the readers to squeal to the health Gestapo on any
infringement of its fraud-based law. We would not normally
publish this, as we are openly supporting those businesses that have
the balls to respect the right to smoke but since the antitobacco scum has
already exposed them, we may as well let you know where to go and
enjoy your right. What do we hear? Smokers have no rights? Perhaps so. That only means that it is high time to take them
back
as any oppressed group should. And of course it means to break the
“law”. Tyrants always make laws to suit themselves, and any fight for
freedom always meant the breaking of some law. And when the fight was
won, the law was changed. Nothing new under the sun. So, let’s crack
out that brand new pack of smokes.

Majority of U.S. parents not in favor of HPV vaccine mandates
- Months back, FORCES was critical of what appeared to
us to be a rather bullying rush to get the public to immediately accept the HPV
vaccine as part of mandatory vaccination programs. The criticism was
not based on any faulting of the vaccine itself (although it has only recently
been made available, in itself perhaps an argument for some degree of initial
conservatism). It was based instead on the hectoring way in which public health
authorities, in the context of an increasingly authoritarian and coercive school
public health regime (look at what’s happened with Ritalin, for example), were
contemptuously brushing aside any concerns the public might have in the
immediate furtherance of their goals.
Our
perception has been strengthened by some recent polling that indicates that a
key reason for much parental reluctance over the program can be found in
misgivings over new vaccine safety.
“
Most notably, 85 percent of parents surveyed feel that vaccines are a good way
to protect their children from infectious disease, Davis says. It was parents'
attitudes, however, about the safety of new vaccines that ultimately factor into
their support of mandates for the HPV vaccine. While 43 percent of parents agree
new vaccines are safe for children, nearly half of all parents feel neutral
about the safety of new vaccines.”
“…. Not surprisingly, a higher proportion of parents who do not believe new
vaccines are safe are opposed to a mandate for the HPV vaccine, compared with
parents who view new vaccines as being safe.”
Public health is so busy with health hysteria propaganda, it is becoming like
the boy who cried wolf. Its resources will be spent on unproductive and socially
destructive PR campaigns, while its good ideas will be viewed with mounting
distrust. Good going, folks.

Skin-cancer stats fall on young deaf ears, but wrinkles, now those are scary
(for the fools, that is)
- Twenty-eight percent of people who “work on their tan” at the beach are now
“addicts.” Pharmaceutical sun-block cream is the “cure.” There’s even “Ultra
Violet Polaroid pictures” to prove that behind the beautiful face lurks an ugly,
wrinkled skin. So how long before people without sun-block
cream are also banned from the beaches?
No need to worry. Current global warming junk “statistics” tell us the sea
level will rise 20 to 40 feet due to melting ice caps. Problem solved, 95 percent of all beaches
will soon disappear.
Then we can ban sun-block and
eliminate the huckster epidemiology used to sell it.

Wales: smokers forced to wear the yellow star
- You know, the most unfortunate thing that has happened during the
history of FORCES is that many people thought we were exaggerating
for effect, or that we were extremists. What we did in reality
was
look at history repeating itself and project it forward.
When we called antitobacco a neo-Nazi movement many on our own
side said that such a definition would “turn off” people, and
not to use it – too rhetorical, they said. These people, of course,
were (and are) making a serious mistake, for they still think that
they are in some sort of popularity contest where all it takes is to
“win the public opinion” in the smoking “debate”, without realizing
that this is a hate campaign which is EXACTLY what the German
Nazi Party promoted on a racial base – same basic ideology except
(so far) for concentration camps. So smokers did not listen –
and we were right.
“Public health”
and the mentality/scale of values it represents is the
reincarnation of the Nazi Party, and those who refuse to accept that fact are
the sad reincarnation of Chamberlain with his idiotic politics of appeasement.
Look at this episode in Wales, where “smokers are being marked out for
all to see in nightclubs across the city. Clubbers who want to light up are
having to wear wristbands at some of
Cardiff’s most
popular nightspots in the wake of Wales’ smoking ban. Nightclubs are also being
forced to pay thousands of pounds for extra door staff to supervise the smoking
area and monitor the queue of smokers entering and exiting the clubs.”
This is not an isolated case, as there are precedents, and it is destined to
become the standard unless something serious is done about it.
It is so
tempting to say “we told you so, you idiots”, but we will not say it: to
err is human – but to persevere is diabolical. Now that you know
what the next step is going to be, now that you are marked as a “dirty Jew”,
what are you prepared to do about it? You know what it takes:
organizing locally and supporting FORCES – the only group that has always fought
for the dignity of everyone’s lifestyle; dedicating your valuable time to
this important fight; taking to the streets with demonstrations and being
prepared for violent acts of repression by the Nazi “health authorities”.
It takes heavy duty boycott of the health “establishment” with any means and
way possible, as to create the maximum possible damage. It
requires not wasting time with “compromises” and “negotiations” that “public
health” is unwilling to consider. It takes an acknowledgement that this
is a war – not a debate – so anything goes. The alternative is
to quit smoking (drinking, eating), be branded anyway and, peacefully and
orderly, like good obeying victims should do, line up for the concentration
camps and forced pharmaceutical detox – childless, unemployed, spat on,
abandoned by the state that you are forced to contribute to anyway for the
benefit of the non smoking, non drinking, non eating Master Race. The
choice is yours, never say that you don’t have freedom of choice! Just don’t
take too long to decide, the Nazis are trotting.

1.6 Billion pounds to implement a fraud
– “Implementing the smoking ban in England will cost taxpayers, restaurateurs
and pub landlords at least £100 million more than the Government originally
budgeted. The Department of Health estimated that the bill for the ban, that
comes into force in a month's time, would run to £1.6 billion. While this takes
into account paying for advertising, falling tobacco duty and hiring extra staff
to police the ban, the Government has said it will be offset by the benefits to
the NHS as smoking diseases fall.”
In reality (and so far) this is the largest investment driven by
pharmaceutical agendas so far. Let us never forget that the “benefits”
projected are based on computer models whilst not even one death can be
scientifically demonstrated to be caused by smoking. Reading the rest
of the article about the loss of liberty and business is simply chilling.
This is the greatest hit to liberty in British history. Britain is on its
way to become a very ugly police state, driven by criminal institutions that are
piloted by pharmaceutical multinational interests that justify themselves by
waving
false medical and statistical information. Will the proud Brits stand the
pressure of the 21st century Nazi state, which is now poised to crush
them? Will they fight fraud and dictatorship with what it takes?
Will they ultimately take those who are responsible to trial? History will
tell. In the meantime, special police corps are being trained to repress
and suppress the rights of citizens beating the population in to submission by
the healthist regime. Has Hitler won the battle of Britain? We don’t
know yet – but the bridgehead sure is there.

A chemical feast: barbecue season in the heartland of anti-smoking
(subscription required for link) - Start reading about the barbeque season
in ostensibly smoke-free California, and the culinary news is all about
what a tasty (but toxic!) treat cooked meat is. Keep on reading, and the
story gets murkier, as it becomes clear that studies ultimately differ as
to whether there’s much real danger at all in connection with cooked meat,
whether barbecued or not.
Nonetheless,
the entire exercise begs the question: if barbecuing is as horrific as this
article at times suggests, why isn’t it being banned with the same zeal as
cigarettes? Check out this description:
“PAHs
are technically the incomplete combustion products of fuel and are best known as
components in air pollution and cigarette smoke. However, the World Health
Organization estimates that 80% to 90% of our exposure to PAHs comes through
food. Smoke clouds from charcoal grills and those fat drip flare-ups are packed
with PAHs. And, again, the longer the cooking or smoking time, the greater the
coating of carcinogens. “
So maybe it’s
time to ban selective foods as being a worse threat to health than smoking. Can
second-hand food scares be far behind?

Pin-ups
banned in the British Navy
- It is true that when the cancer of prohibition invades the social body, it
spreads rapidly everywhere until the host is dead. On top of all the other
heavy-duty repressions and surveillance, Great Britain now also forbids its Navy
sailors to have pin-up girls in their own lockers.
“Royal Navy top brass have secretly banned sailors pinning up photos of The
Sun’s Page 3 girls. Orders sent out to all 39,000 personnel outlaw the display
of topless pictures — even in the privacy of their locker doors and stowage
containers. Sailors flouting the ban face fines. One said: ‘The lads
are fuming.’ A 2004 ban lasted just two months.”
It may be so, but now the ban is back because the prohibition
mentality was not eliminated, and it just waited for the next opportunity to
peak out - and here it comes again. One may say that getting hot about the
pin-up issue is puerile, but such a person should be careful not to look like a pin head. This “silly” prohibition reaffirms the principle that the “authorities” have the
right to regulate your own private life -- along with spying on you with CCTV
cameras, denying surgery if you smoke or you are fat (alcohol is next on line,
don’t worry), fingerprint you even if you committed no crime, and so on.
We are spectators (and victims) of a powerful implosion of
liberty that spreads at the speed Nazism spread in Germany in the 1930s. The
fascination with absolute, totalitarian control on even the smallest
manifestations of personal behaviour is with us again – but this time it is at
the planetary level. And, this time, there is the technology to enable
that control! So, it boils down to the usual question, doesn’t it? What are
we prepared to do about that? Sure, the pin-ups are “not worth fighting
about” – nor is eating, driving, smoking, drinking, walking in the street being
watched… So, say: what is worth fighting about?...

Smokers a minority?
- Anti-smokers want us to believe that the
non-smoking majority of the population "suffers" from people lighting up. They
don't care about minority rights. After all, most people nowadays are non smokers,
right? Well, that applies to most parts of the world. But there's a small place
somewhere in Europe where things appear to be a little bit different. The most
recent substance usage survey in Austria - granted by the Ministry of Health -
reveals that 38 % of the adult Austrian population are regular smokers - and 13
% are occasional smokers. That sums up to 51 %! So, an Austrian 18 years or
older is more likely to smoke than not. And they seem to be proud smokers, too, as the new Eurobarometer poll by the
European Commission shows that only a minority of the Austrians supports
smoking bans in bars. Bad luck for European Health Commissioner Kyprianou who
is whining now that Austria hasn't been brainwashed enough.

Tabloid
sensationalism or real action?
The debate on “which is what” is going on. Surprisingly,
certain “Smokers’ Rights Groups” in England not only do not believe it, but
also don’t seem to want to be part of the rebellion! The reason? “We are
engaged in a battle of ideas, not a campaign of civil disobedience”. How
noble – and how convenient. Let us quantify those “ideas” beyond plush words
on one hand and rabid antismoking rhetoric on the other:
-
Heavy-duty campaigns by the British NHS to demonize smokers, smoking and
to
falsely represent the effects of passive smoking on nonsmokers so that
there is hostility and social violence against those who use a legal
product.
-
Massive
financial damage to publicans and other businesses, as is happening in all
the other countries that have embraced the antitobacco pharmaceutical
“ideology”.
-
Heavy
enforcement and fines enforced even through plain clothes policemen and
CCTV cameras – a practice beloved by the Orwellian British government – to
spy on citizens and spot the “perpetrator” – that is, the criminal
who lights up a cigarette.
-
Refusal of surgical operations unless the smoker bends to the political
will of "public health" and quits smoking a month prior to the
operation
- to be verified with blood analysis - but no
reduction of the fiscal contribution of the smoker to the NHS in
proportion to the reduced service. Once again, smokers finance non
smokers' regime through extortion and forced behaviour.
Yet, there
are still those "on our side" who disassociate themselves from civil
disobedience and from a positive approach against antitobacco. And what is
the alternative course of action taken so far by them? Try this: “smoking
is bad, but…” [we want a bathroom to hide in]. “Passive smoke
‘bothers’ non smokers, but…” [we want a bathroom to hide in].
A law and a
form of implementation that has been taken – literally - straight out of the
Nazi state is defined as “bad taste” by these “SRGs” that lost their
testicles exactly at the same time that the tobacco industry did. Certainly
the industry does not want its customers to stand up for their rights to
use a legal product, but it does want them to just keep buying
and consuming that product … where? The industry is to behave “responsibly”
– that is, cooperate with the rotten-to-the-bone “health” authorities to
keep making money. Is it then scepticism that we read, or is it
shrewd and cunning crowd control of a powerful mass of consumers? Could it be that this peculiar kind of
political correctness and ostentatious "moderation" is precisely to the end
of preventing the rebellion of the oppressed by pretending to side
with them while undermining any and all politically effective initiatives
even before they are undertaken, so that smokers “get used” to the
quit-smoking indoctrination? One wonders.
No one
can accept the “denormalization” of his own smoking personality as normal -
now or ever. No one can “get used” to an institutional fraud such as
a total smoking ban is. No one can “get used” to surrendering his
freedom just because rotten institutions knowingly misrepresent
dangers that are not there by the standards of science book - standards
that
anyone can consult.
Disobedience
is in order
– and more, much more – to fight this despicable state of affairs. God save
England from antitobacco – and let’s hope that what is reported by The
Telegraph is true, and actually understated. And, if it is
overstated, that only means that more work is needed to get there –
to destroy the antismoking pharmaceutical cartel and its political pawns.
With friends like the SRGs, who needs enemies? (more

Quebec bar owners say anti-smoking law led to bar closures and lost revenues

Multimedia Project Progress Report

We are glad to announce that the process of portalization,
which includes the FORCES multimedia portal, is proceeding well. All
portals are now complete and technically operative.
They are being set up with information data-entry by many volunteers
who are donating their time from all over the world – from
Germany to Italy, from the Philippines to Canada. We estimate
that about three/four weeks (max.) is the time required for
the switch-over to the database portal systems. As a
reminder to readers, we describe here what these
super-portals will do.
·
They will bring you the news just as this site does, but in
a better and more readable format.
·
They will bring you the voices and the faces of people and
activists from around the world – to show you that you, as a
target, are not “alone” and are not “the only person in the
universe” to “feel this way”. This is what antitobacco wants
you to feel – but it is yet another lie.
·
They will offer ways to communicate and coordinate, to
improve the fight against the “health authorities” who use
fraud, brainwashing and repression to take your freedoms
away.
·
They will show all the scientific evidence in an organized,
clear and easy-to-find way. The evidence clearly shows that
“public health” and antitobacco activists are fraudulent in
their statements about smoking. You will be able to consult
that evidence directly.
·
They will educate the non-specialist with didactic,
interactive courses that will give everybody the
knowledge to understand all the details of the
greatest fraud ever conceived by governments and “health”
authorities at the expense of a huge class
of citizens around the world. This will help you understand
the depth and the gravity of the pandemic of
corruption and pandering to pharmaceutical multinationals
using false
information. Ignorance, disinformation and fear is what
the WHO-coordinated antismoking crooks around the world
count on to transform a superstition into a culture.
We are going to take those tools away from them.
·
You will see and hear interviews with all kinds of people --
including authoritative scientists who have been
systematically suppressed and intimidated, and that the
mass-media collaborating with the fraudulent “health”
authorities religiously avoid giving voice to because
they are fearful of pharmaceutical advertisement budgets
being cut off! And all the information will be verifiable
directly through the scientific evidence portal! What
mass-medium, ministry of “health” or medical “expert” can
do that?
Hang in there,
we are working hard for you – and thanks to your
generous donations, you will soon have the means and the
knowledge to defeat the antismoking fraud. Hopefully, it
will be time to celebrate with cigars and deeply inhaled
cigarettes – right in the face of antismoking laws!

Challenging the "public health" regime of her nation, she has
ignored the smoking ban, and recognized to her patrons the right
to smoke even after numerous acts of intimidation. She has done so
knowing that the health regime sooner of later would shut her
business down, depriving her of her main means of survival. And so it has
happened. Diana is not sorry for what she has done. She is
proud. She knows that
passive smoke does not hurt anyone – but especially she knows that
liberty, self-determination and property rights are more important –
far more important – than the proclaimed but so
often phantom “public
health epidemics” that are conjured up these days through manipulated computer
models. Diane is aware that she is setting an example in the fight
against
antitobacco enterprise. We will imitate you, Diana, and your courage.
In
fact, Diana Reid is indeed an example for all of us. An example of
peaceful rebellion, of reasoned dissent, of
determination in the fight against a faceless dictatorship that
hides behind junk statistics, knowingly giving
false information to instigate intolerance and hatred. Instead of passively feeling guilty and ashamed
of their life choice, all smokers should indeed follow her
example, and peacefully disregard the fraud-based antismoking laws.
We know we hurt no one. We know it’s a fraud that
will not stop with smoking. We know that the
“anti” mentality is a cancer that must be
defeated. What are we waiting for?...

Landlord
in cigs ban protest. A mass light-up will take place at a Bolton pub
on 1 July in defiance of the smoking ban
– “Nick Hogan, licensee of the 750-capacity Swan in Churchgate,
will openly flout the ban and has invited hosts from across
England and Scotland to join him. Individuals caught smoking face a
£50 fine, while Hogan could be hit with a fine of up to £2,500. ‘I am
not relishing breaking the law, but someone, somewhere has to make a
stand,’ he said. ‘I expect to be prosecuted and go to court where I
will challenge the morality and legality of this ban. I am not
pro-smoking, but I am pro-choice.’ “
We
encourage Nick and all to keep that defiance up in the same way Diana Reid
did. Some may say: “oh,
well he will be shut down… if he wants that, it’s his choice”.
But the example of these people will encourage others to challenge a
law that deserves no respect, making it too expensive to enforce - and
that's how laws get changed, nowadays - no justice, truth, or moral principles involved.
“Health" authorities,
in fact, are not interested in smokers’ respect
but just in the obedience to fraud-based
laws designed to kill choice. So it all boils down to
sheer force, doesn’t it? How much of a social and political
problem are politicians willing to endure to serve the interests of
the multinational drug companies?

Defiant: Ripley restaurant fights smoking ban
- 'Customers at this mom-and-pop restaurant have been defying the
Jackson County smoking ban for eight months now — and an injunction
petition filed in circuit court last week by the county health
department hasn’t slowed them down. Customers have offered to picket
the courthouse. They’ve offered to pay the owners’ lawyer bills.
Employees have had special T-shirts printed: “In AMERICA you can Burn
our Flag ... But DON’T you Dare Burn a CIGARETTE!” M&R Restaurant has
become the latest business nationwide to openly ignore its local
no-smoking law...' - Way to go, folks! A law that does not
respect the rights of all, itself does not deserve any respect.

A glimmer of common sense
- The advice columnist at Slate demonstrates that the invasion of the
body-snatchers has not quite claimed its last victim. The divisive hysteria of
the ETS scare, which has rent many a family and scarred many a relationship,
hasn’t fully overtaken at least one agony aunt. Read her advice to a woman who
is about to become a mother and is set to start alienating her own mother
from the new grandchild right off the bat – over what we might call third-hand
smoke. Mom’s “extreme” concern? Grandma, who plans to smoke outdoors when the
baby’s around, might pose a danger because of toxic residues on her clothes and
skin! Like the advice columnist, the husband in this situation is not yet one of
the undead, and he’s telling his anxious wife to chill out. But he’s being
trumped by the “internet research” his wife’s been doing. Her eyes are glazing
over, and the voices inside her head are saying “jettison grandma…”

England: the secret plans to turn us all vegetarian
– The flawed and exceedingly dangerous concept that the government has the
function and the duty to establish the health of the citizens above and beyond
infectious diseases has broken the dam of totalitarianism. Once upon a time,
secret government plans were for military defence against enemy invasions. Not
anymore: now the plans are against freedom of choice, self-determination and
for utter control of personal lifestyle. The enemies of personal
freedom work hard, and they have managed to penetrate the highest level of
government. Those enemies are medical associations, the pharmaceutical
industry, antismokers, anti-fatsos, and, in general, the anti mentality.
‘Secret
plans to encourage the nation to give up eating meat are being examined by the
Government. A leaked e-mail expresses sympathy for the environmental benefits of
a mass switch to a vegan diet - a strict form of vegetarianism which bans milk,
dairy products and fish. The change would need to be done "gently" because of a
"risk of alienating the public", according to the document.’
"Gently". "Phase
in". Push -- then let “them” get used to it. Then push more, always more. “Phase
out”. Call it "progress", make it seem inevitable. Convince "them" that it is
"scientific", "right" and "for their good" -- and especially that there is nothing "they" can do about
it. Then make it “socially unacceptable”. Then ban it. One step at the
time. For total control. Liberty is a dangerous bomb: it has to be disarmed
carefully.

… and from New
Zealand:
Scientists breed cows that give skimmed milk
- Genetically engineered cows that give 1% fat content skim milk. They’re going
to clone the DNA and have a herd ready to produce genetically engineered milk in
a year or so.
Here’s the
latest junk science scoop: drink inferior 1% skim milk from genetically
engineered clone cows (that don’t fart, we suppose, to avoid global warming!) as
the first step on your way to a meat and fish free vegetarian diet. You can’t
have whole milk and you can’t eat steaks from the cow. That will put you happily
down the path to “food free” anti-obesity nirvana! It’s your patriotic duty to
help save the world from a problem that does not exist as represented.
The sad thing
is that the majority of the public will say: “Ummmm… good!” as they suck down
the latest swill dished out by special-interests.
Oh boy. Now
there’s a plan! The bad new is that it may work. The good news is that we can do
something about it: refute healthism as an ideology and destroy it.
The ban culture

An interesting ban
– Bans are very fashionable, these days. There are bans on everything:
smoking, drinking, trans-fat, cellular phones. Bans on pictures, words,
expressions, ideas, science, truth, different opinions, dogs, cats. Think of
anything that makes life worth living - and you will have found a ban. The capricious use
of bans is a way to say “I can’t deal with it, so I ban it”. Bans have
become the equivalent of borders, defining areas of influence and control that
are becoming ever more fragmented – shrinking down to the size of an individual.
If we bring this process to its logical conclusions, it is easy to see that every individual will ban the world because
he cannot deal with it. The “anti” and “ban” mentality should be the only, REAL panic button that our dying culture and
civilization should push in a hurry.
Now heterosexuals
are banned from a gay bar by equal rights legislation, to preserve the
“convivial atmosphere” the facility seeks to preserve.
But can they smoke? What about convivial smoking? Homosexuals
can ban heterosexuals, but smokers cannot ban non smokers, while the opposite is
“right”. Here’s a quote from the article: ‘ "These exemptions
exist to protect groups in the community who are subject to being treated
less favorably, or treated unfairly compared with other groups," she told
Australian Broadcasting Corp. radio Tuesday.’ So where’s the exemption for
persons who smoke? Think hard, now: consumers of a legal substance are
denied the freedom of assembly that is guaranteed by almost any democratic
nation in the world – and this is what the WHO criminals, amongst others,
adamantly support with the use of epidemiological fraud.
The social treatment of smokers is now worse than that of blacks and Jews in the
past, for at least they were allowed to assemble in ghettos.
This is what
“public health” can do. Never forget it.

Smoking in the Free World
- A blogger disillusioned with his efforts to rally people against the effort to
crush smokers reflects on how the worst demagogic democracy has put control
freaks at the helm to ratchet up oppression – with the full blessing of the
oppressed, of course:
“History's
failures have taught present day anti-smokers valuable lessons, I suppose. In
the 21st century, smokers' worst enemy is not Big Brother. A misguided consensus
of our peers, brainwashed apologetic smokers, and people who would rather muzzle
themselves via Big Mac than speak out are the instruments of this generation of
anti-smokers. The gun pointed at tobacco's head is a perennial onslaught of PC
propaganda created by ivory towered demagogues and their minions. We've given
the government a mandate to pull the trigger. I think Hitler hated democracy
merely because he didn't know how to work the system.”
In the end, “a
misguided consensus of our peers” IS Big Brother, of course. That’s what history
was supposed to have taught us, but we’ve forgotten the lesson.

Cutting a moral panic down to size
– The self-flagellation festival over global warming is an ominous phenomenon
with the stink of oppression-in-the-making. People in the western world, while
utterly powerless to effect a curb on industrial development in places like
India and China (assuming that human activity is responsible for global warming)
stand poised to start making each other miserable over every back-yard barbecue,
every cigarette, every pet fart produced—all in the name of saving the planet.
It’s heartening to see that at least some people in a position to closely
observe self-serving (but basically ineffectual) save-the-world chest-thumping
in the entertainment world are becoming a bit jaded by it all. Recently, the
Who’s Roger Daltry sounded off about an upcoming rock extravaganza from Al
Gore’s global warming roadshow: "Bo***cks to that!
The last thing the planet needs is a rock concert. I can't believe it. Let's
burn even more fuel. We have problems with global warming, but the questions and
the answers are so huge I don't know what a rock concert's ever going to do to
help.”
What Roger may
not understand is that the purpose of a lot of this activity isn’t really to
help anything—it’s to roil up emotion, line people as the among the Saved as
opposed to the Damned, give them a focus for the anger and confusion that they
already feel, and a sense of involvement with a “righteous” cause. It’s about
emotional management in a political context—and not much else.

The
War on Fun
- From Canada,
another shot against the antis,
this time in the form of a book called The War on Fun. The author is a
conservative-libertarian publisher, Ezra Levant, best known for taking a
courageous stand during the controversy some time back over Danish cartoons
depicting the prophet Mohammed (Levant reproduced the cartoons in his magazine).
From the book:
"… many of the sources of anti-smoking 'science' [other than your tax money I
would add] are paid for not by neutral universities or academic foundations
seeking only the truth, but rather by corporations whose business depends on a
constant stream of anti-smoking information: pharmaceutical companies who sell
smoking cessation. There's nothing wrong with for-profit pharmaceutical
companies paying to promote the idea that cigarettes are unhealthy and their
smoking cessation medicines are better – but that's called 'advertising' when
it's done in other industries. In the anti-smoking industry, though, it's called
a scientific journal." |
