The smoking ban hasn’t stopped Paris from smoking.&nbsp; The restaurants and bars in Paris have found a way to make a smoker welcomed.&nbsp; It is nice to find resistance and accommodation.&nbsp; <br type="_moz" />

A new research study recently published in the<i> <a href="http://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(10)62296-9/abstract">Lancet</a></i> studies the triggers that can cause heart attacks.<br />

The Competitive Enterprise Institute has filed a lawsuit; <i><a href="http://www.scotusblog.com/case-files/cases/sm-brands-inc-v-caldwell/">S&amp;M Brands v. Caldwell</a></i> with the Supreme Court to break the MSA because it is unconstitutional. The Constitution&rsquo;s <a href="http://www.answers.com/topic/compact-clause">Compact Clause</a> mandates that &ldquo;No State shall, without the Consent of Congress &hellip; enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State.&quot;<a style="color: rgb(0, 51, 153);" href="http://washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/opinion-zone/2011/02/240-billion-msa-tobacco-deal-challenged-supreme-court#ixzz1Eul9Erow"><br />

Illinois, which has some of the strictest anti-smoking laws, has instituted the Illinois Right to Privacy, The law states that the workplace cannot legally discriminate against someone for using a lawful product (i.e. tobacco).&nbsp; Under this law they cannot discriminate against people who bungee jump or drink&nbsp; soft-drinks or alcohol.&nbsp; <br />

The ACLU believe that &quot;employers are crossing a line by banning a habit in <a href="http://blogs.wsj.com/juggle/2010/10/20/when-its-hard-to-hide-your-personal-life-at-work/">workers&rsquo; private lives</a> that is legal. Indeed, more than half of the states have passed laws prohibiting discrimination against smokers or those who use &ldquo;lawful products.&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp; Over half the states have passed laws that will not allow the employer to fire you if you smoke on your own time.<br />

If tobacco was removed from the shelves tomorrow would we still find toxic elements in our bodies?&nbsp; Yes, we would.&nbsp; <br />

Finally, people are speaking up and understanding what is really going on.&nbsp; Bullitt County Choice, a group of residents opposed to a ban, has said the measure would violate personal and property rights and should not be decided by the Board of Health because it is not an elected body.

Navy submariners have had a difficult time giving up their smokes on their long tour duties. Half of the people on board smoked while on duty, how many will resign their commission over this?&nbsp; That remains to be seen.&nbsp; We shouldn’t be making it this difficult for our military. <br type="_moz" />

Campbell County in Kentucky is considering repealing a smoking ban that hasn’t taken effect yet. The council will be voting on this issue Wednesday, 2/16/10.&nbsp; If you smoke go to the meeting, you don’t want a smoking ban!<br type="_moz" />
