In a continuing and disturbing trend, over sixty Chicago smokers face losing their homes if they refuse to quit smoking. While one would reasonably expect that free people should be able engage in a perfectly legal practice in the privacy of their own home, public health’s agenda of lifestyle management is now reaching into our very living rooms.<br />

The Council members of Summerville, S.C. tabled a bill which would have banned smoking in the county. The reason given was that the members didn’t have a chance to read the bill after three years of debate.<br type="_moz" />

Smokers in N.C. have not liked the smoking ban that was implemented this year. Smoking was only allowed in country clubs but not in private clubs. Several private clubs got together, sued and won! More club owners, who’s clientele are over 21, should band together and sue, smoking should not be just for the rich. Adults can make decisions, and it is time we do.
New York lost it’s battle to plaster cigarette packages with grostesque pictures of diseased lungs or teeth. A Federal Judge ruled that only the Federal Government can make those decisions.<br />
