Research in service of the big bucks

July 6 [03:30 GMT]  Big Drugs, Pregnancy and Social Marketing  On June 28, 2007 the Seattle Times published an article about use of antidepressants by women who are pregnant. The article downplayed the risks to a developing fetus attributable to antidepressant use that have been well-documented in several previous studies. The Times’ take-home message was that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention believes study results are “generally reassuring” it is safe for pregnant women to continue taking drugs such as GlaxoSmithKline’s PAXIL. On the same day, June 28, 2007, The Times also published an article concerning exposure to secondhand smoke for pregnant women and the alleged risks that such exposure creates for a developing a fetus. That University of Washington study included data that purportedly demonstrates nicotine ingested through exposure to Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS) is strongly associated with later behavior problems in children and recommends further study on the subject.

The problems with the two news reports by the Seattle Times are manifold. Most glaringly apparent is the fact that many of the birth defects attributed to ETS by tobacco control advocates and in part by the University of Washington study are also attributed by other researchers to use of anti-depressants during pregnancy. Despite this confounding factor, the University of Washington study authors report no controls as to whether subjects were using prescribed antidepressants during their pregnancy.  The University of Washington study authors also report no controls for use NRT products by study participants.

We observe the curious phenomenon of University of Washington study authors inventing analysis criteria and calculation variables concerning ETS to “prove” an association that does not plausibly exist, while ignoring well-documented and highly relevant confounding factors.

Anti-tobacco economics

July 6 [03:30 GMT]  Lobbying with smokers' money  For a hoot, read the "embarrassed" comments of this anti-tobacco operative whose friend from the Big City was appalled that smoking was still allowed in restaurants in benighted Wisconsin. Bear in mind that the entire article drips a phoniness so obvious that the author's credibility about any subject is in jeopardy.

"As coordinator of the Tobacco Program of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility in Milwaukee, I oversee the effort of shareholders who raise questions about tobacco concerns with the large tobacco companies - Philip Morris USA, Reynolds American Inc. and Loews Corp."

From a resident who knows a thing or two about how anti-tobacco operates:

I am a Neanderthal. I am offensive by my very existence. I am a legal smoker of tobacco. That said, I would like to know the funding for Mr. Crosby's position and the funding for the Interfaith Center. Does any of it come from the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement? Does any of it come from Robert Woods Johnson Foundation grants, or funneled thru either of these through the state of WI? If so, I would ask him to cease and desist lobbying for a total ban on The Smoker, as I have paid him and his Center thru my tobacco taxes for years.

The questions are, of course, rhetorical and, thief that he is, Mr. Crosby has no intention of ceasing to persecute those whom he has robbed.

Junk science and propaganda

July 6 [03:30 GMT]  The best places to be a smoker  This piece of the Telegraph.co.uk begins with the link to 'Map of hospital admissions due to smoking'

Indeed, that map cannot exist, as it indicates the OPINION of a corrupt institution – the National Health System – on what it believes caused the admissions. In reality, it could have been anything else. But the idea, once again, is to depict smoking as an epidemic, and to project the emotional concept that, if it wasn’t for smoking, those hospital admissions would not take place. These maps and studies are a fraud no different than what Michael Siegel exposed about Piedmont, Italy. The industry of fraud (“public health”) stated that the hospital admissions went down two months after the ban, when in reality the admissions increased, as it turned out that the con artists manipulated the statistical figures to make them square with their political agenda.

After all the babble on the indemonstrable “causalities” and their distribution, here comes the “warning” from ASH: “These figures should send a warning to smokers. It's harder to give up spending more time with smokers”. Thank you for the “warning”, ASH – we will make sure to boycott non smoking places as much as possible, and to happily smoke together. In the meantime, here is our warning to you and to the corrupted health “authorities”: there will be payment for the frauds – you will not get away with conning the public.

Finally, the challenge of Freedom To Choose is dismissed as that of a “fringe group” that does not stand a "cat in hell's chance". Maybe. But what really does not stand a cat in hell’s chance, in the long run, are the frauds and the hatred that ASH and “public health” disseminate on smoking and smokers. Whatever it takes, institutions will be honest again.

Anti-tobacco smears

July 6 [03:30 GMT]  His advisers worked for PM, he must be evil  Fred Thompson is a presidential Republican candidate. His staffers and advisers “have worked on behalf of Philip Morris, one of the world's leading tobacco conglomerates and a leading force in promoting cigarette smoking.” Oh, my God, can you believe that?...

How disgusting! His advisers worked for a company that promotes SMOKING -- how repulsive! We all know that smoking KILLS to the point that not one death has ever been scientifically demonstrated to be caused by it! What more proof do we need? And what’s this evil doing amongst us?...

But there is more on the record of this ugly individual. Imagine that PM’s involvement “was peanuts compared to the fees Thompson got from just one lobbying client 23 years later, after another Tennessee friend, Bill Frist, was elected Senate Majority Leader. Equitas, a British firm seeking to minimize the cost of damages to Lloyds of London under pending legislation governing asbestos liability (asbestos is a known cause of respiratory diseases and of mesothelioma, a lethal lung cancer) in 2004 hired Thompson as part of a massive, $7.88 million lobbying drive.” Gosh, limiting the milking of an industry that did not know that asbestos could cause lung cancer when it used it? Absolutely immoral.

We have no doubt – we never have any: Philip Morris nearly 30 years ago and asbestos industry anti-shakedown activities: this guy is real scum, let’s get rid of him. Long live the future Third Fascist Way, where the ugly industries will be one with (and controlled by) the State. We all know that the state is the ultimate repository of all wisdom and knowledge, full as it is of “public health experts” who will finally liberate all of us from all choice (and responsibility!), and give us eternal, healthy life in exchange for our unconditional obedience.

Population Control

July 6 [03:30 GMT]  Filling in the template  King County Executive Ron Sims took the first step toward limiting greenhouse-gas emissions from new development on Wednesday with an executive order covering unincorporated parts of the county.

The order will require developers to provide information — such as square footage of buildings and estimated travel on new roads — that the county can use to project greenhouse-gas emissions. The requirement takes effect Sept. 1. Sims later plans to create emission limits for new developments. Those limits would be sent to the Metropolitan King County Council for approval.

The tobacco control model works so well in King County, Washington they now even apply it to King County and greenhouse gases and global warming. Stand by for more restrictive housing choices and higher prices for new developments. Once again, Washington demonstrates its propensity for “progressive leadership” by restricting choice and driving up process. And once again we see business leaders supporting the process.

Its no wonder that in the same issue of the Seattle Times we now read that secondhand smoke harms fetus in the womb. From the Seattle Times, June 28, 2007, “Secondhand Smoke May Affect Brain of Fetus:”

“Pregnant women who are chronically exposed to secondhand smoke may have children who are at greater risk of problems related to attention and emotion, University of Washington researchers believe. In a study released Wednesday, scientists found that children who have such psychological problems have a higher frequency of them -- or more severe troubles -- if their mothers were regularly exposed to tobacco smoke while pregnant. Those troubles include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), aggressive behavior, defiance and a behavior pattern called conduct disorder, which can include truancy, fighting, failing in school, substance abuse, theft and property destruction.”

Fight for freedom

July 5 [03:00 GMT]  Monarch definitely not irrelevant  At 81 years of age, Queen Elizabeth no doubt remembers the horrors of the Nazi bombing attacks on her beloved homeland and most certainly lost many friends and relatives who paid the ultimate price fighting to preserve freedom and a way of life for a proud people. A way of life that is under attack again. Not by a foreign dictator with bombs and bullets but by what should be considered an even more insidious and dangerous foe. A steady and relentless barrage that comes from within and is so carefully crafted that sometimes it's even greeted with cheering and applause by the very people being suppressed.

Now, some 60 years later, the Queen is rankling the rank and file of the Nazi-inspired and big-pharma financed religion of health-and-safety with statements that question the government's role in meddling in citizen's affairs. Her refusal to put up no-smoking signs in areas used by the royal family and their aides makes it pretty clear what her intentions are. Yup....smoking in the palace. "She has made it clear to courtiers she would have preferred to continue offering ash trays to visitors and allow them to indulge in their habit." It's a pretty fair bet she will continue the, now shameful, practice of tolerance and good manners towards her guests.

She obviously has no patience for these crusaders. "....she refuses to wear a hard hat when she is out riding and she refuses, too, to wear a seat belt when she travels by car."

The health Nazis may have to stop in at Buckingham Palace and smack the Queen around a bit....until she learns to behave.

Hatred

July 5 [03:00 GMT]  When epidemiology becomes hatred  Hyper-passive smoke bad for children. It’s incredible what you can do with a criminal mind and a questionnaire. We “all” know that “smoking is bad for you”. So is second hand… and third hand too!

“Children whose mothers were exposed to second-hand smoke while they were pregnant have more symptoms of serious psychological problems compared to the offspring of women who had no prenatal exposure to smoke, according to a new University of Washington study.”

Yes! Passive smoke is so deadly that mustard gas is therapeutic in comparison. Not only does passive smoke “kill” children, but it also “hurts” the children of the children! There is no need to make fun of this squalid piece of epidemiological trash, as it is self-degrading enough. Aside from the opportunistic and unethical money-grabbing of these “scientists”, what we highlight here is how hatred against something or someone takes the form of “science”. The purpose of trash like this is not just to scare the smoker into quitting by using scientific fraud (and that is bad enough!), but also instigating unlimited hatred against the smoker and the fear in the non smoker: mere exposure to a harmless substance not only damages the person exposed, but even the offspring. “If you choose to be exposed, you don’t have the right to expose your innocent child is the implicit but clear message. So, equally clearly, you have to force the smoker to put his cigarette out even if you personally don’t mind – unless you want the responsibility of creating psycho-problems for your child! And avoiding responsibility is what society is all about, today, isn’t it?...

There is enough to begin to believe that non smokers like Goebbles have much to learn from the antismoking mind. One more reason to disinfect public institutions.

Shakedown

July 5 [03:00 GMT] Licking their chops  "You're going to see some really serious exposure on the part of companies that are emitting CO2," Mr. Susman predicted. "I can't say for sure it's going to be as big as the tobacco settlements, but then again it may even be bigger. We're not going to know until the regulatory environment becomes clearer."

It's official: the anthropogenic climate change is a fraud. The proof? The lawyers are gathering, preparing to shakedown society, just as they did with tobacco. The circle, as designed by the criminals running the country, is complete. The "problem" has been identified, in this case the bogus notion that mankind is causing the world to become hot. The solution, devolving society back to the medieval times when man's carbon footprint was zero, is in the planning stages. The real goal? Massive amounts of booty flowing from the producers (business and people who profit and benefit from production) to the parasites that produce nothing but regulations and lawsuits.

July 5 [03:00 GMT] The Heartland Institute  Although with some delay, we are glad to introduce our readers to the Heartland's Smoker's Lounge, hosted by the Heartland Institute.

"Welcome to the Smoker’s Lounge, the place to go for sound science, economics, and legal commentary on tobacco issues. This “issue suite” cuts through the propaganda and exaggeration of anti-smoking groups by giving you access to the best available research and commentary from scores of independent research organizations, publications, and government sources."

A nice and educational place to be indeed.

Anti-tobacco

Antismoker Gene Borio, founder of Tobacco.org. Out of a Tolkien book. That's what non smoking does to you.

July 5 [03:00 GMT] An end to tobacco.org?  We realize that this news is no way compensates for the beginning of the British ban, but it is good news nevertheless. One of the oldest spreaders of disinformation on the effects of smoking on health is shutting down. We are talking about Tobacco.org

Fed by large pharmaceutical funding, Tobacco.org has been one of the big mouthpieces of the pharmaceutical industry for years, spreading hatred against smokers and against the tobacco industry while riding the gravy train. But, for reasons that are not totally clear, the money feed has dried up.

Of course, big boys like Tobacco.org do not bother with small donations. They just don’t pay enough: antismoking crusaders are in for the big game, because the “ideology” is simply not enough to justify volunteer work. We can understand that: spreading false and distorted information is only worth it if there is serious money involved -- especially in the absence of morality or principles. But lying for nothing is just too much work.

That’s the difference between pushing the truth and pushing a fraud: those who push the former – such as FORCES – do it for nothing and the donations have always gone to the fight against the industry of fraud, 100% of them -- and nothing in our pocket. Why? Because we have the ideology of truth, and we have decided that we’ll never “get used” to a socially acceptable fraud. We therefore have the MOTIVATION, and we do not need to be paid to fight. And yes, we do appreciate small donations.

Those who push antitobacco, instead, need fat paycheques because there is no motivation – and, perhaps, there is also a need for monetary compensation to keep conscience under control. That is why the key to the destruction of the industry of fraud is to cut the money – or at least to create political and social problems to make the antitobacco enterprise too expensive to sustain. It worked for alcohol prohibition. It will work for tobacco prohibition too. It’s an inescapable law of economics – and history always repeats itself.

Oppression

July 5 [03:00 GMT] New Labour isn’t the villain  Spiked magazine’s recent round-up piece on the reactions to smoking bans in various cities of the world yielded some great one-liners from disgruntled citizens, like the one quoted above. But very disappointingly, Spiked missed the opportunity to put the issue into a wider political perspective for its readers.

Deputy editor Rob Lyons says the British government shows a lack of “vision” or “mission” by resorting to measures like smoking bans: “…isn’t there also something sad about a government that has to force people to stub out cigarettes in order to make a connection with us?”, he wonders.

Spiked editor Brendan O’Neill, in his contribution on the smoking ban in Ireland, also concedes the issue has political dimensions, but he reserves his comments only for the way Irish polticians are instrumentalizing the opportunity, noting that “the scandalised and corrupt Irish authorities are trying to fashion a sense of mission, to re-present themselves as altruistic and future-oriented. And they have chosen the issue of smoking on which to do that because they instinctively know that these interventions into personal health matters generate little protest or rebellion these days.”

And so on, as correspondents report anecdotally from the cities of Paris, Rome, Brisbane, New York, Stockholm. Only the headline of this article, “The global crusade against the evil weed” hints at the real core of the problem –- an international movement that, once having built momentum, moved on to abuse the inherently undemocratic mechanism of international treaties to “oblige” governments to go after smokers. If credibility-challenged national governments find anti-smoking authoritarianism a convenient “cause” to embrace, it’s partly because legislatures – although this is rarely pointed out – have treaty obligations which ensure they will vote anti-smoking measures and pressure local governments to enact complementary supporting measures. It’s too easy for them to jump on the bandwagon. Or, better said, since the band wagon is already on the move, their legislative rubber stamp only serves to legitimize the exercise in the eyes of the public as the product of a functioning national democracy.

In another recent Spiked article on the British smoking ban, editor Mike Hume calls the ban “a typical New Labour measure”, similarly missing the point that New Labour’s reach does not extend to California and Colorado, Australia, Bhutan (it went so far as to make tobacco actually illegal two years ago), all across Canada (the “tolerant” nation where a recent Supreme Court decision recently put “health” – whatever that may mean in practice – above the constitution), and step by step, all over Europe. New Labour? What has Mr. Hume been smoking?

“Follow the money,” is the investigative journalist’s trusty slogan, but who is following the money – nationally and especially internationally –- in the story of the world-wide anti-smoker movement? Spiked has contributed some thoughtful pieces on the issue, but it is missing the big story. Some media outlet, somewhere, needs to assign a decent budget and really do a deep investigative report into the international movement to police and micromanage our lifestyles irrespective of what party is in power in an individual nation, and done in a way that no change of poltical players, no lawsuits, and no constitutional challenges can touch.

The real story here is that a carefully crafted manoeuvre of “global governance” is being used to seduce all governments and screw the citizens of every nation before they even begin to understand the nature of the beast.

Prohibition

July 4 [03:00 GMT]   What is going to happen next in England?   “Smoking ban a great success”. “Poll indicates that 87% of the population supports the smoking ban”. “Rates of smoking declining already”. “No flexion in liquor sales”. That is followed by interviews of smokers that state that “this is the opportunity to quit I have been looking forward for a long time”. Just give it a few weeks.

Save and print this page and consult it in one month time, perhaps even earlier.

How do we know all this? Experience. Knowledge of the procedure that the mass media lackeys have been told to adopt. Knowledge of the false and biased information circulated by the antismoking trash. ASH and the rest of the antismoking gangs are working hard to pressure and intimidate the remaining British media that still give some voice to dissent – to silence that dissent (or make it look sick and weird), so that the correct voice will be given only to pro-prohibition. In that way it will look like the support for the ban is overwhelming – a word beloved by the antismoking con artists.

All those are tested sound bites, studied and prepared by the “public health” commissars and their minions who are paid off by the pharmaceutical industry, as well as with the silent assent of the bent over tobacco industry.

In one month, “the British have completely accepted the smoking ban”, and “...already no one can conceive how we put up with noxious smoking for all this time”. "Cigarette sales have declined by 4%" and, a little later: "...study shows that XXX (minimum three digits) lives have been saved by the ban". Further "studies" will show "a decrease in hospitalizations for "smoking-related" diseases by both smokers and especially non smokers since the beginning of the ban". That will be achieved through data stratification – a statistical artifice used in Italy, Canada and United States.

The statistical fraud is perpetrated by dividing the hospitalizations in age classes and showing ONLY the age class that, by random chance, showed a hospitalization decrease. The presentation rhetoric fits the class: if it is children, "children have been saved"; if it is the old, "lives have been spared"; if it is working age, it is "dicreased exposure in the workplace", and the preferred subjects of the fraudulent rhetoric are the hospitality industry workers. Normally, in these kind of "studies" the total number of hospitalizations increases, but that information is kept from the public to show that passive smoking is a health hazard, and that its removal creates measurable health benefits.
The fraudulent technique is described by Michael Siegel on the Piedmont study.

Remember – always – that "public health" has become a criminal enterprise that does not hesitate to defraud the population with manipulated data as long as it can further the political and marketing agenda of the pharmaceutical multinationals. The health institutions are marionettes whose strings are pulled by a tiny minority of fanatics such as ASH.

Once the ban in is place, one thing happens to each and every country: all mass-media activities are geared to convince the population that the population cheers prohibition and that it accepts the measures. Showing popular consensus is a history-tested technique used by ALL totalitarian governments.

Already the mass-media have suffocated or underplayed the disobedience of the first day of the ban in order to discourage resistance. Don't fall for that. But it must be kept in mind that, from the day of the ban, one cannot believe any word that he hears or reads by the mass media on the smoking issue, as the agenda is shifted to undermine your psychological resistance and make you accept the fait accompli. Rather, one is to continue to boycott and damage the economy while making the life of nagging non smokers as miserable as they try to make his, now that they feel empowered by the industry of fraud.

You are the injured party; you are the victim of the institutional and media fraud; and non smokers do not have any “right” to be “protected” from a danger that does not exist. In short, you are in the right and they are in the wrong – thus you are justified to fight them with any and all means at your disposal, as anything goes.
It is as simple as that.

American Independence

July 4 [19:00 GMT]   Considerations on the 4th of July - Considerations by an American citizen on the fading perception of the individual self-determination that made America great. Who lost the Cold War, really? The USA used to be a powerful, roaring lion for liberty, and an example of unbounded freedom for the entire planet. Look at it today: a healthist, politically correct, hollow shell. The clash with the Communist ideology is over – but the historical result is not the victory of freedom. It is the merging of Communism and Capitalism – a fusion that is resulting in the Third Way. Too bad that the Third Way already existed: it was called Fascism.

Anti-smoking inventions

The "Product of Defiance"

....for sale at "only" $59.95 + $10.00 for "carton" (unspecified actual amount)...

...That you must be 18+ to see (kids, click anyway because they let everybody in)...

... turns out to be a Chinese SMOKING CESSATION DEVICE!

July 3 [03:00 GMT]  Electronic losers?  We read: “FINALLY you can ‘smoke’ ANYWHERE and ANY TIME you want! Legal water vapor! […] On the Day of Defiance, smokers around the world are given back their right to enjoy a legal product as they please, and go anywhere they want once again.”

Mmhh… what kind of defiance is the use of a device that the law permits?... We mean, where is the defiance? Are we talking, once again, about the illusion of being fighters, or being real fighters by disobeying the law? And if smoking is a right, how come it can be taken away or given back?

Let’s face the real issue, if you please -- as it seems to us that we are missing the target as usual. The issue is the right to smoke - better yet, the conquest of the legal right to smoke that was the custom but was never specifically protected by law. The electronic cigarette is nothing but a nicotine inhaler. Is the issue how to go around the ban with some device, or is it how to beat the ban in the long run with disobedience, creation of political problems and with the continuous exposure of the institutional fraud on active and passive smoke? If junk like those devices is adopted, it will only prove that we are nicotine "addicts" - not "freedom fighters" or fighters for health institutions that have some integrity.

The first thing to do therefore is to establish what we want: freedom or "nicotine fixes"? Do we want to prove that we are “addicts”, or fight for the right to smoke the real McCoy?

If the choice is the former, and if these nicotine devices become common use, not only will the bans stay forever but, once established in the culture, a way will be found to ban even those devices -- guaranteed! Let us never forget that the WHO program is to eliminate any form of nicotine intake -- whether smoked or otherwise -- unless it is of pharmaceutical origin. The message to deliver, therefore, is that we will not submit to politicized scientific fraud by health "authorities", nor will we accept to undergo cultural engineering -- with or without nicotine delivery devices.

Furthermore, the “electronic cigarette” advertised as a way to “beat the ban” is, in reality, a Chinese product that “helps you stub out the habit”, as described in this Reuters press release of May 9, 2007. So, at the end of it all, the device of “defiance” turns out to be a smoking cessation trick! If you want to quit smoking, all you need to do is put down the pack – and conform to the impositions. No need to fall for marketing scams – but there sure seems to be a desperate need to become a little bit less naïve.

In short, the problem is to be eliminated at the root. To use a metaphor, when you get the beating you can either develop a thicker skin (and that will induce the abuser to get a bat with spikes), or keep a thin skin but take the bat away from the beater -- and use it on him.

We unconditionally vote for the second option -- for the first one will only guarantee more beating.

Justice

July 3 [03:00 GMT]  Legal challenge to smoking ban  Campaigners for the right to smoke are expected to launch a High Court challenge over the Government's smoking ban in enclosed public places”.

Regardless of its outcome, this test case represents an important turning point for those who defend the right to smoke and fight for the restoration of institutional integrity. The case, in fact, represents a different attitude of smokers towards the industry of fraud. No longer do smokers ask for “a place to hide”. No longer do they apologize for their way of life. No longer do they “try to quit”. The attitude is to make the industry of fraud quit. Quit its statistical frauds and misrepresentations of evidence. Quit its defrauding citizens with their own money. Quit its paternalism that nobody voted for, or asked for.

The debate is over – we agree. Now is time for total war.

Disfunction

July 3 [03:00 GMT]  Anti Morality  “The night before Tyler DeLeon turned 7, he was so thirsty he ripped a hole in the screen of his bedroom window to eat snow. By the next evening, Tyler was dead. He weighed just 28 pounds, the size of an average 2-year-old.

Dehydration is the official cause of death, but authorities think Tyler suffered a variety of abuses at the hands of his adoptive mother, Carole DeLeon, a woman who led a seemingly ordinary life as a paralegal with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Spokane. Records released this week by the state Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) say that between 1988 and 2005, DeLeon had deprived at least four other adoptive or foster children of food and that she was accused of punishing her biological children by withholding food, as well. Yet DSHS didn't recognize the pattern until after Tyler died in January 2005. The records, which document DeLeon's history.”

The picture of this woman speaks volumes: crying, wailing, and gnashing of teeth and being arrested for homicide by child abuse. It’s all about her and her grief at being busted, the kids being a distant irrelevant consideration. She shows no more concern for the consequence of her dysfunctional behavior on children Read the article: the typical Anti-Mentality. I have said for years that there is a correlation between a compulsion for control and child abuse. Washington Department of Health and Human Services has enough time to mandate “Smoke Free” environments, but cannot be bothered to identify and stop death by starvation or thirst in foster homes. The Agenda Afflicted are losers I the worst extreme: their repugnant compulsion to control others overrides common decency and sense. Time to clean out the entire nest of filth in state government executive branch offices. -- Comments by Norman Kjono

Hysteria

July 3 [03:00 GMT]  Zero exposure is absolute health  Another holy grail of the healthist ideology is that zero exposure is the only way to guarantee 100% health – another way to express the belief that if we eliminate ALL the causes of disease and death, death and disease will not take place.

This concept is as eminently linear (and stupid) as the Marxist elimination of money as the cause of all social inequity was. As time goes, the only thing that changes is the topic, but not the universal constant of bureaucratic idiocy. That is why the nihilistic healthist ideology is based on the number zero (zero tolerance, zero exposure, zero dialogue…): idiocy admits a lot of arrogance, but NO debate and intellect. The truth is already in the pocket – why waste time arguing about it?

Take this example of “emissions killing our children”. Should school buses idle while the kids board them, or turn the engine off? Perhaps restarting the engine creates even more emissions? Alarm – that’s always the right thing to do! How do we ever achieve the zero exposure target? Zero exposure is absolute health! Perhaps we should go back to the horse – but horses make emissions too, through their methane farts, and cause global warming! Plus, methane is a carcinogen! We should really find the way of moving without consuming energy, shouldn’t we? Hell there outta be a law about that!

In reality exposure is dangerous only in massive and concentrated quantities, but it is bad to say that: health first of all – truth, reality and freedom can wait.

Editorial

July 2 [08:00 GMT]  British Day of Defiance a success - The British Day of Defiance has been a success. We have received several letters from participants satisfied with the outcome. The antismoking law has been broken with no intervention of the police.

This is good news. It was a celebration of the intention not  to respect a law that is fundamentally based on fraud and on pharmaceutical industry self-interest, and promoted with disgusting paternalism. ‘Dear “public health”, take your fraud and paternalism and shove it: we will not obey’ is the clear message launched.

But now the difficult part begins: endurance. It was wise (and very PR-oriented) for the police not to intervene in the defiance. The police are not supposed to look oppressive – and orders were probably issued to allow smokers to “get it out of their systems”. But the general instructions are loud and clear: SUPPRESS – from now on – one person at a time, one pub at a time, until backs are broken and the fear of (“public health”) God is put into both smokers and pub owners. Will smokers continue the pressure? Will they continue to disobey a law that deserves no respect? Will they be able to create the economic damage, the social pressure, the turmoil and political problems that are necessary to defeat the public fraud and the pharmaceutical agenda? Will they make the ban too expensive and too chaotic to enforce (given that the debate with “public health” is “over”, and actually was never there)?

Those are the fundamental questions, and the only ones that really matter. Unless sizeable  damage is created; unless there are long-lasting negative consequences for Big Health “authorities”; and if smokers just roar, mumble and then bend over, the antismoking crooks will declare the ban a success. (Actually, they will declare it a success anyway, because that is the World Health Organization established protocol). That’s one more reason why the failure of the ban should be as spectacular as possible – to the point that not even anti-tobacco’s mass-media lackeys can hide it.

Yesterday the lives of millions of British smokers were damaged and changed thanks to an institutional fraud. Now what is to be seen is whether smokers can damage and change institutional “public health” in return – and, in doing so, prompt a clean-up of the institution, stimulating politicians to shut down repressive programs and cut short the careers of operatives working with contempt for the tradition of liberal democratic society.

In the meantime, here is a link to “The Bolton Smoke In” and to the “English Defiance!” pages, both on the Freedom to Choose site. Also, here is a description of the event from Bladimir Tolstoy, correspondent from England.

Fight for freedom

July 2 [03:00 GMT]  A Message to Smokers  It’is a matter of TRUST, is it not?... This piece by Joe Jackson is our recommended reading today, and it was written in occasion of the onset of the British smoking ban, a very sad day for England.

Aside from the passive smoke fraud, the fundamental point that Jackson makes is that of trust – trust in “public health” in general and in the doctor in particular. Can we trust those who lie to us once we know they lie? Can we trust them even if we don’t know that they lie? In something as important as lifestyle control – with the huge socio-economic, political and cultural repercussions – aren’t we obligated to go check for ourselves instead of blindly believing in medical “authority” on the grounds that it is not “political”?

“There's an old saying: 'trust me, I'm a doctor'. But I'm asking you to trust me because I'm not. Many people these days, including newspaper editors and politicians, are simply not willing to challenge or question medical authorities. They are assumed to be the only people on earth who are never wrong, biased, dishonest, or corrupt. But unquestioning faith in any authority is naïve and dangerous, and this is just as true in the case of 'health' as in the case of religion or politics (they all claim to know what's best for us, after all).”

In his quiet and balanced way, what Jackson says is the most subversive and dangerous concept there is, as it questions the trust in the most powerful political control that there is: not that of the Prime Minister or politicians, but that of the medical class. How to fight

July 2 [03:00 GMT]  What works (and what doesn't)  We have received this letter from a reader in Canada. We believe that this letter is significant in understanding the futility of certain actions against antitobacco, and the need to concentrate on what works instead.

Of course we will be accused of being “extreme” – an accusation that has been going on since FORCES began, simply because the victims of “public health” and antismoking groups have never understood the extremism of “public health’s” social engineering programs. In one sentence, they will go all the way.

Either you have to be prepared to do the same, match the stakes and call their bluff (but they are NOT bluffing!) or obey, be silent and waste no more time fighting them.

Please read the letter we received and our answer to it.

How it ends

July 2 [03:00 GMT]  A peek into the future  On this side of the barbed wire there are the drinkers, on the other side the fatsos. Smokers are in a separate camp, to prevent them from threatening the health of the other addicts with their exhausts. Of course the camps are not camps, they are cessation centres.

Their inhabitants are just too eager to be cured, hoping to get back their medicare, their jobs, their pensions and especially their children, who have been taken away by the State to protect them against the vicious addictions (and examples) of their parents. The human race must be healthy. Health is the paramount value.

The symbols of the five Corporations that are now actually governing the world and provide the indispensable drugs for good health, long life and especially social order tower over all camps. Thanks to those corporations there is no more social disharmony, as all agree about everything. People have discovered that not even elections are necessary anymore, because polemics and arguments are bad for public health and the economy, as they cause Potential Years of Life Lost.

The World Ministry of Health (WMH), consisting of five members - one from each Corporation - now takes care of laws, politics, economics, environment, information, state and industrial priorities, thanks to the successful fusion between corporate pharmaceuticals and the state. History has been finally set straight, by recognizing that Mussolini’s doctrine was indeed the way to happiness, and his pictures are now mandatory in any public place.

Only a few hundreds of thousands of smokers, drinkers and fatsos are left in the world, and they are helped in centres like this, that claim 98% recovery from their disease. The remaining 2% constitutes most of the low life, and most of the recalcitrant resistance to goodness. The case of those who resist is truly terminal because they deny their addiction and they even label it as “liberty” instead of the prescribed “freedom from”. They are nostalgic for motorcycles driven without helmets and for big cars driven without safety belts in which - incredible! - they could even smoke, eat hamburgers and have occasional drinks in the presence of their children! Who in his right mind would want something like that? They even long for unsurveilled communications and streets without cameras, where unspeakable crimes were committed, and without even a loudspeaker to tell them what not to do. That alone is scientific proof of their nasty sickness. Despised with extreme prejudice by society, all that those people evoke is just the utter contempt once reserved for paedophilia -- another disease now successfully cured with chemical lobotomy.

But they are been dealt with -- although calls for their lethal injection are held back with the appropriate psychodrugs. The supporters of such crude punishment actually don't seem to understand that the problem will solve itself, eventually. Those sick people are already denied anything that the State allocates to decent people -- such as food credits, medical attention, disability pensions and antidepressants. Why waste social resources on people who can be better helped by denying those resources to them? Regular statistics are published by the WMH on their useless deaths that follow their useless lives. And all that just because they refuse to quit, so they quit existing.

We have done what's right, our conscience is clear. The year is 2020. The place is anywhere. Only a few more years before the final triumph of “public health”, and the beginning of an endless era of long life, peace and tranquillity: the peace of emptiness, the tranquillity of a machine.

This is not a gloomy fiction. It has already begun. What are you prepared to do to keep it a fiction? I know what I have to do, and my conscience is already clear.

Anti-tobacco uber alles

July 2 [03:00 GMT]  Canada: Constitution must bend to 'public health'  If you had any doubt left in your mind that “public health” is by leaps and bounds more important than the constitutional guarantees of liberty, this decision from Canada should erase it.

"The bench unanimously and unequivocally upheld a federal law that tightly restricts advertising and requires tobacco companies to put graphic health warning labels, such as cancerous lungs, on cigarette packages. 'Restrictions on tobacco advertising are a valid exercise of Parliament's criminal law power,' Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin wrote in the 9-0 ruling."

There you have it – and remember that “public health” does not even have to scientifically demonstrate that a legal product is harmful: all it takes is a good combo of declared “consensus”, hate promotion, false information and suppression of opposition. The writing is on the wall for all to see: to nullify constitutions – indeed to adapt the constitutions to the agenda – all it takes is to have “public health” declare a product or a behaviour “unhealthy”. When “health” is in conflict with freedoms and constitutions, health is to prevail and constitutions and principles have to adapt and conform. Get it -- and obey!

And don't hope that the Banana Republic of Canada is different than where you live: this ideology is a planetary cancer spread by the WHO and its pharmaceutical masters. The back of healthism must be broken at its most basic, with popular political actions and spectacular disobedience.

Read the rest of the article, try not to be sick (that’s unhealthy!), and look at the perversion of the principles and the imposition of domestic policies by supranational treaties (WHO) – treaties signed without a national referendum. Read the calls for even more abuse and absolute power to be delivered into the hands of “public health” and its pharmaceutical controllers, now even more powerful than national constitutions. Perhaps now would be a good time to stop being sheep? The alternative is utter dictatorship, let’s not kid ourselves.

And here is the final insult to decency, spat on the face of Canadians by the minister of health Tony Clement: "Speaking as a parent, not as a politician, I would be extremely perturbed if my 10-year-old daughter, who has the occasional use of a cellphone, receives a text message from tobacco companies." Next are the alcohol and food companies.

But Mr. Clement does not make a sound about the hammering advertisement of the pharmaceutical companies, of course, that are allowed to bombard the public with unrestricted advertisement -- and to drug the entire population.

No one can afford to irritate the boss, eh, Tony?... We will sure smoke one up to that -- and to hold back the puke that what you represent induces.

Anti-tobacco backfires

July 2 [03:00 GMT]  English refuse to be panicked into kicking habit  This piece from the Telegraph.co.uk is as interesting as it is disinforming. The opening statement is the absolutely indemonstrable and typical anti-tobacco fraud:

: “Our map for The Daily Telegraph is based on the number of people admitted to hospital for breathing difficulties caused by cigarettes.” But how do they know? They don’t, of course. They don’t because they can’t. They can’t because breathing difficulties are caused by hundreds of factors – ignored by rotten “public health” to scare people into quitting through false information.

Let’s go on with an even more perverse statement: “We know that older people and people who are poorer are more likely to suffer from diseases caused by smoking”. But if they are old and poor, they are exposed to many more of the other factors that cause those diseases. Here the utterly dishonest (and idiotic) implication to con people into quitting is that if those old and poor people weren’t smoking they would not suffer from those diseases – or, perhaps, old and poor people would suffer as much as rich and younger people? Remember always: not one disease is unique to smoking, or can be scientifically demonstrated to be caused by smoking.

Let us proceed with the antismoking credo: “The introduction of a ban on smoking in public places will undoubtedly encourage people to smoke less” – followed by figures that do not say that both in Scotland and Ireland smoking has picked up to normal levels, and probably even more thanks to contraband, that cannot be quantified in official figures. “In
Scotland, smoke-free laws came into effect last year. Tens of thousands of people have given up smoking since.” Yes, but tens of thousands of people have started smoking – thank God – and the absolute number has flexed very little – although one is to admits that idiotic quitting because “it’s the law” or “to fit” always existed and always will; but fortunately they are a small minority.

Now on to the good stuff for last: “So will English smokers behave the same way? The evidence to date suggests maybe not.” And “The group of smokers likely to be least affected by the ban is teenagers”, which gives us high hopes that English teens and adults may be intelligent enough not to believe institutionalized fraud. Hang in there, kiddos: we will break them. The Telegraph’s piece finally reaches the ejaculation of the antitobacco fantasy: “The ultimate example is
Bhutan, where the sale of tobacco has been banned outright.” But it does not say that the “ultimate example” of the antitobacco scum did not work as the prohibition is unenforceable and vastly ignored, so people smoke right in the face of prohibition as they should (that’s why the mass-media don’t talk about Bhutan anymore). Antitobacco’s ultimate dream reminds us of the masturbator who asked his hand: “was it nice for you too?”…
