One of the ironies of our supposedly rational age is the blind faith with which every utterance of "health" is accepted.

"Studies show" is a credo that few in positions of power dare examine. Members of the press lose every ounce of their vaunted scepticism when presented with a slick press release distilling voluminous research data into a few pithy paragraphs that reduce a phenomenon that can be caused by thousands of variables into a mono-causal equation that is essentially a smokescreen. Søren Højbjerg boils down the anti-tobacco miasma polluting the planet and finds some easily understandable human traits to explain the wilfully illogical conclusions dispensed by anti-tobacco to the faithful. Greed and lust for power head the list.
