We’ve moved beyond the "dog eat dog" struggle for dominance where at one point the most aggressive and clever gets to be the top dog.

The pattern now is for "dog eat rabbit" at the suggestion of the cat. The cat gets a temporary respite while the rabbits impotently cower, waiting to be gobbled up by the dog as the cats hiss their approval at the rabbit slaughter. Norman Kjono examines the antipode of the "united we stand" ethos, that stood us well for so long. At some point the potential victims of the ravenous dog consume themselves rather than uniting to kill the rabid dog.
