The greatest threat
to liberty at the dawn of the 21'st century is not Islamic Fundamentalism. It is
perverted science, cloaked under the fake pretences of Health Fundamentalism. I
am not worried about Usama bin Laden, because he is not a threat to my liberty.
The novel tool of the
perverted science movement is meta analysis. It is akin to an alchymist tool. It
can be used to conjure up anything from nothing.
This is of course bad
enough, but it is not the worst aspect of meta analysis.
The true danger of
meta analysis is that it removes accountability from the person that uses it to
claim something, and passes it on to a whole host of sources. In order to be
held accountable for the claims, one not only needs to drag the claimer to
court, but also all of those responsible for the host of claims that have been
conjured into the meta analysis.
This is the true
culprit. The lack of a single original source is the problem.
It has only ever been
tried once to drag a meta analysis into a court, and plaintiffs won clearly. But
did it matter?
The use of meta
analysis is a clear attempt to overload the system of justice, by placing such a
great strain on it that upholding justice becomes practically impossible within
the field of statistics. No matter about the tiny gains that might be achieved
through the use of this tool, it can never outweigh the lack of justice that is
it's inevitable consequence.
That is why meta
analysis must be prohibited. |
