Ghana is working to ban the smoking of the wind-pipe tobacco popularly known as Shisha and electronic cigarette by the middle of 2018.

Sales of e-cigarettes are currently not allowed in the UAE but people bring them into the country and order on line. The government is looking for a way to stop sales from being delivered by the mail.

Last year, Victoria outlawed vaping in Victoria’s smoke-free spaces and banned e-cigarette advertising. Studies of vaping in homes found no discernible effect on air quality, and concentrations of vaping chemicals in vape shops were well below occupational exposure limits and nicotine was undetectable. “The bottom line is that there is no identified health risk to bystanders.” Will the government consider changing the law that was put into effect last year? Only time will tell.

Parkland, Florida just passed a bill raises the minimum buying age for all guns to 21, creates a three-day waiting period for most gun purchases and gives police broad new powers to confiscate firearms and ammunition from people deemed to be a threat.

Maryland high school students and representatives from several advocacy groups are working to pass legislation that would raise the minimum sales age of all tobacco products to 21.

The Lafayette City Council will meet to hear the second reading and consider adoption of an ordinance that would add vaping to the city&rsquo;s existing anti-smoking law.

Dr. Scott Gottlieb, extended the application deadline for vapor companies from 2018 to 2022. The extension allows existing products to remain on U.S. shelves for an additional four years. Gottlieb also indicated that the FDA would reconsider the guidelines as written and that he would direct the Center for Tobacco Products to issue final guidance to companies about the process, something the CTP had yet to do for its 2016 e-cigarette regulations.

In a rare move, the companies that make the multiple sclerosis drug daclizumab (brand name Zinbryta) have voluntarily pulled the medication from the market and stopped all clinical studies after reports of eight cases of serious brain inflammation among patients in Europe.
