One of the great movies
I have seen in my lifetime is Braveheart. Mel Gibson is an excellent
actor, and the message he conveyed was a great message. It is said we
never really appreciate anything until we lose it so I believe we should
protect those things which we place most valuable.
Our nation is engaged
in a war against terrorism. Our government has seen fit to invade Iraq
in an effort to prevent future acts of terrorism against our country.
Although we have found no WMD’s and no Osama Bin Laden in Iraq, we have
elected to stay in Iraq to establish a democracy for the citizens of
Iraq.
The establishment of
democracy is a great responsibility. Democracy is based upon the rights
of the individual as well as the welfare of the majority.
In my opinion, the
state of Washington has crossed the line between democracy and
Aristocracy.
Even under the vicious
rule of Saddam Hussein store owners were allowed to establish the rules
of their establishments and there were no ridiculous laws which dictated
that there would be no smoking with 20 feet of doorways. Can you imagine
that? Every time we start up one of our cars it is like 500 smokers
lighting up a cigarette, but we are worried about second hand smoke? I
find it amazing that those criticizing second hand smoke can use their
carbon monoxide emitting vehicles in their adds and criticize the second
hand smoke from a cigarette.
I think it’s time we
brought our military to Washington State to reestablish the freedoms we
are sending them to Iraq to establish. We need to do away with the
governor’s Gestapo and return to being a democracy.
