The state of New York has been waging war against the Native Americans to collect taxes from cigarette sales for years. The government has broken treaties for hundreds of years and continues to do so.
"Members of the Seneca Nation said on Tuesday they had secured a temporary restraining order from the New York State Supreme Court in Erie County that prohibits the state from instituting the tax while the tribe prepares to challenge the validity of the underlying law under the state Administrative Procedures Act."
