Tobacco Control and institutional corruption
July 15 -
Pro-choice "Ninjas" - Michael Siegel, an advocate for tobacco control, was
banished from a prominent anti-smoking list-serve for making remarks
that don't adhere to anti-tobacco orthodoxy. He is bemused at some
of the inflammatory comments on that list made by tobacco control
advocates who got the vapors from his remarks. Specifically he
highlights a recent message that labels those who disagree with the
anti-tobacco agenda as ninjas. More hilariously FORCES is described
as the replacement for the tobacco industry funded National Smokers
Alliance.
If only! FORCES would gladly take the 50 plus million dollars that
Big Tobacco bestowed upon the defunct NSA. With money like that we
would severely hamper, if not terminate, the efforts of the tobacco
control industry to impose prohibition. While the pharmaceutical
industry funnels billions of dollars to the antitobacco industry to
dispense their lies to policy makers, politicians and the public, FORCES
could neutralize Big Drugs' mercantile agenda at a fraction of the cost.

Puppet neglects background material - Last month the United States Surgeon General took to the
pulpit to thump the anti-smoking bible, screeching how secondhand
smoke is the most dangerous substance on earth. Why even one half
hour spent near the stuff leads to heart disease and lung cancer.
As an indication that the nation's doctor was reading from the
tobacco control script, Michael Siegel points out that the
secondhand smoke sermon contradicts an earlier report issued by the
Surgeon General about the health benefits of quitting smoking.
While miniscule exposure to secondhand smoke has dire consequences
to the nonsmoker instantaneously, the benefits from quitting primary
smoking are quite slow in coming, if one is to believe the
contradictory conclusions by two reports issued from the same
office. So eager is the current Surgeon General to dance to
anti-tobacco's tune he forgot to review what his office has put out
over the years. The contradictions dispensed by anti-tobacco have
become so prevalent that Dr. Siegel's fear that soon no one will
believe anything anti-tobacco says is becoming a reality.

This is how gangsters help each other out
- Exploiting the statements of the Surgeon General about secondhand
smoke, asthma and heart disease – statements which have
absolutely no correspondence with reality because they are based on
an epidemiological fraud -- antismokers and
their minions in the various areas of the bureaucratic state machine
get busy to make smoking a crime – literally, a violation of the
criminal code this time. Siegel comments more than sufficiently
on the beyond-orwellian social consequences, and we will not
belabour his points. Instead, we would like to focus on the
deterioration of logic, ethics and morality of the Surgeon General
and his "report". Most people will never read this long report,
but if they do they will find that at first it implicitly but
clearly concedes that the evidence on passive smoke is:
|
 |
|
US Surgeon General Richard Carmona
has officially
accepted junk science and public fraud as the US public health policy. |
-
Circumstantial
-
Not
scientific
-
Unverifiable
-
Un-measurable
-
Contradictory
The SG basically describes junk science and scientific fraud. But
now, brace for impact. Having said all that, the SG proceeds with the
twisted logic that, since trash statistics on passive smoke has become
the standard of antitobacco research, then junk science is to be considered
real science, and politics, policies and laws have to be
conceived, built and implemented on that. In short: junk science
says that passive smoke causes heart disease without ever being able to
demonstrate it, not even in one single case? No problem: since
there are many crooks who make the claim, the issue is real
and scientific even if
it doesn't fit any scientific standard whatsoever. There is only
one possible conclusion:
PUBLIC FRAUD HAS BECOME THE ETHICAL STANDARD OF HEALTH AUTHORITIES, and
the tool for social engineering.
How does that grab you, folks?...
The SG is affected by the worst possible form of corruption - which
is not that of stealing or otherwise breaking the law (technically
speaking, at least; there are laws against false information, but
it is obvious that health authorities are above them): it
is the crookedness of intellect and morality that has now reached the
highest levels of "public health" - thus of the state. And this ultimate
corruption is the real, devastating threat to the integrity not only of
American society but, unfortunately, of the rest of the world too; it is
the base of a new form of dictatorship that reaches the most intimate
areas of the individual and his family. It must be stopped, no matter
what.

Hospital raiding fraudulent passive smoke bandwagon for heavy-duty money
- Our readers - after lighting up and taking a big breath - should make
the effort to read this article to see a good example of lies upon
frauds upon political exploitation. So, the Golisano Children's
Hospital in Rochester "will lead a national effort to help
eradicate children's exposure to secondhand smoke". The effort
will put into the hospital's pockets $8.3 million from the loot of
the Flight Attendants extortion (see article). Doctor after director
takes his turn to lie to the public about smoking: secondhand smoke
is harmful to children (totally false); "the exposure causes
chronic health problems, such as asthma and ear and respiratory
infections, and leads to an estimated 430 cases of sudden infant
death syndrome a year, the report said"; absolutely false
and utterly unsustainable. These con artists cannot prove one
single case of what they are talking about. Let's stomach one more
paragraph to get more into the swing of things: "Smoking rates
have fallen dramatically over the past 10 years. It shows people are
finally hearing the message," said Nancy Adams, executive director
of the American Academy of Pediatrics New York Chapter 1... However,
she said, 'the correlation between secondhand smoke and kids who are
exposed and incidences of asthma is really startling. We really do
have a lot of work (to do) to protect kids.'"
Adams is wrong on the smoking rates falling in the
last ten years, they actually have been quite stable. Unfortunately, she
is correct on one thing: there are a lot of fools out there (smokers,
unfortunately) who have fallen for the passive smoke fraud, and indeed
the exposure to passive smoke has decreased - but the respiratory
problems amongst children and adults have certainly increased,
demonstrating that passive smoke does not cause those problems.

13th World Conference on Tobacco or Health Drenched in Nicotine
– It is interesting that, for the first time, we find ourselves at least
in partial agreement with a smoking-cessation group. Certainly, not
because we believe the statistical “smoking's massive annual slaughter”
for which - will we ever get tired to repeat it? - no one death can be scientifically proven by anyone who
advertises it. Nor do we believe that nicotine is a harmful substance,
when in reality it is not only harmless, but also beneficial. What we
agree on is that the NRTs (Nicotine Replacement Therapy – a therapy to
“cure” a disease that does not exist, smoking) do not work. The
reason why is as simple as it is easy to understand: for a medicine
to work you have to be sick first. To remove an addiction, you have
to be addicted first. Methadone works only for people who are addicted
to narcotics; nicotine patches do not work because nobody is addicted.
Smoking is just an enjoyable habit that corrupt heath authorities want
us to believe is a disease. This piece, however, brings forward
interesting collusions between the tobacco industry and Big Pharma. Ever
wondered why Philip Morris is now so adamant about NRTs? You may find
the answer in this piece. The 13th Word Conference on Tobacco
or Health is nothing but a pharmaceutical horror show that clearly
indicates who runs “public health” today. It should be renamed
Tobacco or Fraud. It may also prove useful to read the piece “World
Conference on Tobacco and Health Sponsorship by Big Pharma Precludes it
From Being Objective Scientific Symposium” by Michael Siegel.

Smoking bans: based more on junk than sound science
- Dr Phil Button, Associate Specialist in Anaesthesia & Pain Relief in
Basingstoke, Hampshire, writes a letter published by The Business On
Line.com, commenting on the German situation. Germany is still
prohibition-free, but international pressure and relentless fraudulent
propaganda by international antitobacco - as well as EU directives - are
prepping the German politicians to ban smoking and join the
Nazi-inspired Neo-Prohibition. The letter is followed by comments of Mr.
John Gray about the usual accusation that Germany resists prohibition
because of tobacco money. It's the same old: only if you have sold out
to Big Tobacco you can be against epidemiological frauds and prohibition
- take it from those who have sold out to Big Pharma!
|
At any rate, we feel obliged to explain what the
phrase "the risks to the health of smokers are very real" that
you see in
the letter means in
statistical reality. It means this:
*
Out of 100,000 non smokers, 10 get lung cancer. Out of 100,000 smokers,
100 get lung cancer (hence the scary and much advertised: "10 times
more chances to get lung cancer if you smoke"). Thus, even assuming
that ALL the 90 smokers in excess (out of 100,000) get cancer
exclusively because of smoking (a very, very extreme assumption
since lung cancer has another 30+ suspected, concomitant causes whose
interaction changes for each individual) the possibilities for a smoker to get lung cancer
are roughly 1 in 1,000 (100 out of 100,000 get cancer = 1 in 1,000; the
other 999 do not) .
This figure, however, is a mass-population number that
cannot and does not apply to any individual, for whom
it has absolutely no meaning. Simply said, if Bill smokes and Joe does
not, what said above does not mean that Bill has 10
times more chances to get lung cancer than Joe has, nor does it mean
that Bill will get lung cancer and Joe will not.
Pay attention now: this 1 in 1,000 vs. 1 in 10,000
statistical increase in frequency
is considered "causality" in substitution of the
real causality
that cannot be demonstrated biologically, genetically, or
in any way using the Scientific Method. The con artists of "public
health", attached medical associations and ignorant media do not
explain to the population the limitations of these measurements
that try to demonstrate an assumption and a belief, but they
cannot demonstrate a fact (that smoking causes cancer). The measurements come from epidemiology
which, by definition, cannot demonstrate
causality because it is NOT science. Is it clear now how we are
taken for a ride by "tobacco control"?... The crooks put the frequency
of a disease with over 30 co-factors (that change from person to person)
instead of the indemonstrable scientific cause(s); assume
that people are all alike, assume that all other co-factors have
no influence to create the scary mortality figures; call the whole thing
science and trumpet that the smoking-and-cancer link is "scientifically
demonstrated" - while the etiopathology of the disease is not even
known! And they do the same thing with all other diseases "attributed"
to smoking - including cardiovascular diseases that have more than
300 co-factors!
So, when you hear that "there is no
doubt that smoking causes cancer", do not
believe them - no matter who says that: they do not know; they want you to
think that they do! They substitute ignorance with authority, season
everything with arrogance, represent their opinion as science and
cook for you the concept that they are the science. That of
course is an oxymoron, for science can demonstrate what it states and
they cannot.
For that reason they refuse any public
scientific debate on smoking, for all they can do is show some picture
of diseased lung, make sure that servile media do not ask them
embarrassing questions and count on the fact that your emotions
establish the causality! The public is entitled to be informed,
but not to be conned!
Whether, then, 90 more statistical chances over 100,000 (that can be
very real) constitute a "big" risk or
not is a matter of personal judgement and it should be the decision of the
properly informed consumer - not
that of the authorities.

Two words from the FORCES B.O.D.
- We publish two short pieces from two members of our Board of
Directors: Maryetta Ables (President) and Gian Turci (C.E.O.)
The
false health of antitobacco actually prevents a truly
healthier environment (by M. Ables) -
20 years of lies and "tobacco control" have not decreased in the
slightest the diseases "attributed" to smoking by the "public health"
con artists. Rather, in spite of the decreased number of smokers, the
"tobacco-related" diseases have increased - and the creation of truly
healthier environments is prevented by smoking bans. |
Oh,
what a wonderful thing being a ninja is (by G.
Turci) -
Our C.E.O. comments on the new "ninja" definition of FORCES by "public
health advocates" and also reveals several very interesting and
seldom-known aspects of the tobacco-financed "SRGs" whose function, it
now seems, is not at all that of defending the right to smoke - quite
the opposite, in fact. Here is a teaser: they are a big bluff. |
The good news
July

Antitobacco leeches ready to fall after pharmaceutical blood runs out
- We are glad to report that one of the oldest sources of
disinformation on tobacco and smoking is in serious trouble. The group,
that goes by the names of Smokefree.net/Tobacco.org was originally known as
Tobacco BBS, although the correct name should have been Antitobacco BS.
They were supported with grants coming directly or indirectly from pharmaceutical
industry gangs such as Tobacco-free Kids, the omnipresent Robert Wood
Johnson Foundation, the American Cancer Society and the American Legacy
Foundation (that handles the money ripped from the tobacco industry
with the Master Settlement Agreement). As the feed dried up the
empty hat has been presented to Big Pharma directly, but it did not work. We have a suggestion for Gene Borio and
for the rest of his gang: if you really believe in your (false) cause,
work for free as we have done for 10 years to counter and demonstrate
scientifically the disinformation you relentlessly pumped out. "After
years of funding that was sufficient to keep the news running comfortably,
we're now without funding", whines the group. Well, we wish them a
very happy and fast bankruptcy, and we have cigars all ready for the
happy occasion. To paraphrase the closing line of every communication of this
group, "Yours for an antitobacco-free future".
July
15 -
Ireland,
say it with a study:
antitobacco cons declare their own ban a success
- Given that public fraud has become the ethical standard of health
"authorities" here comes a "study" paid and
conduced by "public health" stating that, thanks to the ban that
"public health" itself has imposed, a whopping 11% more people pour into
pubs that have been finally freed from the right to smoke. The script of
the antitobacco cartel headed world-wide by the World Health
Organization and its pharmaceutical owners applies to Ireland as well.
The script says that, everywhere, happy non-smokers who - poor guys -
never could get into locales before because of all that deadly passive
smoke, now finally rush in and make locale owners rich, rewarding them
with their endless gratitude! Prohibition is not just good for
health, but for business too - take it from white coat socialists!

Isn't that touching?... Too bad it's false -
like everything else antitobacco says. In reality wherever there are
smoking bans there are foreclosures, and Ireland is certainly no
exception. And, by the way, would you believe a study paid by Philip
Morris stating that smoking is good for you? Some may answer: "of course
not". Then, why should anyone believe a study paid by the Irish Office
for Tobacco Control, which is the same entity that cons the Irish
about the "dangers" of active and passive smoke? If the tobacco industry
conned the public (so goes the theory), at least that was done with
private money. "Public health" instead cons people with public
money - a much graver crime that, for some reason, seems to be a lesser
crime because the perpetrators say it's "good for you". What's wrong
with this reasoning?... here is what: we forgot that antismoking "public
health" is above any moral judgement or criminal law.
Behaviour Control
July

-
Certifiably insane - There is no doubt that sincere
anti-smokers, those who fervently lap up the bilge served up by the
financially motivated tobacco control industry, are lunatics. No matter
how bogus the latest "scientific fact" or how punitive the remedy to
reduce smoking, the fanatic nods his head and applauds the hate dispensed
to his neighbours, friends and family who lawfully choose to enjoy a legal
product. As the anti-tobacco agenda reaches a height of extremity
unimaginable even a few years ago the public is finally taking notice.
John Gray, a resident of the United Kingdom,
examines the antismoker and finds neuroticism run amok. One of the key
elements to the insanity is the fear of sex and the potency of smokers
who enjoy their adult pleasures to the fullest.
Dialogue with our readers
July
15 -
A
great point against the antis - Robert is an avid reader of our
website, and he writes to us with a good argument: if the antismokers are so
worried about the unproven hazards of passive smoke for children in cars,
why there is no action against the proven hazards of dangerous driving when
children are on board? A good argument indeed, except that Robert - like all
honest people - thinks about logic, commonsense and real priorities. But
that is not at all what antitobacco is about. Our C.E.O. Gian
Turci responds.

Junk Science

Cancerous canines - Dogs
may be man's best friend but woman should be wary of faithful Fido
according to researchers looking for links to breast cancer. Grant
junkies in Germany "suggest" that dogs may offer a route of transmission
for the mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV), as well as other microbes, which
could participate in the first steps of carcinogenesis in humans. How this
happens is unclear but using the arts of epidemiology the "researchers"
say that women with a dog for a pet are twice as likely to get breast
cancer than those whose abodes are dog free. The numbers, of course,
aren't compelling, as is the case with most of the "studies" cranked out
by researchers always in search of the next big grant.
Tobacco
shake-down
July 15
-
Court rejects $145 billion tobacco shake-down
- The Florida Supreme Court has dealt a blow to the shake-down efforts
of a notoriously parasitic legal establishment, whose members have
funded lavish villas and private jets with the proceeds of anti-tobacco
litigation, rewards for years of work as the muscle of the anti-smoking
industry. The court’s ruling is described as a reversal of one of the
biggest punitive damage awards ever. But while the news has initially
sent tobacco company stocks up, there is nothing particularly hopeful
here for those who hope America will pass by the temptation to make
millions of its citizens the new breed of despised crack-heads.
Indeed,
part of the fall-out from this decision will probably be a louder call
for full prohibition. Gradually, as the prospects for milking the
industry peter out, lawyers, anti-tobacco grant-getters, public health
“authorities” whose little fiefdoms have been shored up for years with
anti-tobacco cash – all will see the end of the gravy train coming. At
that point, their conclusion will be that, since it is regrettably no
longer profitable to suck the blood of big tobacco, it is time to pull
the walls down around everyone. And in the aftermath? Well, the campaign
for coercive control of people’s dietary habits will pick up as the same
players seek to perpetrate themselves.
Those
who are interested in the details of the recent decision can

Prohibition
July 15
-
Build more prisons: smokers are the new enemy
- Smokers as criminals? You don’t believe it? Some readers have told us
that tobacco will never become like heroin, part of the drug war,
criminalizing people all over the nation. No responsible person in
government would sanction it.
We’ve got
news for you. Roll back the tape to 2003. The Surgeon General of the
U.S., who occupies that chair mainly to be influential and to set a
“tone” for future developments in policy, has already done it.
The U.S.
Surgeon General has called for prohibition of tobacco products, so
prohibition is not far behind. And that means that smokers will soon be
part of the burgeoning an underclass of despised “substance abusers”.
Part criminals, they’ll be paying out fines, taking up jail space, and
pushing into the headlines, as respectable people bolt the doors and
shut the windows, having been enlightened as to the real threat among
them. Part sick-and-in-need-of-our-help, they will be entered into that
unholy category, the “mentally ill.”
Ah, and
what a strange ride it’s been for that category of fellow human
in the western world. In the nineteenth century and indeed for much of
the twentieth century, when female sexuality was so threatening and
unspeakable that virtually everyone felt threatened and no one spoke, we
had female circumcision of children right here in the west (that’s right
folks, it ain’t just for Muslim fundamentalists). That was to stabilize
and treat “abnormal” children. Then, when Freud reigned supreme, gays
were ill (as well as criminal), women who were dissatisfied with the
limitations in society had “penis envy” and were ill, and the list goes
on. Now Freud wouldn’t even rate a free cup of coffee in the cafeterias
of the hospitals and universities that once unquestioningly wielded the
sword of his orthodoxy. We have other, trendier forms of social control
to meet the perceived needs of a new age, and careers being built upon
those perceptions. The once-idealistic baby-boomers will retire having
built not a better or more enlightened anything, but having wrought only
a few cosmetic changes to a system that seems bound to stigmatise,
condemn and make miserable some element in society – blacks, gays,
women, minorities, drug-takers, smokers, the overweight, Catholics,
divorcees – the players change, but the bad faith remains.
And no,
the Surgeon General and his army are not fighting a war against
tobacco, they are fighting a war against people.
